Is Prescott the next RG3/Kaepernick

I think what Dak has going for him is that he's healthy, has a solid team around him and has the confidence of the owner. RGIII and Kapernick didn't have anything. Kapernick lost Jim Harbaugh, lost a top 5 defense......battled injuries.....RGIII didn't have any support, wasn't likeable.........Dak's future is promising.

BTW, for the team around him....Kapernick wasn't half bad. I think he's going to be ok.

I guess the point of my post (admittedly that was rushed due to work) was to say, these young QB's looked like HOF'ers after their rookie years. It has happened to a lot of young QB's
Derek Anderson
Nick Foles
Vince Young (to a lesser extent)
I am just wondering if we need to be a little more tentative about him and our growth as an organization.

He has the best intangibles ive ever seen for a rookie QB and he showed off those intangibles on the most scrutinized organization in the NFL. If he was vulnerable at all to outside criticism or having pressure from a QB like Tony Romo being on the sideline it would've shown but the guy was ice cold the entire season when it came to that stuff.

He has complete focus, leadership, and game management skills.

Exactly, the mental side of the game is what separates a good NFL QB from RG3 and Kaepernitwit. And Dak Prescott might have the best set of mental skills of any QB to enter the league in a decade or more - possibly ever.

RG3 was a smart guy, the problem is Shanahan made him a running QB, got him injured and shot his confidence. That's a prime example of how coaching alone can ruin a prospect.

Kaepernick is just a tool.

Did people even watch them?

Highly doubted..........Garrets system really doesnt even allow for that probablilty.

Dak is not a run first qb so no not even close to rg3 and kap. He chooses his runs wisely. Dak has all the tools, smarts, poise, motivation....etc. to be a top tier qb. I see dak working on this footwork, drops, and passing accuracy in the offseason making him an even better player in 2017.

Smart or even talent isn't the dividing factor between Dak ,RGIII and Kap. Dak has a diligent temperament, meaning he sets out to something and he does it. It's one thing to say you want to be the best it is entirely different thing to put in the work to be the best. The kid got his Masters degree in 4 yrs.

How do we know?

He was successful at the beginning of the season. Then DC starting adjusting mid season where we saw a slight slump. But Dak adjusted again and became better and better. Bigger the stage better he played. He is already better than Wilson at the same stage. I believe he will be even better.....

No, those two were never this good and consistent. Dak is the real deal!

The difference to me is he isn't a running QB. He can run but he always looks pass first. I think he will be more like Wilson as far as he progression goes. Other then Nick Foles I can't thinking of a passing QB who has had a drop off like that. Even then I think that was a case of D coordinators figuring Chip Kelly out.

He seems better than Wilson now

This is just a bad comparasion. People seem to want him to be a dual threat QB and lump him with those guys as far as a potential letdown because he is a minority QB.

Fact is QBs such as Aaron Rodgers and Andrew Luck are more dual threat guys. Dak is a passer that improved every game and didn't make mistakes. Everything you would want to see from a rookie QB, he showed you. He even turned his long ball into a thing of beauty and you saw him trust his arm more every play. It's funny, when Nick Foles had his crazy good season...people automatically ranked him as a top 10 QB, some analysts ranked him as the best QB in the division. Dak has an amazing year and he's the next RGIII or Kaep? Why exactly? What part of his game resembles those QBs in anyway?

I am less worried about Dak now than I was Romo in the 2006 offseason. Solely because some of the chances Romo took seemed unsustainable and he had a tendency to turn the ball over.

No. Dumb comparison I assume is made for race reasons. Prescott didn't play in a dumbed down gimmick offense. If you look at the offenses there just isn't anything similar to make you think this is another Griffin or Kaepernick. His success is sustainable, their's wasn't.

They are both better human beings though. By a lot.

I believe some of those guys could have been good quarterbacks had they been in a situation like Dak's.

Kap had as good if not better team when he started his career. There was a reason why he was able to go to 3 NFCC and 1 SB his first three years as the starter.

You could say Russell Wilson, but I say he is closer to Alex Smith. Game manager that tries to minimize mistakes.

Alex Smith has never sniffed Dak's rookie stats in spite of playing on some loaded teams himself. Dak also has a noticeably better arm. It's not a great comparison. People usually make it as a way to bash Dak.
