Official Jason Garrett Thread **merged**

This loss is CLEARLY on the entire coaching staff. 1). We weren't prepared to play on either side of the ball, despite having essentially three weeks to prepare. 2). Whoever called the long pass play to Dez on our first possession (3rd and 2) should be fired). 2) who ever called a WR screen on 3rd and 1/2 yard that resulted in an interception when we were moving the ball at will should be fired. 3). Who ever decided we should spike the ball on first down with a timeout on our game tying field goal near the end of the game should be set on fire. The absolute worst call I've ever seen and I've watched a LOT of football.

I'm sorry but you are playing a lame hindsight game.

Take the spike. You use that time out and you now can't throw the ball in the middle of the field. You pretty much settle for a FG if you take that time out.

Had we completed the pass to Dez on 3rd down, that TO allows us a shot or two at the end zone - a shot at winning.

You'd be roasting Garrett if he burned the TO and we settled for a FG because we'd used it and wasted the chance to end the game with a TD.

Garrett did a great job to get us here. We lost because one of the best QBs in the league did something amazing.

This is total BS. Jason Garrett has ALWAYS been a Mon-Sat coach (football philosophy, catchy phrases, quotes, etc.) However, most NFL games are played and actually coached on Sunday. I'm sorry. The players deserve most of, if not all, the credit for this season.

We were down 21-3 to one of the best QBs of all time with a rookie QB and came back to tie with a chance to win, so there are positives too

Absolutely there are, Dak, Dez, and Zeke looked great. Dak especially- that was huge of him.

But with Jason Garrett as the coach, he is going to waste Dak Prescotts best years just like how he wasted Romo's best years

I swear it's like some of you guys don't really want to win.

The Dallas Cowboys should have one of the top, if not the premier, coaching staffs in the league. In my opinion we do not, nor have we had for many many years.
he will not spend top dollar on coaches because he truly believes his idiotic statement that any one of 500 coaches can coach his team.

This is a top 8 team and should compete for a SB the next 5 years.....JG is not a problem

Sign and Draft some Defense and get JSmith and Tapper back and its on

The problem with this is that it ignores clear coaching gaffes in big games. Sure, any coach is going to look better with talent, but it's frustrating to see similar stuff bubble up consistently with this staff. That's what is disappointing and scary for the future IMO. Garrett seems incapable of learning from mistakes because they tend to repeat themselves.

I value continuity over change at this point......if Dak, Dez and Zeke can thrive we are strong

we didn't play for overtime, and he is going to be criticized for it by people that don't understand situational football

spiking the ball maximized the plays we were going to have to try to score a touchdown. Playing it any other way was a more conservative approach. it worked out as badly as we can hope, not getting another first, and not really taking any more clock time, but we were aggressive there, and I liked that
how can spiking the ball maximize the plays were are going to have to try and score a touchdown? It's the complete opposite, its a free stop for the defense. Spiking the ball says, I would like to score a TD, but I am really ok just kicking the FG.

I'm torn

I was never a fan of JG. He had major problems year in and year out with teams showing up flat and unprepared. Talked a great game with no results and Romo bailing him out. Bad clock management and game management.

I started to come around this year. Younger players took to him and learned. He seemed more confident in his role. Thought he turned a corner.

This game was more of the first paragraph. It was abysmal how we came out. Just blew it in the first half. Not sure if that hump can be topped with him

Sorry if i'm being impolite, but F the positives.

Good Lord man, 13-3 and home field in a league that changes from year to year likes its never changed before.

Remember all those great wins in 2007 and 2014, ahh the future was so bright.

Yep.

In reality, this is a failed season. It just is. 13 wins, home field advantage and you spit the bit. That's a failure and I don't care that the other QB was Aaron Rodgers.

OK give me some names

No, there are not! We lost and do not play another meaningful game till September. I don't conside that a positive.

The game plan was horrible. I hate this coach. Jerry Jones will never ever get a decent coach on our team. I really feel bad for Dak, Zeke, Dez, and the OL. Because the same **** will always happen unless we make some moves on our crap coaching staff.

You just saw what a strong Dak, Zeke and Dez got us.

Another early playoff loss. Those three can't do this alone. They can't overcome a suspect D and a coaching staff that, unfortunately, seems to shrink when the lights get the brightest. They almost did it today but it's never a good thing when after a loss you can start listing off all the boneheaded mistakes the coaching staff made.
