NFL still investigating Zeke's domestic violence accusation **merged**

Period.
That is great:)

I really don't like the NFL attempting to investigate or punish acts that have occurred before players ever entered the league. None of these players signed an application stating their background in it, at least to my knowledge. At some point I think the NFL is taking this way too far.

Quite honestly, barring criminal convictions, I think it should be up to individual teams deciding whether they want a player playing for them or not. This is going way too far.

Everyone just needs to relax and quit with the stupid conspiracy theories and the whole everyone is out to get the Cowboys thing. They have a process for these things and they likely put off interviewing him until his bye week. They will see that there is nothing there except a lying ex girlfriend. There is absolutely nothing to this situation that they can suspend him for unless they choose to believe the girl unconditionally despite what the police found and all the other evidence pointing to she simply made it up. I don't think that is going to happen because that would bring even worse press coverage down on them. The league does not wish to destroy the career of one of its young stars and have more bad press. They would much rather conclude nothing happened and have it all fade away. There is not some big movement out there demanding Zeke be punished because everyone knows nothing happened. That is what they will conclude.

Yes. I read an article about her when she got the job. The two things I mentioned came right from the article. There was also a quote from a co-worker who said he doesn't know a bigger Giants fan.
I think I remember you all bringing it up when Hardy was being evaluated. Maybe I blanked it out because I can hardly believe it. That sounds almost like a conflict of interest.

Wonder why Josh Brown wasn't scrutinized more before all the media attention brought his case to light.
;)

In all seriousness a lot of us have wondered about the potential conflict of interest. And I personally find it questionable that in spite of a year of investigating (per an NFL.com article), they found almost no evidence against a Giants player. Even when the ex-wife gave them various avenues to investigate via her claims. And I found it equally questionable that when they did hand down a 1 game suspension for the Giants player, it was without fanfare and with a simple statement that he violated the league's conduct policy. The reason (truth) didn't come out until the next day when people started to clamor about the ambiguity.

I think that even if the investigator can somehow maintain her objectivity in spite of her rabid fandom, she shouldn't have to. She simply shouldn't have the job, I find it impossible to believe that they couldn't find someone equally qualified who didn't have an active rooting interest in a team. Giving the job to a person who's a die hard fan of a particular team is just unprofessional IMO.

Well that alone explains the 1 game suspension of Brown. Maybe it's time to investigate the investigator. Was that even mentioned during the fallout of the Brown case?

No. it was never mentioned. There is a double standard. The media capital of the world and barely any coverage about the case at all until the national media became curious after the suspension.

We may have something to worry about if we don't trade McFadden. He might still be here for a reason.

A complete witch hunt and misdirection to ease the spotlight off of the Giants and Mara.

I am sick of the buddy-buddy system between Mara, Goodell, Blandino and the Giants.

What's even worse during the Pro bowl either the NFL or the Giants, maybe both helped get her another room at the hotel because of the abuse! How crazy is that?

They knew it when they hired her. It's not new information, I knew about it before she investigated Greg Hardy. The reality is that nobody cares that she's as rabid a Giants fan as anyone will find. But I honestly believe that if they hired someone who was an equally rabid Cowboys fan, it would be an issue.

Another case showing why the NFL has no business playing Dick Tracy

If they couldn't find anything on Brown they are incompetent.......what they released on Hardy was out of context........evidence and testimony needs to be cross examined and under the threat of perjury

Without a conviction, a plea or a confession the NFL should not be able to suspend

Does anyone else have a huge issue with the fact that the NFL can have investigations over something that is already legally resolved? Is that even legal for them to do?
No, it doesn't bother me at all because that's how it works. Your employer can discipline and terminate you for things which don't rise to criminal law standards of conduct or proof.
