If Zeke does get suspended coincidentally for just the Giants game, you will never get me to believe there is NOT a conspiracy involved.

Others on here can try and appear rational and claim no such thing as a conspiracy, but in my mind at least, there sure is such. Jerry may be a powerful owner, but Mara controls Goodell so big whoop for us. We still get screwed.

Still not ready to give up on NFL even if Mara gets Zeke that 1 game suspension but dang if my belief it has any integrity at all will nosedive. Hopefully this report is proven false or we at least get real evidence validating such suspension which will allow me to forget about it and continue to enjoy the game fully.
So out of curiosity, if he does get a one game suspension prior to the season wouldn't the NFL suspend for the first game? You think they made the schedule on purpose with the Giants first, as they have for the past several years, knowing that they would give Zeke a suspension and it would be against the Giants? Even though the Giants beat them twice last year with Zeke.

Yes. Yes, I think they would do just that.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...-elliott-preparing-response-nfl-investigation

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has received a report from the NFL on its findings from an investigation into a 2016 domestic violence accusation against him, and Elliott is preparing a response to the league, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Elliott's response is expected to be submitted sometime over the next week.

Multiple sources close to the situation told Schefter that Elliott could face a one- or two-game suspension, but the league has denied that any decision on discipline has been made, and could not be made until its investigation is complete.

"The NFL is looking to pin something on him," one source familiar with the investigation said.

It is one of the reasons that Elliott now is bracing for a short suspension even if the league insists no decisions have been made, sources said.

Last July, Elliott was questioned by Columbus, Ohio, police after a former girlfriend accused Elliott of assaulting her multiple times over the course of a week. The woman told police that, in one instance, Elliott assaulted her while they sat in a parked car.

The district attorney chose not to pursue charges against Elliott because of conflicting stories. Witnesses at the scene said they did not see an assault occur.

When the Cowboys' season ended in January, Elliott said he wanted "closure."

"I would rather it not drag on this long," Elliott said. "If there was something to find, which there's not, they would've found it by now. The police did a very thorough investigation. It just seems like they're dragging their feet right now. Who knows, man? I'm just ready for it to end."

According to the league's personal conduct policy, a player can be punished by the NFL even if he does not face legal punishment. A first-time violation of the policy carries a six-game suspension, but it also allows for a lesser penalty if mitigating factors are involved.

Of course the NFL is looking to pin something on him.

The only winner in this circumstance is the PI that the NFL hired to conduct this investigation. He's been stringing along Goodell and Mara for a year saying that he's following a lead that will reveal the smoking gun all while racking up billable hours talking to barmaids and cleat chasers in Columbus. I bet he's the same guy that strung along Schefter for a year with the Dez Walmart tape.

In all seriousness though, I wonder what new evidence they could have found that the police couldn't have.

If there's no new evidence that was found and Zeke still gets suspended, does that set the precedent that players can be suspended just by an accusation?
People act like this is the first time a player has been suspended based on accusations or no official arrest. It's not but don't try to tell that to the Mara/Goodell conspiracy theorists, they'll come up with every excuse to dispute that.

You just don't get it. It's not just that there was no criminal conviction, it's the fact that all of the evidence shows the girl lied and also tried to get others to lie on her behalf. No organization should be able to take actions against their employees for something they didn't do, or even that can't be proven to have happened. If that's the case, all that is needed is for random individuals to start claiming players on rival teams did something to them if they ever see them in public.

People seem to forget that Jerry made a lot of enemies within the NFL when he took the league to court in regards to marketing and the funds made from marketing back in the 90's. Many of the owners and league officials have not forgotten that.

The NFL just popped Vikings WR Michael Floyd and Rams WR Mike Thomas for 4 games a piece.

Prepare to be violated, Cowboys fans.

Yeah, but those were for substance abuse which are pretty straight up issues. You either test positive or you don't, regardless whether it's illegal drugs or performance enhancing drugs.

If the NFL investigation doesn't come up with concrete evidence, this will be the first time a player has been suspended based off disproven accusations.

I absolutely get it and if there is a suspension with just the news we know then I'd be po'd but for the time being a) we don't even know if there will be a suspension and b) we don't know if we have all the facts so until something happens and there is more clarity we can't make assumptions.

Again, the NFL has always done things their way and always will until they change the system during the next bargaining agreement. I hate it but that's what is. I believe it was Brandon Marshall who was arrested but never convicted of anything 3 times. The NFL filed that under "personal misconduct" and suspended him 3 games.

Dez was charged, later dropped IIRC, and they just gave him mandatory counseling and a curfew.

We all know what happened with Hardy.

Josh Brown was never technically charged and served on game I believe.

My point is every case is different and so are the punishments. This isn't anything new. Technically none of the guys above were found guilty of anything either and all of their punishments vary. And for the last time, based on what we currently know I think it's all BS to but I also know the NFL has and will donwhat it wants and it has nothing to do with the jersey he wears until there is definitive proof.

Well according to many here and the jacked up state of NC, Hardy's accusations were never proved. Why was he suspended? Why was Brandon Marshall suspended when he wasn't found guilty?
