Keeping him around next year would be horrible for Romo and the team.

Dallas has to use the money they will free up to add defensive help and Romo still wants to play so he should allowed to leave and do just that.

Agree I just can see Jerry wanting it. He deserves to go somewhere if he wants to play. His presser though was geared toward how his passion and being so close intersected so has to be right fit not a mess.

It shows you don't know how what you're talking about there's been years where Brady had no names on his entire line. Don't speak unless you know what you're saying.

So how you qualify OL play is 'no names'... keep proceeding to show you have no idea what your taking about., throughout Brady'/ tenure they've had legitimately one of the greatest OL coaches in the game for over a decade plus and he just recently retired..

Brady has also been amongst the most least sacked...

This. I only hope his critics reading your comment pay close attention to the "and" in the first sentence. He is as competitive as many of the players that his critics actually respect. He can seek his shot elsewhere and be supported for his decision. Likewise, the team can proceed to the post-Romo era JUST LIKE other teams have moved on from departing players in their pasts.

I told you guys. You can't say you weren't warned.

Romo helped him and Rayne's response to that kindness was to take the man's job. This is the character of your new QB.

I'll still root for the team (Go Cowboys!) but sacks given up won't be nearly as hard to take now.

Have some respect, man. You may not have to like Romo, but you have to respect him after what he just did.

I've never disliked Romo and have respect for him but he never got the Cowboys very far. It wasn't all his fault but he contributed. He accomplished a lot going from an undrafted free agent to becoming a franchise QB but it's about winning championships and he came up empty.

I'm not going to look up quotes from all the seasons but here's one, so again you don't know what you're talking about.

Look, this definitely isn’t all on Brady. The offensive line has been a mess ever since the team traded Logan Mankins in late August. They’re changing up the combinations every game, and on Monday night, seemingly every series.

Also what does greatest OL coach have to do with the players? Keep showing your foolishness though. Brady doesn't take sacks because he has one of the quickest releases in NFL history.

It was a good speech, but he should have taken some questions.

All he said was he didnt want to be a distraction, and that Dak is now the starter and he will support him.

I do wonder if this is what he wanted to do, or if he was asked to do it.

I also wonder if this means he wont be # 2 qb, at any point, because he would be better to have than sanchez if Dak gets hurt or
concussed etc.

I also wonder if Tony was just told he would not replace dak unless he is injured, and Tony did not like that,
and also is he not wanting to suit up and be on the sideline as a "bkup" ??
That may be embarrassing for him.??

He definitely was not in good spirits, with no questions and the way he just walked out.

I think the thing to look for is will he suit up now, and be on sidelines ?? I dont see him as a bkup, he is our 2nd QB,
no shame in that if that had been stated by jones.

And even though I am a big dak fan and want to see him be starter for rest of the season, it is too soon to jettison Romo.
The rest of the season should be to evaluate dak, and see if he truly can replace tony.

7 games left and playoffs so many things can happen, Tony needs to be ready just in case.

Filled with excuses, your QB is done the future is here get over it. The Pats are a SB contender every year because of Tom Brady and he's had some horrible offensive lines and besides Moss for a year and Gronk not many good receivers. Excuses make no difference only wins matter and Romo doesn't have the resume. If we had Brady we would have been contenders a bunch of those years but for some reason you act like they're the same QB. I'll let you finish with your failed logic but Romo is not Brady period.
On and on and on. It's the same broken record.

ROFL. Pats have had horrible offensive lines? What games have you been watching for years? Even if it is conceded that this is true - it's not - Brady runs primarily a quick pass offense, relying on pick plays to free small and quick receivers. Granted he's great at it, but he has a coaching staff that knows how to minimize team weaknesses and put players in position to succeed according to their strengths.

If Brady was on some of the teams Romo was on, you'd see him yelling at the offensive line for being sacked for the twentieth time while he's waiting for a receiver to get open twenty yards down the field.

I love you for being the classiest QB in the NFL. For putting this team first, despite your own ambitions. For not distracting Dak, or the rest of the team, with your own interests. I love you for all that you have endured while Jerry failed you for your whole career, and not holding a grudge. Never complaining, never blaming anyone else, a stark contrast in this day and age of entitled finger pointing.

What a true champion in heart you are. I love you that you will always be a part of the Dallas Cowboys franchise, championship or not, and I love you that you were a part of our team, our starting QB, for a decade.

Every franchise couldn't be so lucky as to have a true pro like you. I love you that you were my QB and I can't wait to see where your life takes you next. Whether it's back on the field or elsewhere.

Tony Romo. America's QB.
Well said

You are sick.

Yes it's wrong you should be embarassed wishing injury on a Cowboy.

Very wrong, come on dude. If you said that about Romo all heck would break loose on this board.

Man, touchy touchy. It was just a bad joke, fellas. And it's not like I went with a concussion, or leprosy, anyway.

I'm with you man..

This whole thing makes everything feel bittersweet and as much as I like Dak I can't believe we're ready to let go of Tony Romo for him or any rookie QB.

Yeah, as great as it is to have the QB of the future sorted, it really sucks that Romo didn't get his last shot. Either way, I can't remember an instance of a guy handling it better than Tony did. It'll be interesting to hear Dak's take on it this week.

Yeah, you don't really understand anything, do you.

He did that for Dak. Period.
I almost posted a similar response, but didn't want to give this goober the pleasure of a response. Best ignored.
