News: DeMarcus Lawrence Appeal

Well I don't think any of us know what is going on here or if there's truth to what he's saying. I don't understand how him not getting suspended is bad?

He not getting suspended is not bad. The thought of the fan base being grateful for shortened suspensions -- and often looking the other way for 'alleged' transgressions -- is bothersome. That is the distinction you missed, bloke.

It's illegal at the federal level. Disagree if you like, but that's far from "outdated".

You can call it moving the goal posts if you like. I'd be more inclined to believe you don't understand the policy and have no desire to understand the policy. If an exemption is available and you choose not to seek it, don't complain if you are punished later.

I understand the policy quite well, just don't agree with all aspects of it. They adjusted the positive testing limits a few years ago, moved the goalposts as it turned out.

I find it ridiculous that Tom Brady got his suspension lifted and miss 0 games after being caught cheating and lying about it, but Lawrence can take a prescription drug for a health issue and possibly miss 4 games.

Unless it's Hardy, the guy who DLaw with his 'sudden' 8 sacks last year was suppose to replace...

Then you got to bring out the pitchforks....

Deafening silence...

Can we still scapegoat McClain and Hardy as the bad guys at fault here?

Yes, and quite frankly I would love to hear the counter argument. Lay it on me how Hardy and McClain are not the worst offenders here.

You meaning using a PED that has nothing to do with recovery in reality is no big deal...

Isn't that what McClain supposedly did last year and was endlessly bashed for it?

4 games, 2 games or 0 games. Just make decision so we can plan accordingly. I am more concerned about Lawrence's back, he needs to be 100% because he's going to be seeing many more double teams this season.

The policy is outdated. The whole weed thing is silly. It's legal in many states. Maybe it's time to move the goal posts again on what's a positive test and what isn't.

Yep and it's not even a PED...

I didn't miss it. I guess i'm wondering why do you feel fans should care about "ALLEGED" transgressions? It is alleged afterall isn't it?

Brady's suspension has been reinstated at least.

ADD may need Rx. Never heard of amps for back pain but it could be used for weight loss to help his discomfort.

The alleged was a bit much, old fellow -- just to not rush to judgment, that's all. If we start nitpicking all our words, pretty soon all the nits will be gone. And then what will we do with all the spare time?
Perhaps, "reputed" or "reported." If those do not suit you, mate, I can dust off the old dictionary in the reputed study that the original Gimme turned into a video game room, that scoundrel and uneducated lout.

I think it will be huge.

I think we are in for 3 shootouts in a row in the first 3 weeks.

the sooner he is back the better.

The defense hasn't really improved, matter of fact, I'm predicting a lot of close games in 2016.

You have to fail four times to get a 4-game suspension. A fifth failed test is a year suspension.

Gregory failed four tests in about 10 months.

I didn't know that he had failed so many. He is history. They can move on from him now. Gregory is just stupid. Pot is not a drug that causes addiction. He is doing the drug just to get high. What looked like a draft steal is turning into a wasted pick. I rifn't realize that the problem had become so severe since he has been a Cowboy. I think the guy has Rome kind of mental problems TBH. Oh well, another wasted second round pick.

I am concerned about the back injury as well. This can turn into a career killer if he is not careful. I have not read about what type of back surgery he had, but the best back surgery is bad.

It's a case of not "what you did", but a case of "who you are".

Living in New England, I want to see nothing more than for that smirk to get wiped off Tommy's smug face, but that's another story.
