Signed by Cowboys Cowboys sign Damontre Moore

Low risk ($) potentially high reward (much needed pass rusher).

This is a move you make at last call in free agency. Not quite there yet.

So all of these players are worse and will end up signing for a lot more?

We'll see.

If we are going to go with a head case, then we need someone on that line to keep him on the right path. That's why Long would be the best signing we could make right now.

In my post I mentioned Ware returning (as has been rumored). Him, Witt, Lee, and even Dak would have a good influence on him. I think he is a risk worth taking.

Why would he listen to Chris Long? He didn't listen to Justin Tuck or JPP.

This is the kind of signing the Pats would do and then he would have an all pro year then get traded for a second round pick.
For us, I'm very skeptical but hopeful. The talent is clearly there but he has a problem with being a turd.
If he can get his head right and we only use him as a situational rusher, then we could have something. However, we don't have a lot of historical success rehabilitating Turdism.

I don't think he played with Tuck much if at all (he went to Oakland) and I have never hear Pierre-Paul referred to as a strong locker room player.

You have to be skeptical based on the kid's background. But taking chances is what you have to do in the NFL from time to time in order to gain an advantage. If it fails... No biggee. The kid has some talent, we'll see if he's grown up (or not).

Nice little highlight reel...

Nice find. I saw him sack RGIII, Brady, and chase down a speedy Kapernick. If he keeps his head on straight we might have a player on our hands. I especially like he's been coached in both Gmen and Seahawks defensive schemes.

I'll be rooting for him to turn it around here in Big D.

I like the move, but I still want us to do more. Pick up a vet to add to the rotation like Simon, Barwin, Long or Ware. All of those guys can be added very cheaply. We could be waiting for the price of FAs to go down, but I get the unsettling feeling that we are relying to much on the promise of Charles Tapper being our savior. Say I don't have enough faith, but I have my doubts about a 4th round 2nd year player with a bad back and has never played in a 4-3 being our pass rushing savant.

You know we have a limit to how many dlineman we can have for the roster, right? It's a numbers game and we only have a few spots left that should go to rookies not some aging veteran.

Yes, we need more Ryan Russells taking up roster spots.

I'd rather have a vet role player who can flash playmaking ability every so often as opposed to a 5th rounder who couldn't beat out an aging vet.

Excuse me for wanting a proven commodity as opposed to banking our pass rush on a rookie when we haven't drafted a decent pass rusher since Anthony Spencer while passing on veterans who could have helped us in favor of Ben Gardner, Demarcus Lawrence, Ryan Russell, Randy Gregory and Charles Tapper.

Simon signed with the colts
Barwin is not a 4-3 guy
Long wants some money. He got his ring and is likely looking for the most he can get.
Ware is most likely

Here's what one person said about the kid back in '13...

04/25/2013 - DANE BRUGLER'S FINAL 2013 DRAFT BOARD: 27. DE Damontre Moore, Texas A&M (6-5, 250, 3JR)...Moore probably could have used another season in College Station to develop his pass rush moves, but his athleticism and nonstop motor make him intriguing. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
