Romo was 8-1 in his last starts 9 starts too and dak left a lot of meat on the bone this season
Is this joe randall ?? lol
Funny how everyone but the die hard romo fans, think dak has done great.
Even tony say he has been great.

anything said about what romo could have done or would do, is all fantasy and speculation.
what dak has done is real.

Sure tony if they put him in could play good, and win games, but the jones boys are looking at the big picture, and listening
to what all the people like aikman, jimmy etc are saying.
at the same time jerry says romo will be a cowboy next year, so they havent blown tony off yet.

plus jerry is riding the dak train hoping for a SB run. been a long time since it looked this good.
In 2014 it looked good, but tony got hurt mid season, and then failed in GB.

It took 9 games to convince the jones boys, and now we just have to wait and see what happens.

And about tony competing for the job , no way to do that except let him play a game or 2.
practice just isnt the same as in a game.

I also think tonys best old friend witten is also saying dak should be the starter now, so what does that say?

Then perhaps "chemistry" is the wrong word. It is more about disrupting the groove the team is in. There would be a series of adjustments that have to take place.

Even if Romo took over due to an injury for example. There would be a period of adjustment necessary.

The fact that most of the offensive players are familiar with him pales to the differences in the offense that absolutely would occur if such a switch took place.

The threat of a mobile QB goes away. The read option drops completely out of the playbook.

The way that we have scripted and won games would be slightly altered.

That is not something to be toyed with when you are on an unprecedented hot streak. I don't understand how people can dismiss that.
I think Garrett loses the locker room if he makes a change under these circumstances.

Oh, there is meat in the message on this page...but why is it the Cowboys fans who have to be attracted like flies or ants to a picnic, if a mellow drama is given them on any topic about the Cowboys. Enough of a weekly soap opera...for anything a whole season, when at 8-1.

anything romo has always drawn fans, to talk about it.
on dc.com they had to create a romo sub forum to handle it.
Just how it is bro.

To the point, are they losing a Staubach or just a Danny White?

The biggest issue is that Romo will likely never be 100% healthy. If you broke a bone in your back, your Doctor would likely tell you to not even play golf for about 6 months. If Romo plays he will be more limited than the Romo that people remember.

He looked very good in preseason pre injury and even said this is the best he's ever felt. I think you are just guessing.

He failed in Green Bay? That's what you are going with?

Is that the pre-season where he got hurt after 1 completion? Given his recent history. How long do you think you can you count on a healthy Romo to hold up when the games actually matter?

Thats the biggest issue that the Romo lovers never seem to acknowledge. He cant stay healthy. Dak is young, he is playing well enough and most importantly he isnt in a body cast come game time. Is Romo a better QB "when healthy"? Sure, but that doesn't matter when you cant stay on the field.

Well I dont get what you mean, but they havent lost anything, romo is still there.
I dont want to compare dak or tony to those 2 you mention, all qb's are different, and the 2 above had different teams.

It would boil down what the value that could be missed when Dak Prescott is quarterbacking instead of Tony Romo. Tony is a very good quarterback, but in a similar view that White was in when he was replaced.

Well he didnt win did he? thats a fail.
But let me clarify it was a team loss, and not all on tony.
Tony didnt play bad, but he didnt really play great either, and I for one didnt like him wearing the thermal head wrap, he acted like
he was too concerned about being cold, and rodgers didnt wear that, in fact I think only tony did.
Rodgers outplayed tony in that game.

CC tony is good, but having not played a real game since Carolina last year, means he is going to make mistakes, he would make some
good plays too, but he would make some bad ones, maybe turnovers.

Dak has played all last year in college, and now all this year, he is used to the speed of the game.
I posted a thread in the qb forum, tonys last game hl, look at the hl vids of tony last year, mainly the miami and carolina games,
and you will see what I mean.
The game was too fast for him.
If dak hadnt played all year, and tony had, I would want to stay with tony.

Even Romo understands letting him compete for the starting job in an attempt to win it back this season would be a horrible idea.

That's why we got that press conference this week. To make it clear who's the starter and who's the backup for the rest of this season.

Next season, despite many people confidently asserting Romo will be gone, he might still be here. If so, you can bet there will be competition for the starting job in training camp.

Well this is actually what I am hoping for, and I said early in PS there should be a competition for the job with dak and romo.
And it is what they should do next year.
Keep both guys at top of their game.

The only thing is it depends on how far dak goes in playoffs, and how he plays. If he wins a SB then they wont
have a competition.
personally if Romo would take less money, I would give dak a raise and keep both.
If one goes down the other steps in and you just dont miss a beat.

The game is played in the now...and that is dependent upon what's on the plate, today. Next has a ton of potential, but for now, depth issues are mute. Prescott is shining and a fine 'backup' in place.

Disagree. The back shoulder throw would be available, a better knowledge of defensive schemes would be there not to mention the threat of more deep passes with Romo at the helm. This team is more a product of the players around Dak then Dak himself. Don't get me wrong I love the guy but to think that replacing him with Romo is a step back is laughable to me, to think that Romo don't have the respect of his teammates rather he starts or not is also laughable. Coaches made the choice, and that's fine i am enjoying this season immensely but I'm one that honestly believe the offense would operate better with Romo behind center. But we are winning like Jones said. So don't keep wearing the same socks you been wearing since the streak started.

Romo has never won 8 in a row. In fact Dallas hasn't done this in like 40 years if I'm not mistaken. Dak is hitting deep passes and back shoulder throws. He hit one to Dez on the first Drive. I honestly believe some fans would be satisfied with a 300 yard 1int Romo game that resulted in a loss. Like Linus' blanket. Quit whining...we're here because Romo cannot stay on the field consistently. We should all be thankful for Dak.

First off that was an underthrown ball not an intentionally thrown back shoulder. Secondly I am not denying the magic of this season and the treasure we found in Dak, but that doesn't make me blind. This team would be even better with a healthy Romo running it. That's my opinion, you don't have to agree.

I still think Romo is the better quarterback overall; in saying that looking back over the 9 games there are clearly times that a younger Romo would have evaded a sack and made a defense pay. Dak is that version of younger Romo, there have been several plays Dak got out of sacks by scrambling and buying time, something today's Romo (much as we all love him) would not be able to do. So to say we'd be 9-0 or he'd have better stats is ridiculous, we could just as easy be 6-3 or 7-2, or 5-4; basically I think they're winning but not at this level. We can get mad, sad, or glad but Dak is the starter and these coaches know what Romo is capable of and still decided to go with Prescott. That alone should speak volumes as I'm sure they know Romo would torch a lot of the teams they've played if he could handle the beating and still able to evade rushes like before. That is not the case and they've decided to go with a Mobil, young, accurate QB in his place, we can't say he isn't smart or savvy because he doesn't know as much as Romo, he apparently knows enough to be and have the team where they are and-we-all-know, that anyone can't qb this team anymore than anyone can run behind this line. If that were the case bring Moore back out or put Sanchez in and we could be 4-5 kissing the season away waiting for Romo to heal and hope he doesn't get broke again.
