Dak needs (and deserves) our support

Basically Romo's experience makes a difference, you can deny that all you want but we have 10 years of stats, trends and proof.

1. Dallas would not have seen 8-9 men in the box
2. Some of the high throws from Dak we would not have seen
3. Romo's ball placement on both throws to Dez would be different
4. Protection calls and blitz recognition would've been different
5. Romo knows how to throw his guys open

That isn't a knock on Dak, but to sit here and act like Dak is far superior is ridiculous, and has been ridiculous since Romo's injury. Some of you are blinded by the fact that Romo is and will be the far superior QB for the next 2 years. Dak is a rookie who has been forced into action. He has some great qualities and skillsets, but he is a Rookie that teams are not afraid of right now.
Please direct me to anything I said that indicated Dak was far superior than Romo. Thanks.

Actually I think the answer is that you have completely and utterly exaggerated this whole anti-Dak movement.
You know how those parents sound on The Simpsons?

That's how your message reads to me.

Two things here:

1) Who's not supporting Dak?

2) What is this incessant need to drive a wedge between Romo and Dak?

Maybe not so much you, but look at the multiple threads claiming Romo will never get his starting spot back.

Your original post could be taken that you no longer support Romo (Just like in the past especially when it came to TO) that you believe Dak is better.

You can't support someone and offer constructive criticism?

Observer: "Hey, you've got two left shoes on."
Observed: "Shut up! I only need your support."

I believe Dak is our future and I still support Romo (when he's healthy & on the field).

That's what i'm thinking but it doesn't take too long before the QB of the Cowboys eventually divides the fan base.

Even as a rookie they will get judged like they would judge Tom Brady.

It's the roller coast of emotion with an ESPN logo on the side.

Romo fans don't want to face the light at the end of the tunnel.

It's ok, they will soon enough have to face it, and deal with it.

Call it whatever you want folks. I support both QBs and I am not into overreacting due to one game.

And you quoted my post because?

I'm not knocking you being supportive. I just don't think criticism automatically means you're not supportive. You can be supportive and be critical. Anyone who is a parent understands how the two blend.

Constructive criticism is not lack of support. I mean, if that were the case, you would have a lot of explaining to do given some of your past remarks about Romo.

Constructive criticism is often a casual term for lack of support and I have no qualms again saying that, at one point in his career, I was not on board with Romo. I'm also on record as having embraced him and do support him now.

Again, it seems like 99+% of this site is pulling hard for Dak.
It's really Romo who getting the hate and disrespect.

FWIW, Mickey Spagnola was just on the radio.
He said the team and front office are happy with how Dak played and still seem him as a great prospect.
He said the general idea is "that with a lot more development overtime, he might even become the full-time starter in 2, or more likely, 3 years"..
He said as much as they like what Dak's doing so far, anyone who thinks it's even a consideration that he take Romo's spot this year, is way out in left field.

Take with it what you will.

The point being that the players, coach, and front office don't see these players in the same tier at all right now...but the dream is that someday they will be.
it sounds like that is also Romo's dream for Dak too, btw.

You think our coaches don't offer criticism?

That's what I figured. That was the plan all along anyway. Kellen Moore getting injured and Dak playing lights out in the preseason is why he got promoted to backup but the plan was still the same. Romo is the man for the next couple of years and then they'll see where everything stands.

"We can't win with this guy. Get Romo back in there ASAP."

Do I really need to dig for it? There was plenty after the game.
That's called giving their honest opinion. Like you said you were doing with Romo.

Ask the mods nicely if they can delete this stupid thread.

The only safe place for Romo at this point in his career is the pocket.

There is no safe place for any player on the football field. I'd much rather Tony avoid hiys than stand there in the pocket and take a beating.

You know what I find very interesting... The Romo lovers are seeking every opportunity to criticize Dak. It's so silly and shallow. Pardon my French but I really wish it would stop. This is not a Romo vs Dak thing. This is a Cowboys success thing.

We are watching the future unfold in big D and, for once, the future is bright. Romo is a symbol of fragility in his twilight years. He would be lucky to see three more full games. I, quite honestly, have zero additional faith in him being able to last past three games when he returns. He is incapable of accepting the fact that he's fragile and just needs to work the pocket. His mind is still fixed on his ability to scramble. Meanwhile, defenders aplenty in the NFL are getting faster & faster.

Romo is a train wreck nowadays when the pocket breaks down. His mind tells his body it's still 25 years old and his body reacts like a 55 year old. It's a painfully obvious mix that I'm tired of seeing & that's just me being real.

I wish the best for Romo in his recovery but right now... For the next several weeks... Dak is the guy that deserves nothing less than our unwavering support. He has done and said all of the right things since we took him in the 4th. I'm with him.

I can't value the opinion of anyone not encouraged by Dak's performance on Sunday. It was his first NFL game; he had no run support; the defense was bad; his WRs played poorly; the play calling was bad. We can win with Dak playing QB. For a rookie 4th round pick, that's saying a whole hell of a lot.

Give Dak a little more time, he will win everyone over including most of the fans. I saw him do the same thing at MSU. He has already won over the media and coaches/management. However, still a fringe Romo supporter group being delusional thinking he is coming back to "save the day" so to speak. He couldn't do it in his prime and even more certainly can't do it now.

To an unbiased observer, it is EXTREMELY obvious who the better QB is at this point. Romo had his turns, couldn't get it done, and now it is time to turn the page. Dak does deserve our support 100%. I think the true Cowboy fans realize this and are on board.
