As for the "lifting of the top" incident, I have yet to read anything about the NFL investigating this. Every report that has come out has been on the alleged domestic abuse incident which will cause the short suspension.

I find it hard to believe with media connections, none of them would have found the NFL investigating the parade incident - outside of around the time it happened, the media hasn't even picked up on.

I would say, most of the league fans aren't even aware of the alleged domestic violence incident. It seems, if anything, the NFL dragging this out and people calling the NFL out on is bringing the bad PR rather than the incident itself.

This sums up everything that's wrong with emotion-based methodology. Logic be damned.

News flash, what you "think" or "feel" is not evidence or fact.

Emotion based?

You gotta be kidding. 1 in 3 arrests for DV end up with no charges files.

Let's please try to actually use logic rather than claiming someone else isn't being logical.

You seem to be the one lacking understanding of how the league works.

The league does not have to meet a legal standard. The league also very likely does have more information than the authorities. The league is not really bound by external pressures that a prosecuting attorney would have. If prosecution thinks, given the police report and interviews, that they aren't going to be able to win a case, they stop investigating and move on. The league doesn't need to meet a legal standard. They don't need to worry about how a jury might view the case. They don't have any of those constraints.

Also, all of you crying "but but he wasn't convicted" need to zip it. That's not the standard. A huge % of domestic violence cases never lead to prosecution (or conviction). Domestic abusers get away with it over and over and over. So let's not play the "no conviction" card. Y'all are better than that (unless you support beating women, then you aren't).
I agree that they do not have to meet the legal standard. Conduct detrimental to the league is ambiguous and gives the commissioner a great deal of latitude in disciplining players. In a way it's like parenting, you can displine your children without having to meet any legal standards for conduct "detrimental" to your household. Lol

Read the article about how the personal conduct policy allows for discipline even if not disciplined by league. The issue here is the girl made false statements to police. I don't see how an arbitrator would not turn over any discipline handed down by the league if Zeke pushed it but I'm not versed on the CBA like all the lawyers. Just my opinion.

Josh Brown, who admitted to multiple domestic violent acts, got 1 game. The precedent has been set.

Based on this, Zeke should get maybe 1 series.

But, he's going to be made an example of. So I see him getting a couple of games.

The Josh Brown incident happened before the Ray Rice incident which lead to the 6 game rule I believe.

The league DOES NOT have more information than the authorities. Are you daft? The authorities most likely discussed, in-depth, with the witnesses, the girl, and even Zeke - this is more than what the league could do. At most, they got word FROM the authorities on all the details the authorities have.

As for the league and legal standards - again, players have protection. They have a contract and money on the line, suspensions must hold up and there needs to be good reason behind a suspension. You can't just suspend a player for no reason, so I will ask you this yet again; either provide something we have out there right now or what you believe the NFL could have found in all of this that could get Zeke suspended.

"A huge % of domestic violence cases never lead to prosecution"

And in this case, there was no domestic abuse, genius. I just provided you all the evidence on this, SHE LIED THERE IS PROOF OF THIS.

Instead of your babbling, go read up on this investigation and all of the evidence.

The league is free to continue to investigate, interview, etc.

But please - tell me the "proof" that she lied. You've read things that you think mean she lied. But you don't have like actual proof of that.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...ork-giants-admits-domestic-violence-documents
The documents were part of Brown's final case file by the King County (Washington) Sheriff's Office stemming from a May 22, 2015, arrest following an incident with his wife, Molly Brown. The sheriff's office and prosecutor's office initially decided to postpone the filing of charges, pending further investigation, with the sheriff's office recommending that the prosecutor's office file charges of two counts of fourth-degree domestic assault.
Molly Brown told police that he had been physically violent with her in more than 20 instances during the past several years.

Ray Rice incident was in 2014

IT IS RIGHT THERE IN THE TEXTS! I am not going to post it again. Not only do the texts show she lied, her friend even states that she lied along with how she got the bruises/cuts that she posted on her Instagram.

Haha, I mean, holy crap.

There's a lot more damn proof that she did lie than she didn't. Preponderance of evidence is in Zeke's corner and it isn't even close.

As has been stated above, the girl's own texts indicate she tried to get her friend to lie and the friend (who happened to be a direct witness) stated that Elliott did not so much as touch her. I'd say that's about as good as it get when it comes to evidence. But what do I know about evidence? Afterall, I've only been a federal agent for the past 27 years.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...-elliott-preparing-response-nfl-investigation

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has received a report from the NFL on its findings from an investigation into a 2016 domestic violence accusation against him, and Elliott is preparing a response to the league, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Elliott's response is expected to be submitted sometime over the next week.

Multiple sources close to the situation told Schefter that Elliott could face a one- or two-game suspension, but the league has denied that any decision on discipline has been made, and could not be made until its investigation is complete.

"The NFL is looking to pin something on him," one source familiar with the investigation said.

It is one of the reasons that Elliott now is bracing for a short suspension even if the league insists no decisions have been made, sources said.

Last July, Elliott was questioned by Columbus, Ohio, police after a former girlfriend accused Elliott of assaulting her multiple times over the course of a week. The woman told police that, in one instance, Elliott assaulted her while they sat in a parked car.

The district attorney chose not to pursue charges against Elliott because of conflicting stories. Witnesses at the scene said they did not see an assault occur.

When the Cowboys' season ended in January, Elliott said he wanted "closure."

"I would rather it not drag on this long," Elliott said. "If there was something to find, which there's not, they would've found it by now. The police did a very thorough investigation. It just seems like they're dragging their feet right now. Who knows, man? I'm just ready for it to end."

According to the league's personal conduct policy, a player can be punished by the NFL even if he does not face legal punishment. A first-time violation of the policy carries a six-game suspension, but it also allows for a lesser penalty if mitigating factors are involved.

Seriously Jerry, I know a crime doesn't have to be commited for a suspension but for crying out loud chew somebody's *** in that NFL office....You're the most valuable team in the world, (not that I care about that) but REMIND them.

So basically he will be suspended under the DV banner and the 6 game suspension will be reduced to 1 game because of the mitigating circumstances that he is 100% innocent and Mara doesn't want him playing week one.

Did Zeke sign his contract before or after this "alleged" incident??? I don't care what the NFL/Goddell says, he isn't an employee of the NFL until his contract is signed, not when he is drafted. If this so-called incident happened before he signed his contract, it should be a non-issue regardless. The Oklahoma RB that Cincinnati drafted definitely committed a severe offense and he isn't going to be suspended. Why? Because it happened before he was in the league. No rookie player is in the league until they sign a contract. The draft simply means that a specific team is the only one that can sign him.
