Mark Sanchez may get released

Mike Fisher is saying this morning he is told its 10 weeks for Romo.

If that is truly the case I wouldn't bother with a veteran. The season is over. Go get a promising young qb like a Sean Mannion even if you have a draft pick and then going into next year you will have a vet in Romo and two quality young guys and you can build a defense.

10 weeks. This is going to be the worst season yet.

I doubt the Rams would trade Mannion but he would be an interesting acquisition

Mark Sanchez may get released

Guy is a turnover machine 7 years in. I am sure Showers can turn the ball over without a team mate example, so no. Thats why Denver wants out.

If Denver releases Sanchez they will not have to give up a conditional draft pick to the Eagles and they save $4.5M. IMO he will get cut. I do not want to see him in Dallas because it will be a circus and he sucks.

I don't know the point of this clip.
As if the poster is so perfect in his life or career.
You could have easily posted Romo bobbling the snap or Emmit the Cardinal meeting the Dallas D, but chose a cheap shot.
Agree. Of course, I am aware of the butt fumble and have seen video of it several times, but for some reason never really paid attention to it until seeing it posted in this thread. It appears to me that Sanchez had picked his hole to run to and that 65 got pushed back right into Sanchez's path causing them to collide, thus causing the fumble. If anyone should have gotten grief for that fumble, it should have been 65 first and Sanchez second.

On a side note, I wonder if JJ might wait until after game one to pick up a vet so as to avoid being on the hook for the year's base salary when said vet likely gets cut after a few weeks?

Honestly, I think Showers is better than Sanchez.

"Whew".....it was only a nightmare.....thank god......it was terrible...

I dreamt that Jerry panicked, traded the next two #1's and #2's for Mark Sanchez.

" I beleive Mark is a great addition for our offense, he still has a good 10 years left. This shouldn't be construed as a quick fix, we are commited to Mark as our franchise quarterback.

We still like Dak but you cant put a franchises entire future in the hands of an unproven player with his physical limitations. The regular season is different from the preseason. It's my understanding that most teams prioritize winning."

Per Clarence Hill and Garrett have the same agent.

I can see it now.

"Mark's a good football player, and he's been a good football player in this league for a number of years. He's been a backup before, so he's coming into this situation. He's also been a starter, and he's started games in this league and won games in this league. He has the skill set that allows him to do everything we will ask him to do. He's big, he's strong, he's fast, he can throw the ball really short, medium and deep. He's accurate. He's athletic. There's a lot of different things he brings to the table. We just want to give him an opportunity to be a part of this Dallas Cowboys football team."

let the giants sign sanchez. Ryan Nassib's play this summer has been worse than stephen mcgee.

We don't need a veteran to help dak in preparation, Romo is here to do that.

we need another qb to possibly play but why does it have to be someone with no upside?

I'd rather trade for Bryce Petty. I hear he's out playing both Geno and Hackenberg.

Hey, Laufenberg will be done with pretend games this weekend.

If they do not feel comfortable with Showers at #2 then get a vet but Prescott should be QB1. No better time to find out what we've got than now. If he shows promise as the heir apparent, great, we can focus on the D in the draft and FA. If not, great, we know we do not have that guy yet. But think of the advantage if we do have him and can focus on the D. And if Romo played would we know?

That hit changed my perspective from 2016 to 2017 and beyond. It is all about the future now. We've been wondering about the window and how long it will be open. I think we can stop that now.

After watching just how clumsy and slow Romo was on that play tells me this was going to happen soon anyway. We are actually better off that it happened in that game than in one of the first two. No way DCs were going to just let him stay in the pocket and that OL is only the best run blocking one, not the best pass protection. At least Prescott can move and protect himself.

I don't care what they or Romo say, he is done. He's more of a liability than asset because of his health. He was great fun to watch and I wish he could have had a better playoff record but it is time to close the book on the Romo years and open it on the Prescott year...........and hope there are more years to come. And on the very bright side, man, this is going to be one young offense. Remind anyone of any other young offenses?

normally these threads make me cry much like pulling a nose hair by mistake.

oh who am i kidding. you never pull those by mistake.

in any event, we're gonna need someone now.
I read the first line and immediately thought."How can you pull one by mistake?!?" Second line? Question answered.

I agree completely.

Good thread. I mentioned him the other day in another thread. I think he's a solid option. As others have said, gotta have someone decent and he's just that...decent.

He's gone....

No DOUBT he's gone Floaty. I had no idea they'd owe him that money. Well, he might even be worth a 7th rounder to assure we get him. (which is what I said in another thread about him) He isn't spectacular but he's solid. He's Namath compared to Matt Cassel. I wasn't a Moore fan either. (sorry Floaty...but he's a 3rd stringer in this league at best. Which is what he'll be next season behind Romo and Dak)

I almost posted this but I wasn't in the mood to face the CZ firing squad.

Better you than me my man.

Duck.
I thought about butt fumble too. Knowing Denver is gonna release him rather than pay that salary plus not playing him last night is a pretty good indicator he is about to be cut. We do need a vet presence behind Dak till Romo gets right. So why not him? Fire upon the OP...lol

The lack of faith in Dak is disturbing, especially in comparison to the blind optimism in Matt freakin Sanchez. Yuck.

No one doubting Dak, but we are down to two QB's and neither has played in a pro game. If Dak goes down, a vet option makes sense.

I don't think they would either. I think he could be pretty good though.

Mannion was the best QB throughout Rams camp according to reports and looked very efficient against Dallas. Will be interesting to see if Rams keep 3 QB's.
