If every media member is going to bum rush you as soon as you show your face anyway, why not just have one organized session so everyone can just get on with their lives?

I dont know if Fisher is part of the organization.
Note the picture in Fisher's tweet is Romo saying "good job" after the 50 yard toss to Dez.
A good picture for signaling the passing of the baton.

Offered? He had to do it. Players that are injured don't have to talk to the media. Once activated, you have to talk to the media. Romo had no choice.

He's been on the active roster, not IR

I'm sure most of the people here don't care, but I do feel bad for the guy. Really wish he was able to win a SB as the starting QB, but doesn't appear he will have his shot.

I understand where you're coming from DallasEast. But, I think Romo just wants to put to bed any QB "controversy" talk or any talk of him not being a team guy. By doing so, he is hoping the media will leave Prescott, Elliott, Wit, Dez, etc. alone regarding the matter and talk will be strictly about football. Also, the media can get all their questions out of the way now since the backup QB doesn't have to be and shouldn't be doing interviews with the media during the week.

I respect my QB for trying to get rid of the distraction so the team can keep rolling.

This type of press conference is very difficult to handle. Hacks will start asking awkward questions and probing.

All Romo needs is a championship...it doesn't matter if he is the 2nd or 3rd string. Get that championship on your resume

Romo hasn't had a media session since before his injury in August. I think it's just to get it out of the way so there's not a whole of speculation about what's what come practice tomorrow.
He's no longer the starter. He shouldn't be holding a media session unless it's something important.

Yep but he's a pros pro so he'll be fine. Being the starting QB for the Cowboys preps a player for handling good and bad press.

Now that he is active he has media responsibilities he has to take on.

He hasn't been inactive except on game days. He has been on the 53 all season. He wasn't on IR or any other list. I don't know what they activated him off of now so that he has all the media obligations. I think he is talking now because he is healthy and he wants to. It should be interesting regardless.

He is a leader in the team.
Leaders dont allow themselves to become a huge distraction.
Players, especially ones that aren't starting, usually don't hold a random presser unless it's something important. If Tony just wanted to say he's doing fine and whatnot, he could do that in an interview.

Look at the way the FO has treated troubled players, with the latest being Gregory and Jerry said he has not given up.
Does it seem like a typical team or typical business?
The field goal posts are moving.

Plus you just described where Jones spoke about something concerning the franchise. Or did Gregory speak to the media about himself first?

He was the starting QB of the Dallas Cowboys for the last 10 years or so.
If his role is officially changing, it is a big deal.

You really are turning into quite the troll. Let's pretend that he's a nobody now. You're a joke.

It matters when you are a competitor. Sure Steve Young doesn't even wear the two rings he got as Montana's backup in San Fran. The one that matters to him is the one he famously said got "the monkey" off his back...1994 season Super Bowl.

Actually, it matters completely if he starts or not.

But you don't make decisions for one guy. I still think he's easily our best chance to win as the games get harder in the playoffs, but how do you possibly make a change right now? You can't.

Look, I dont want this to become some type of huge argument over something that is going to be cleared up in 2 hours.
I am just saying Jerry has treated his players with an enormous amount of deference, particularly those he spent years with.
If I were management, out of loyalty, respect etc, I would allow the team leader to speak for the organization, even though he is not the President.

Leave the guy alone. He's a class act and gave his body to this freaking franchise. He's one hit away from being the starting QB again , or a hot away from retirement for you haters. Either way the guy has been nothing but a class act. Have some respect.
