Jerry: Tony Romo will return at some point near the end of the year at the latest

What it means to me is that if the training wheels fall off, they will roll Romo out there. If not, they will keep moving forward.
That's exactly what that means. If the Eagles won Sunday, Romo would be playing this week. Jerry's world.

Tony is healthy and isn't out of shape....Jerry is selling snake oil and thinks we are all rubes

I would prefer if Jerry just said Dak is the QB and thats that but Jerry can't do anything easy

To bad for Tony, I wonder how healthy he would be if Dak wasn't playing so well?

Romo's health & fitness to play is inversely correlated to Dak's performance. Medical clearance will be indefinitely deferred for various reasons if the wins continue.

I certainly understand the notion that Jerry can screw up a good thing.

But had the Eagles won Dak would still be the quarterback. The team isn't going to make a change like without significant reason to do so.

Romo was all-world in 2014 but that's a long time ago now in football time...and 3 or 4 surgeries ago.

Trying to get people on the Super Bowl level in Cowboy land seems impossible sometimes. All I want for myself and this team is to win a Super bowl. That's it, and if it means getting rid of this person, picking up this person, winning ugly, winning pretty, I just don't care. The only reason I'm down on Romo is because years ago, I saw the character of a person who's not mentally up to the challenge it will take to make it there. He was weak minded during the TO thing. He had the perfect team to get there, but he wilted under the pressure of a super star receiver.

I've played with guys like this before and we never won anything. But the one QB that I did play with that had a tough mentality and was just all about football, that's the guy who helped us win 2 titles. You look at Dak and all he's going through now. He's showing that he's tough minded right now. That doesn't mean we'll make it to the super bowl, but there's a difference between a tough person (injury wise) who can play through injuries, and a strong minded person who isn't phased by anything going on around them and just wins.

You look at a guy like Brady. I watched that game sunday and what I saw was a guy who was surrounded by fire and rushers who were trying to kill him, and he blocked it out of his mind, moved in the pocket to where he could throw it cleanly, and fired for touch downs. This is the type of person I want QBing my team.

I think all the fame came too fast to Tony and he didn't know how to handle it. I agree we had chances to win back then and we blew it. Over the last few years I've seen a much more mature Romo. Unfortunately his health isn't good right now. I would love to see Tony win a SB but I'm not willing to risk it on stopping a good thing we have going with Dak. We can't mess up the future on trying to get Romo one last chance. If Dak starts to fail and the team starts losing then I'd go back with Romo to try to save the season.

I might agree with this. I can't help but wonder though if he needs to play through his bad times and what not. Aikman had to do it, other's had to do it, and I wonder how he handles being pulled once he has a stinker game ending in a loss.

I'll just take this portion of your post and shake hands with you on that.

I could say more but I'll bite my tongue and move on...

Brady and Gronk are the best, just wish they had a star on their helmet.

Yea I wouldn't do it after just one game. It would take multiple games. The Cowboys have to be careful. They can't ruin Dak mentally by yanking him at the first sign of trouble. That's why I was against replacing him with Romo if the Cowboys lost last week. The future of this franchise is at stake. Romo isn't in the long term plans of the Cowboys.

Not trying to be a snob to you or anyone else, I respond unfavorably when I feel attacked for my opinions. I just want a Super Bowl, hope that's not to much to ask for. It's been 2 decades and counting now and this is not the way Cowboys world should be. We should almost always be on top of the football world.

Bullcrap.

There is no debate right now about who is starting. None. Dak is the starter and everyone knows it. This is just Clove wanting to rub people's faces in the dirt.

Telling people their dreams are crushed? That's vitriol a'plenty.
I'm sorry. I'm referring to the vitriol in this thread. You had one person who was off the ledge, but overall the discussion was pretty civil throughout the day.

Now you have a couple of yahoos choosing to go back/forth with the whole my guy/your guy thing that then kinda ruins the civility.

It amazes me how pedestrian these guys get once they move to another team. Coaches included. It's like somehow they're cheating and no one knows how.
