This would be good news, although it seems it should be either 4 games or 0. Either he did something wrong, or he didn't.

Gregory is irrelevant. Does anyone doubt he toking as we speak? I feel a Josh Gordon future for that clown.

Does anybody really think that most of the players coming out of college are not smoking weed? They might not be stoners but smoke sociably. Smart ones know when to stop or how to hide it.

If that is the case he should be cleared without suspension. I can actually see how ADD drugs are considered performance enhancing though as they give you greater focus and energy, but if you have a script (way over diagnosed and easy to get)and run it through the league office Id think youd be safe. Having a medicine that simply metabolizes in the same manner should be an easy over turn.

I agree. I think the press go confused about the Scandrick suspension and then a bunch of people ran with it.

Players can take various ADD meds with a prescription. So this one seems a no-brainer

You got it mostly right...OScandrick had his 4 game PED suspension overturned but he had already missed 2 games by the time the ruling came.....he was still found guilty of violating the substance abuse policy but since it was his first violation it didn't warrant a fine or suspension.....it just means more testing and strike one.....there is no free window for coke and weed, they just don't test for it. But if you get arrested it still counts....

No, he couldn't be guilty of violating the substance abuse policy because substances of abuse are not tested for contractually during that period. Now perhaps an agreement was reached between the NFLPA and the league that he and Welker would enter Stage 1 of the program - but you can't be flagged for a positive result for something that you can't contractually test for then.

you are wrong......look it up

you can be flagged without a positive test....an arrest will do just fine

I see banning ADHD drugs during the season. They would enhance your performance but during the off season when prescribed by your doc I don't get the problem

the confusing thing is that Ian Rapport has been reporting that DLaw has been a repeat violator of the substance abuse policy and this would be his 4th failed test....if it were PEDs it would also be a 4 game suspension but no one has heard a peep about any previous failed tests for PEDs or rec drugs

Well the argument is they help you train and add power.

The league isn't allowed to announce it until a suspension is given.

You cannot be flagged by a PED test for a drug covered under the drugs of abuse policy. That violates the CBA. That's different than an arrest. Perhaps they took his claim of doing Molly as evidence to put him in the program. However, he would never have been in that position had the two sides worked a more realistic PED policy out.

If that is true, it is under the drug abuse rather than PED policy. Drug abuse policy is generally more flexible

And what exactly happened?

He was flagged by a drug everyone knew shouldn't be in the PED policy. Had the league and NFLPA come to an agreement earlier there would have been zero suspension

he tested positive for amphetamines not Molly, which are banned year round

all they did was change the classification from PED to recreational because it was the off-season

I think the argument is that the back medicine metabolizes in a manner similar to the ADD drug. ADD drugs are performance-enhancing but I believe that many players do have prescriptions that exempt them

You do tend to lose weight on them.

The defense hasn't really improved, matter of fact, I'm predicting a lot of close games in 2016.

we always play close games. We have no idea if the defense has or has not improved yet. Won't know until after camp and the suspensions are over.

Byron jones being the free safety from day 1, having both lee and mccain at linebacker, scandrick back and what looks like a 5 man deep rotation at DT I think this defense should battle.

with the offenses we play this year I don't think we are shutting down our opponents no matter what. We are going to sink or swim on offense.

My hope is that the defense is just good enough to get a stop in the 4th qtr or a turnover to get the ball back to romo.

The point you are trying to make is what now?

The drug policy was changed. You can't test positive for something that isn't tested for. Which is why the suspension was lifted.

Anything else is a negotiated settlement
