i dont care. i just want my neighbors happy and not wanting to sue me.
neighbors here are worried about mosquitos and i dont want them to blame me when they get bitten having their bbq outside.
this way there is no liability as the county inspects and i just tell everyone the county said no larvae in the pool.
my plan is to sell next year anyway.
I am thinking about starting a mosquito farm!! I like them...especially that little buzzing sound in your ears when you are trying to sleep.

Man, it's not been pleasant with the monsoon pumping humidity levels up ,so your clothes are soggy wet and the steering wheel still sizzles your hand when you first grab holdo_O

Yes,Putty I've ran out of room out in the yard to put anymore kiddie wading pools 3/4 full of water to breed mosquitoes and started to put a couple up on the roofs of my home and outbuildings,,, their thick swarms just explode out of my knee high uncut grass whenever those county Gestapo field operatives come to monitor my mosquito output,,, so far I've been maintaining set compliance levelso_O

u suggested that i farm mosquitoes because rats dont like them.
i presume u dont have a rat problem.
why r u farming mosquitoes?

I forsee angry wild cats caught in peanut traps and a fat rat eating cat food

oh, another thought.
i may get an unexpected win if i get the rat really fat.
it may not fit into the small hole that it uses to get in the gap between the outer wall and inner wall.
exterminators could not find it.
here is to wishful thinking.

sorry fonz. i no longer have internet or cable tv at that house. no live action.
i read most of the feral cats and rats run around late at night any way, so you would need a night-vision camera...
Some webcams can do that even without lights( cheap). As for the internet there are some routers that can pick up a wireless signal from very very far.

oh yes you are right.
my ex-company used one brand of cheap cameras that sensed infrared.

however, these are almost acre lots and every signal i have seen is locked.

Cats actually aren't that great at controlling pest populations. (if it's a single mouse or two; okay, but not infestations of them) Though I noticed you said "rats", not mice which is even less likely. Especially if they are adult rats like you see in the Subways here in NYC. (

Most adult rats are too large for cats to tackle. They are substantially larger than mice.

I had some rats chew through the drywall into my bathroom one year while I was away for about a month. Judging by the debris they left behind, they had quite a party while I was out.

I talked to some folks about my visitors and they said they were probably Norwegian Tree rats. I thought "Norwegian Tree rats? How do they know they're Norwegian? Do they have names like Lars and Sven? Do they wear brightly colored clothes with fancy embroidery, sashes and funny hats? Are they good skiers?" o_O

Anyways, I went down to my local home improvement store and bought a couple of rat traps to "mitigate the problem". As I'm checking out, I notice the cashier is kinda' cute. So right in the middle of me trying to be as suave and debonaire as possible and engage in some witty banter, it dawns on me..... I'm buying rat traps. She's probably thinking.... "This guy's a pig! His place is so nasty its infested with rats! And who knows what else?"

So here I am, thinking I'm Joe Cool and she's thinking I'm Joe Dirt.

Needless to say, in an instant, my self-confidence did a Hindenburg and I mumbled something incoherent, snatched my bag'o traps and scurried out.

well i am also using traps. put a few outside and in some crawl space open to the gap between the walls.

how would u know the cute girl thought u r a pig?

instead of suave, may be u should act scared and unsure.
then asked her how to used them and invite her to give u a hand at home ;)

Ummmm you know that rats like cat food and sardines right? What if you attract more rats to your house.
The first thing you do when you have a rodent problem is to make sure all trash is thrown away, no open bags of chips etc, all food is put up every night.

You are providing the rats with a buffet..... think of it this way...if you got rats, chances are they are hanging around in your neighborhood.
I love sane posts.

The ole country boy in me prays hopes this thread receives regular updates.
