The future is finally in focus

You can't score more points if you are not on the field playing the game !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Umm, that's why Romo isn't starting today. You know, the whole 'not on the field' thing. I assumed (there I go again with my assumptions) that everyone would figure out that we're talking about once Romo can play. Sorry if I confused you.

Why are you ready for Romo to come back? You are right, the future is in focus. Sorry but Romo lost his job like Bledsoe to Brady. This should be his team. I don't care about Romo's salary as it is a sunk cost now. That is a tired act now having to rely on him. It was long overdue to move on to something we can build with. And he's good enough right now to win games.

I'll thank Romo for his services for the last decade but his era is over. It's a new era here. We have a young nucleus on offense that can good for a long time. And we can focus the next few years in the draft on defense and sewing that side of the ball up.

No, because you asked a question that has no point in the discussion. You don't seem to understand that.

Romo is better than Dak. The offense will be better with him at QB. The team will score more points. That gives us a better chance to win.
It's truly hard to believe our dim-witted fan base is trying to generate a QB controversy when the backup has 0 TD passes and has completed one pass all season long where the ball was in the air 20 yards. As I said in another thread, I guess going 3-13 over the last calendar year will mess you up so bad that you suddenly believe that standing in the pocket with all day to throw and throwing five yard passes to Cole Beasley is irreplaceable QB play.

If Romo gets hurt again, he gets hurt. The fact that he's had a couple of injuries the past two years does not in any way mean he will get hurt again. I get tired of hearing he's injury prone. It's bull crap. It's football. Injuries happen. Bones break. It doesn't mean it's going to happen again. My point is that Romo gives us the best chance of winning this year and going to the playoffs. As I've stated, I'm thrilled with Dak. He's played well, but not like the second coming of Joe Montana. He's well ahead of schedule in my opinion, but he's still a rookie and has not shown the ability to stretch the field like Romo can. That's why our run game has struggled. In both games, the defenses have stacked the line of scrimmage to stop the run. Until Dak proves he can stretch the field, we're going to see the same thing every week. Maybe it's him. Maybe it's the coaching staff. But, he hasn't shown that ability YET. We know Romo, when healthy, can stretch the field and make defenses pay for stacking the box.
We can't stretch the field because we don't have anyone that can run that we trust. Dez looks like he is running in mud. He was never a burner and I think his back and foot injuries have caught up to him. Plus in an offense that has constantly required him to catch the ball in traffic...the hits and spills and acrobatic catches have taken their toll. He is still a legitimate #1...but in a Larry Fitzgerald kind of way. We need someone like DeSeaon Jackosn...who before the snap already has the defense playing deep and back pedaling at the snap of the ball. That will open up the field. Someone opposite Dez that the defense respects. Not a clown like Terrance Williams.

No, the ******** is to continue to deny the obvious. To attempt to lie about facts and the reality of the situation. Fans have said the same thing about injury after injury after injury. 'Just because he got injured before, doesn't mean he'll get injured again!', and then what actually happens? He gets injured again. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Injuries don't 'just happen' to other players, they happen to Tony Romo. His long injury history and huge lead in number of games missed, isn't a fluke. It isn't 'bad luck'. It's a clear pattern. A fact. History. Irrefutable.

Given his injury history, the only 'best chance' he gives us is the chance of more injury.

Prescott has done everything that he's needed to in order for the team to be 2-0. You want to place blame? Place it on his receivers for dropping touchdowns. If they hold up their end, this team is 2-0 and rolling and even fewer are talking about handing anything back to Romo. Dak has done his part.

Why will we be disappointed if we have Dak Prescott?!

Thats what you don´t understand!! Romo is the better quarterback, we don´t need to worry every time he gets hit because we know we have Prescott behind him, plus Prescott will have time to watch and learn. Look at Garapolo from New England, look at Rodgers in Green Bay, look how many years it took Cam Newton to be good.

Yep, and look at how good Prescott is compared to those guys in his first year.

Think what happened with Andrew Luck and Manning in Indy. That is what needs to happen here if Dak continues to get better.

Thanks for again refusing to answer it. I can see your avoidance crystal clear.

I'm sorry you are living in the past !!!!! Troy and Roger were better QB's than Romo, but I don't want them on the field now !!! This is about now and the future !!!!!

If he's healthy and his play isn't the reason he shouldn't get his job back - then he should get his job back.

It's one thing to get caught up with Dak's play and poise, but it's entirely another to suggest that we wouldn't be better with Romo, especially if we want to make a playoff run. We are still pretty limited in our offensive game plan with Dak right now. He has yet to stretch the field and our running game isn't as effective as it should be.

There's nothing wrong with being excited about Dak and there's nothing wrong with being excited about Tony's return. They are both mutually exclusive.
Stretch the field? When he does go down field people drop it. And instead of forcing it down field he throws it to a wide open beasley. And if they have the box stacked then don't you think garret should have an audible for a quick pass? Dak has done nothing wrong to this point

Romo never has any problems stretching the field with our receivers when he's the QB. Next.

I used to assume that the intelligence bell curve would somehow look different among Cowboys fans. It just seemed that they had to be smarter, we're better than other fans. I was sadly mistaken. We've got some real bottom of the bell curve posters. Just wait until Dak finally throws a TD pass, some of these people might show up to Romo's house with a moving truck.

We have ZERO chance of winning a Super Bowl with this defense this year. Romo would have to have the BEST year of his career to win with this defense. And simply cannot carry this team for 16+ games anymore.

EXACTLY. So the needle needs to start pointing towards the future instead of THIS year. The more Dak plays this year the better chance we will have next year with him behind center.

Wow, you really are dense. Yeah, winning the division and going to the playoffs should be pretty much the goal every year. Once you're in the playoffs anything can happen.

Dont push your low standards on me. I want to win SB's.

And if you think this team has a chance to win the SB with this defense then you are dense.
