... The commissioner carefully considered the issues raised by the [NFL Players Association] on your behalf regarding witness credibility and alternative causation theories," the NFL's letter to Elliott stated. "However, in the commissioner's judgment, there has been no persuasive evidence presented on your behalf with respect to how Ms. Thompson's obvious injuries were incurred other than conjecture based on the presence of some of her bruising, which pre-dates your arrival in Columbus on July 16, 2016."

Thompson told police Elliott assaulted her on five separate occasions over the course of a week in July 2016, according to the Columbus (Ohio) City Attorney's Office. He was never arrested and prosecutors declined to charge Elliott, citing conflicting and inconsistent information.

"... Given the totality of the circumstances, I could not firmly conclude exactly what happened," Tobias wrote in October. "Saying something happened versus having sufficient evidence to criminally charge someone are two completely different things."

Five separate incidents between July 17th and the 22nd....Zeke lawyers talks about the 22nd incident ONLY ...... BOOM!

They used the one data point they had of her clearly trying to lie in a he said/she said argument to show that she is more than capable of being deceitful to the law enforcement to try and "ruin his career" as she was heard stating by multiple witnesses. BOOM!

hardly the same

I know, this is worse for Zeke...file your appeal, accept the punishment, whether 4 or six games and move on...dragging this out is only going to be worse for him in the end.......and the League hasn't even investigated the nightclub incident yet...which they will!

Simple statement and you can't grasp it. Anyone who only shows up today and is parroting NFL talking points and concern trolling here is either socially oblivious or a troll. Since you can't grasp how that would appear to regular visitors I'd say we've found our answer.

I dont post here because this place is over run with right wing agendas and its aggravating.

I posted here today because I was told I was a moron, was called a Darwin award winner and accused of rooting for another team...you know exactly you are doing today because I was upset the day that the zeke stuff came out last year.

and regular visitors? i have ten times the post count as you. Case could be made i am actually more of a regular visitor than you even with my lack of posts in recent years.

That really is an interesting aspect of this. Did the league put themselves in a tough spot by throwing down such a major gauntlet there with banishment if he gets in trouble again? Because as you said, that's something worth pushing to the max.
They are pulling a Hardy and will offer to reduce with a plea deal but I can't see EE accepting

But they are happy overcharging and overreaching and having the courts and NFLPA defending the "wife beater"

It is a despicable tactic and I wish a federal judge would hold his feet to the fire for abusing the system for good PR

None of this matters, she simply has no evidence in her favor - none. Not witnesses, not the evidence presented, the evidence of her bruises do not connect with the time she was with Zeke.

If you were innocent would you accept your punishment. I would fight to the end, unless I had something to hide.

I can't possibly read this all.

Is anyone in the media mentioning the screenshots of text messages between the liar and her friend?

I haven't heard that side of the story in a while

Now I would like to know what will happen to Eli and the jersey scandal. Probably nothing but that tarnishes the NFL logo also.

Does Gronk get suspended for motor boating a woman in a club? Because that's on tape too.

Ruh roh.

All the actual tangible evidence in the thread and none of it matters to some people. Btw the evidence that she's a liar is public. And was given to the NFL. It made a choice to ignore it and side with this person for whatever reason.

thanks shania.

you keep saying not all but then saying most do. It is kind of the same. That tells me that if you turned on the news and saw a story of a woman who was beaten to death and then found out she liked drugs and sex that maybe she got what was coming to her in some way...You know like nicole brown simpson.
I can see you have the intellect of a broke dick dog.

As a Giants fan, I agree that if true those shenanigans are indefensible also.

Thank God we have Geno just in case!

Something of note........ it seems some people seem to think that if you aren't happy with the decision you are somehow defending Elliott's overall behavior or condone DV or what.

Elliott is a knucklehead. That's obvious. He needs to clean up his act or he's going to find himself in trouble, regardless of what happens with this case. You hope, win or lose here, Elliott wakes the hell up.

That being said, just because he's a total knucklehead, doesn't mean that he or we or the Cowboys should just assume he's in the wrong here and let the league shove something down his throat because they think they can based on their own interpretation of evidence. I think that's what most people are arguing here. It's not a defense of Elliott's knuckleheadness or denying that he needs to grow up.

It's a criticism of how the league, once again, haphazardly reviewed a case and applied discipline based on their own interpretation of facts and evidence.

If they are not consistent, then the sport can be "fixed" by the whim of the commissioner. Thus, no gambling should be allowed in the sport for fear of a fix. The NFL should be immediately removed from every sports book in Nevada. I think we should all write our local congressmen to pass a bill banning the NFL from sports books.

From what I can gather, they claim that based on dates on text message and photos taken. However, medical analysis suggests some of the injuries were older than claimed.

Right and this was a point they specifically highlighted in making thier decision.
