Can Irving get 10 sacks?

Maybe but Irving is like the TWill of the DL he has weeks where he teases you with awesome play then he has weeks where you do not know he was even active.

Irving is our most talented d-line. Tank is the most polished. Id like to see Cowboys invest a draft pick on a 320 pound 1tech.

Id make resigning Irving a priority and tender Tank and if someone bites we get a 3rd.

Im also on the Ansah wagon. Ansah whoever collins Irving sounds awesome to me. Hopefully Taco develops into something.

No way Ansah hits the open market. Teams re-sign decent to good pass rushers with a pulse.

Where's my damned signature???????
Donno!,,, it's got the image box casing-liner of a pic that didn't download ,then a red x

Do you know what the surprise anthem maneuver #95 had planned on doing was Troutster?,,, I didn't get to the sports bar till about middle of 3rd quartero_O

That was 2016. If you want to attach the 2015 season into that, he had limited starts as an acquired UDFA rookie and still flashed occasionally. In 2 of 2 games he's had in 2017 he's already resembling the game-changing, monster form he had in 2 of 16 games he had in 2016. The next few weeks will be telling. Personally, Irving was one of McClay's best in-season acquisitions to date.

Had...

Maybe that’s over. His now in his 3rd? Year so maybe he’s matured into a consistent dominant player. So far this year he has been.

So you're saying we're definitely resigning Lawrence and Irving next year?
Lets just throw some numbers around for arguments sake. Ansah will command more money than Lawrence if he hits the market he is a RDE that avg 8 sacks a year thus far in his career. In a fair comparison IMHO is Olivier Vernon's contract is the floor for what Ansah is asking for 5/85 mil with around 20 mil in guarantees. Personally I think his deal will 5 or 6 years over probably 100 mil with 20-25mil guaranteed. Now Tank has not shown consistently that he is as dynamic as vernon or Ansah and he plays primarily the lesser premier position of LDE I could see the ceiling on his deal being closer to the Vernon deal in a longterm contract or you pay him 17M next year on a franchise which probably hamstrings the Martin negotiations along with retaining Irving.

This. Which begs the question, are we prepared to pay both Lawrence and Irving? I think tagging Lawrence next year is a no brainer and Irving's flashes have grown much more consistent over time. Pass rushers are just below QBs in the sense that if you find a good one, you simply cannot let them go. It'd be foolish for a team that has been a pass rush away from being true SB contenders twice over the past 4 seasons to let a couple flourishing ones go that they've finally found.

But at what price?

To keep both I do not think you can franchise one (tank) and sign the other while also signing Martin. Irving could be cheap-ish since he plays mostly DT

Sometimes I get really pissed at Marinelli's need to have only DTs that have that 'quick twitch'

Just one big 330 lb trash can full of dirt right there in the 1 tech would make a BIG difference

I absolutely agree but Ash actually very well considering he was a practice squadder up until this week. He was holding his own on running plays and getting pressure up the middle too.

I love the pressure that he have shown so far...but, I also want to wait two more weeks to anoint him...after WAsh and KC who have much better offenses...if the DL can continue to get into the backfield, then I am on board...but, again, I LOVE what we are seeing...Taco has not done anything, but rookies rarely do....this is a great learning experience for him

Note: that Irving can also line up at DT is awesome
