well that opinion is all relative. I mean in the Minny game, he only attempted 18 throws, completed 12 = 66%. Game before that against Washington, 17 of 24 = 70%. Both 108+ rating. Yeah 2 fumbles vs Minny and yardage thrown was less than 200, but all were solid defenses. Giants game, yeah it was bad but it was bad on entire team and for whatever reason, this team does let down and Giants get up when these two teams play

It was a necessary loss before playoffs.

2 3rd down conversions in the last 24 is not opinion. I know this isnt entirely on Dak, but he obviously touches the ball on every snap. I know the overall stats (in the games mentioned) looked good and they came against quality defenses, but you can not continue to overlook bad performances when you have the backup we do. Im a Cowboys fan (therefore Im a Dak fan too) so I hope he turns it around and this all goes away. However it gets worrisome regardless of the distraction a change would make this late in the game if the offense continues to sputter. I agree a loss before the playoffs was not a bad thing (though I would rather it have been another team), one loss doesnt concern me, but a trend does. I am not calling for Romo to start against Tampa, but if we see more of the same the brain-trusts should consider what the right thing to do going forward is THIS season. I dont think anyone debates Dak is the future even if he continues to have a tough go right now and eventually sat to see if another "spark" happens.

People forget a few things: the coaches see Romo every day in practice, it's not 2014, he's barely played in 2 years, he's 36 and coming off multiple surgeries. To expect him to be the savior is unrealistic. To bench Dak for his second loss in 13 games would be pure panic, and not the kind of thing you want to see from the front office.

Fans can panic and some take full advantage of it. If the team panics, forget about it.

All reports have him lighting up practice..

Article was simple click bait. When it said this current team was Jerry's best chance to win a SB with a team he built since the early 90s teams I literally laughed out loud.

What about the 2007 team that went 13-3? Or the 2014 team that went 12-4 and won a playoff game?

They are just baiting you, gentlemen. In order to rack up the clicks and views.

Dak is the starter for this season unless he gets injured. Book it.

You're wrong. If Dak goes out and lays another stinker and they lose to Tampa Bay you have to sit him.

The team knows this is their year. They'll be grumbling if they think it's being wasted to coddle a rookie while an All-Pro sits on the bench.

Tony benefited from more turnovers in 2014 and the talent is equal. How is this team historically better than 2014? Don't say Zeke, because that guy is overrated as hell. Tony's teams averaged about 22ppg between the 2008-2013 seasons. Stop it

No, the defense benefitted from the TOP of the offense and Romo not turning the ball over when they started running the ball...

And saying Zeke is overrated is absolutely hilarious..

Anyone who thinks they are going to stick with a struggling Dak just because is on drugs. They will keep saying they aren't making any changes until the moment they make the change. But if this offense does not improve in a dramatic way, Jerry is going to get itchy and play Romo.

What has he done?

Without Zeke and this running game and Dak having to rely on his arm, Dak wouldn't in any way, shape or form reach 7 wins in the season..

Teams are playing 5 and 6 in the box regularly to stop Zeke and this passing offense is predicated totally on play action, including the roll outs for Dak..

Ok. If you think Romo can come in after having not played for going on 2 years and be the savior, then you are obviously free to express that opinion.

The only question I would have is......how many games are you willing to give him to return to 2014 form, having not played for that long?

If you say zero, that's probably not the right answer.

So three sub-par games isn't convincing, but that fourth one really makes the difference, huh? LOL. Get Romo in there before it's too late. Oh wait, I guess the team will treat Romo as it typically has, wait until it puts him in the worst possible situation and just expect him to save the team's bacon.

Honestly it's hard to predict what they are going to do because so little of it is based on logic anyway. Clearly the hot hand is gone and has been gone for a couple of weeks so exactly what are they using to decide which QB is going to play? I keep going back to what Linehan said about how hard it is to change QBs in the season and think it has to be mostly about that now.
All of this could have been avoided if Jerry and Stephen weren't so spineless and has just ignored the media and put Romo in when he was ready. We would already have an answer back on what we had with Romo and the rest of the conference is so bad that 11 wins might take HFA, so we had plenty of buffer. But our dopey owner and coach picked a weird time to believe in magic and it's probably going to end up costing us.
I dont see how Dak has disappointed. All he has done is win games until last night?
Now JJones and Garrett are dopey because he should have inserted Romo when around the league
other GM's interviewed said they'd keep the "hot hand" it wasn't dopey nor is losing a game or two
a QB crisis

They also forced 31 turnovers that the offense benefited from.

And he is overrated. Call me when he makes a defender miss a tackle.

When is the last time he made a play because of his greatness? He gets what's there. Congrats

They forced 31 TOs that year, because their offense was ahead and we controlled the TOP and Romo didn't throw INTs.. he had like 9 on the year..

Last year, that same defense couldn't force more than 20 TOs..

Against the Giants last night, this defense gave Dak off the top of my head 3 TOs..

I would hope people would have a bit of sense about themselves not to think they'd shut Dak down over one bad outing.

They're married to him for 2016. Win, lose, or draw.
Unfortunately, there are a lot on this site that was hoping ONE bad game, with a loss, would bench Dak. Heavens forbid if he has another...Oh my!

So wait, in order to defend Dak, you knock Zeke?

If you say zero, that's probably not the right answer.

So we should wait as long as possible? Does he have to return to 2014 form or just average more 3rd down conversions per game for a few games?

Dak's 3 game stats here in this thread and over the last couple weeks have been based on ratings...look at them for what they are over the last 3 games.

3 game average- 15 of 26 for 166 yards 1 td and .66 ints

He hasnt broke 200 yards in a game once during that time.

So wait, in order to defend Dak, you knock Zeke?

Thats the only way this board knows how to function this year...you cant wonder about Romo without knocking Dak and vice versa the whole time while you (the one not acting that way) is accused of being fans of players and not the team.

You mean like Joe Montana? Average arm, big time Super Bowl winning QB. Dak's a rookie who had a bad game. Admit that you live for Romo and be done with it, and by the way, Romo's had 10 years to do something, and hasn't. Now it's Dak's turn. I won't give up on him in year one.
Joe Montana...really

Apparently he's also missed the times Zeke had made defenders miss multiple times by hurdling them, including in Ravens on the first drive of the second half that totally changed the dimension of the game, when Dallas tried the whole first half to win on Dak's arm..

Or his ridiculous lateral cut and dive threw that tiny gap to get the first down yesterday when the Giants collapsed the inside and Zeke basically had nothing as per the design..

The fact this guy would even say Zeke hasn't made defenders miss is the height of insanity..

Zeke is by far the MVP of this team if it's between him and Dak.. one can argue Sean Lee too..
