Schefter on potential discipline for Elliott

I love when someone is considered an "insider"...in other words, "I can't tell you who told me what I am saying, so believe me no matter what..."

ummmm, no

Uh, yes. Trust me. People like to talk, and this includes players. They just don't like to be held accountable for what they say. I used to talk to sources on background and off the record all the time. And if I published what they told me, they would lose their jobs.

I know to the non-journalist, it seems as if "insiders" are making this stuff up. But in many cases, they aren't. Again, people like to talk.

Now the other element is that people who talk don't always have their facts straight or they're trying to float a trial balloon - give information to see what the response is and based on the response, they either back off or proceed with their agenda.

But most insiders have cultivated sources and have gain the trust of players, coaches, owners, and they get certain tidbits so long as they don't reveal their sources. If you reveal or burn your sources, you're TOAST because it gets out pretty fast that you're not to be trusted.

Actually this woman filed charges in Ohio in Feb before the draft, she would later accuse him and press charges in Florida in July after the draft that is why the NFL can investigate. No doubt pre draft the league can't hold him accountable by their rules when he is not a member of the NFL. July charges however is why they are investigating.

I do think given testimony by others including the text you are talking about that Zeke is innocent of what this woman is claiming
From what i remember it was the July BEFORE the draft. So when he was still in college. Maybe I am wrong. But I am under the impression he hasnt seen that woman since.

UNTILL it happens ...FAKE NEWS to me! especially coming from shefter has he apologized to Dez yet for lies about the video....

when it comes to Cowboys news i'll stick with my trusted sources..... dude trash to me when it comes to Cowboy NEWS imo

Zeke is being kept under scrutiny because he was the next one to pop on the DV radar after the NFL screwed themselves helping out Mara with John Brown. Since they didn't appear to bother looking into that one they're dragging Zeke over the coals to make it look like they're being through. I think its theater as much as anything else, but the problem is if the NFL decides to punish him I'm not sure there's much of any recourse that Zeke has other then taking it to court.

The NFL is disgusting. It's been over a year. Why doesn't the NFLPA do a better job putting pressure on them to get these investigations/rulings done in a reasonable manner. This ain't reasonable.

How can a league suspend someone when the infraction occurred when the player was in College. I cannot see the PA letting this happen, or the courts if necessary. How far back can a commissioner impose his suspension, back to high school, middle school.

The NFL is the worst professional sports organization that there is. Great sport and game, but the actual league is just abysmal. Get rid of Goodell ASAP

Expect the worst.

Even he gets away with this with no discipline. It's time now to grow up. It's time now. Be committed to this football team and being great. Any other issue that happens next is on him. Be smart enough to avoid potential bad situations. Be aware of how cut throat the media can be. Grow up and focus on being great. All the great ones always have

I think the incident happened after Dallas had drafted him... making him part of the league.

It doesn't matter anyway... they're not going to find anything. They just want the public to notice their due diligence.

Oh I did not realize it happened after he was drafted.

I'm not 100% sure but I think that is the reasoning I read somewhere on why the NFL doesn't punish before they're in the NFL but Zeke is still being investigated.

I mean, they couldn't just come out and say Mara really wants Zeke on the bench when they play the Cowboys.

LOL a little to obvious

Dez Video. He sure as heck does lie

Why do people keep spreading this lie? Schefter never said there was a Dez video. In fact, he said he hadn't seen enough evidence to report on it.

He was asked about it, and he basically said, "Yeah, I've heard about that rumor for awhile, but there's not really anything there as far as I've seen."

Then people twist that into him saying there was a Dez video.

It's ironic that those people would call him a liar on the subject.
