We took our foot off the gas pedal. Mostly because our head coach is a scared, spineless, weak willed Sally. I literally can't stand the sight of him on the sidelines.

Hopefully we can flip the switch two weeks from now. Some teams have, some haven't.

As an aside, Tony Romo proved he is infinitely more talented than Prescott. The offense struggled with the fraudulent starter, hummed with Romo, then went right back to struggling when a similar lesser player was put in.

If the Cowboys do lose in the divisional round you'll be left to wonder not only what if we had a man as a head coach who kept his foot on the throttle but also what if we had started our best QB? Would it have been different? It might be impossible to answer definitively but those feelings alone should cause you to develop an intense hatred for Dak Prescott.

If you truly are a Cowboys fan.

Other than that, Go Cowboys.
I'm sure your tears are flowing down your Carson Wentz jersey.

And someone will absolutely, positively take him. You will probably get a defensive piece for him. The idea of him just sitting on the bench is infuriating.

I would take either as long as the defensive player is young and fits the scheme.

That team in Denver or even Buffalo have to think they are close with a top ten QB.

And all the people that are in a rush to rid of Romo. I have two letters and one number.....RG3. Looked like a world beater his rookie year.
Are there any signs that Dak is going to be like that? No, there aren't.

Griffin played in a gimmick offense that wasn't sustainable. Prescott plays in an NFL offense. It's just that there is enough talent around him to allow him to manage games with his marginal skill set.

So no, he's not Griffin...but he's not Romo either.

We wouldn't be Cowboys fans if we didn't argue over something. :)

I would have liked to have won this game, but, fortunately, we took care of business early so we had options in Week 17.
The Pats had to play their quarterback and starters. So do the Raiders, Packers, Lions, Seahawks and Falcons.
We get to rest our players. And I'm not buying into "they may be rusty" argument. They've been playing for 17 weeks and more. They're not going to forget what they need to remember by getting a week off to add to another week before they start the divisional round.

As for Romo and Dak, I'm a huge Dak supporter, but it was good to see Romo get back in and perform as sharp as ever. Yes, Romo is a better quarterback in terms of reading and understanding defenses than Dak. He also gets the ball out quicker. But Dak has gotten us to this point so he deserves to continue leading this club through the playoffs. If we need Romo, he'll be ready. But two things still weigh heavily in Dak's favor: 1.) His proficiency in not making mistakes and not getting us into 3 and long situations and 2.) Romo's health (one series does not dispel the concerns I and others have about his ability to take a hit).

Anyway, we have a first-round bye and will play at home and in Texas throughout the playoffs as long as we play. I'm glad we gave Sean Lee a rest and Zeke a rest. Both are vital to this team's success, and I expect that Zeke will get a heavier load in the playoffs.
We also will get a rested Smith and we get Claiborne back.

We're in a good position despite the loss today.

Agreed. Also, RG3 went out his rookie season with an injury. It was the beginning of the end for him.

If Romo is still here, no one had anything to offer in return for a ready to go starting quarterback (albeit with injury issues). It would be a major failure for the Cowboys if Romo were still here.
Romo is being paid like a starter, Dak is being paid like a backup.. if the money was funny we'd have a situation up here like they do down in Houston where they are reluctantly considering playing Osweilier who is absolute trash, due to the contract.

Best to believe Cowboys aren't making a move unless they have to. The money factor shouldn't be the reason that we do anything. Sure it would help to use the money elsewhere if we can, but we are definitely not in a position of weakness here at the negotiation table. This is simply JJ doing Romo a solid to let him out of the contract he agreed to with no sign of compensation from another team.

Please if anyone gives this lunacy of a post a 'like' I will lose all hope.

Tony went out and said all of the right things, even while knowing he was the Cowboys' best quarterback. So, it's not like he did nothing for Jerry. I would be very surprised if it doesn't turn out there was a quid pro quo involved in Tony's public and very humiliating surrender. His burning desire is to compete and win on the NFL stage, and he isn't going to be allowed to do that here, so he'll go to another team.

Free didn't care to play his A game and was against a great pass rusher today. IMO Garrett should have sit him when it was obvious he wasn't interested.
I agree, kind of. You might be right, maybe Free cared and maybe he didn't, hard to say. Sure he's the weak link in the starting offensive line BUT he didn't play so badly the whole year. I'm not ready to panic about our starting right guard.

I'm hoping Romo comes to the Jets. I wouldn't mind having a second team to root for.
