The owners want to use this issue to get concessions from the players. The owners care most about money. That's why they gave in on things like practice time, because it didn't directly cost them money.

If they really want an 18 game season, they'll likely try to use the weed issue to get it.

It would be easiest to just loosen the threshold for a failed test. They went from 15 units to 35 units a few years ago. Bump it to 100 units, and few would fail and the public backlash would be minimal as compared to completely eliminating the testing. They probably won't do that because then they lose their leverage with the NFLPA.

The owners are likely content with the current CBA. If there is not something the owners want now, then I see them waiting until the next CBA.

If the NFLPA really wants the change, they would likely need to offer something significant including an extension of the current CBA with the new concessions to the owners included.

Just my opinion.

Generally speaking I would agree with you but Jerry Jones is not content and he is extremely powerful in the NFL.

That rings a bell, to be sure -- I've done the same thing in my youth. Nowadays, I drive about 5 miles over the limit when I'm sober and am never either drunk nor stoned while driving, although if I were, I'd be much safer if stoned than drunk. That's simply the way it goes.
Yes, now I won't drive even if I've had just 1 beer.

If a wreck occured, they would try to use it against you even if under the legal limit.

If a jury hears drinking and driving they won't care about legal limits if some moron stepped out in front of you and ends up dead.

Just wait until I institute the ride sharing service exclusively for reefer smokers

dUber.

Patent pending (not really)

Well you are parroting exactly the same nonsense about danger and decisions that I hear and read from law enforcement types. Have to maintain that budget!

Maintain a budget??? you pulled that phrase out of nowhere! You're not making any sense, in case you wondered.

Between discussing propaganda rocks and budget maintenance, I've come to the conclusion that neither of you will listen to anything reasonable. Goodnight.

Whoa -- that sounds harsh! It's scary to think folks might take that narrow of a view. I imagine it's natural to sympathize with the victim.

Yes, I'm never clear how much power he has. He seemed to have a lot in regards to the Rams/LA deal, but none in the Mara/Goodell cap penalty for the Miles Austin contract.

Just because you do not understand does not mean I am not making sense.

Any time you ask a FoP or similar organization what they think about the scheduling of marijuana they start talking about how it is dangerous, causes people to go crazy, claim it is highly addictive, a gateway, etc.

The reason why they say that is at least in part because a significant portion of a police budget is from the status quo drug policy. For example the feds have paid out billions upon billions to law enforcement over the years for the 'war on drugs.'

Are you not getting that you can speak to the hidden premise of a sarcastic comment?

Think about it and try again.

Well, granted, I don't know boozeman personally... and I can't speak for him.... but in reading this thread, I took from it he isn't anti-legalization of marijuana.

You lie.

They get high. Then get drunk, then beat the girlfriend.

Gateway.
BS! I smoke weed and am a master breeder/grower here in CA for many thankful adult patients who enjoy a much higher quality of life and at times get tremendous healing benefits even from cancer from therapuetic cannabis.

Ive smoked since 16, I live a healthy life (thats me in the blue hat in my profile pic playing ball at 40 years old with Ron Artest)

I have no speeding tickets in my adult life and zero criminal records, no duis or assaults.

I have been happily married for 14 years, have great wife and 3 beautiful children and Ive never, ever considered hitting any of them!

This ignorant gateway bs is for hypocrytical idiots who have no real education on the subject.

Every night when Id leave Venice after playing ball there would be some drunk punks fighting!

Me and my buddies passed the legal joint around while shooting ball on the beach doing pull ups in the sand at sunset and offering free health food and coaching to innercity youth on the weekends.

People do what they do, some cant handle smoke or booze or pain medications or even food, I can, and so can many other reponsible adults! And its none of yours or roger godells fooking bussiness imo!

I live in Tahoe now, right by the nevada border where gambling and prostitution are legal so give me a dam break when former head of the dea John Ashcroft stated after years of government studies that "Cannabis is one of the safest therapuetic substances on earth"
