It's amazing what a real GM and coaching staff can do!

He lost Romo and didn't collapse last year.

Your analogies are bad. Dak was Qb the whole off season with Romo off because of surgery. Linehan had a whole off season to game plan with him as a new QB to the league.

They didn’t lose Romo during the season.

But don’t worry, Garrett threw Dak under the bus this year for checking out of run plays and playing poorly in games like Denver.

Who? Pederson? Foles played half a season with the Eagles in ‘12 and ‘14. He started 13 games for them in ‘13 and had great numbers. Pederson was the Eagles QB coach circa 2011-12 so he had some familiarity with him. It’s not like he picked him up off the street and coached him up. I’m not positive but I would be willing to bet JG didn’t have the final say of his back up being Weeded and Cassel, he ws playing with the horrendous deck that Jerry dealt him.

Nonsense.. Garrett wanted a veteran like Cassell after Romo went down while Linehan wanted to play his boy Moore..

So who did Garrett want to play?

Moore, the guy that is here because of Linehan and was under Linehan in Detroit for multiple years..

Your wrong.. this brain trust of Jerry and Garrett thought highly of Weeden during the draft way before Linehan even came here.

“I thought, believe it or not, [Weeden winning a start for the Texans] shows to some degree that he was worthy of the opportunity that he got with us,” Jones said. “I’ll never forget we were in the draft room the year before and we were looking at quarterbacks at that particular time in the draft room. And Coach [Scott] Linehan walks in and we look at quite a few, he was out with the team during OTA’s, our equivalent of spring practice. And we looked at some of the best ones that were there, and he said we got a better one than that right out here on the practice field in Brandon Weeden. So, he didn’t get that shot just because he was chopped liver. And I’m not anointing him necessarily one way or the other. I’m proud for him and I’m proud for Houston that they’ve come up with a way to use him in a way that can win a game.”

Jones couldn’t answer a question about why the Cowboys weren’t able to find a way to win games with Weeden, but promised the Cowboys will “do a better job” of filling the backup role for the 2016 season.

If Pederson had Weeden or Cassel as his back up QB I promise the Eagles wouldn’t be playing right now.
You are correct because they arent stupid enough to employ such backup QB's. We on the other hand, grab re-treads swearing up and down they still have a huge up side, draft drug heads, players with a "HISTORY" or half crippled up players all the while passing out the KOOL-Aid cups while singing there holy praises.

So they already had Weeden and Linehan who is in OTAs says the bums they are looking at aren’t as good as Weeden means he wanted Weeden or he picked Weeden?

You know what also happened in 2015? Linehan brought in Moore in September 2015, well after the OTAs and this event.

So tell me again how Linehan wanted a veteran like Cassell after Weeden was benched.

I said Linehan liked Weeden as Jerry said. I listened to it on 105.3. Jerry's tone suggested Linehan was telling him Weeden looked good. Wade Wilson also said during OTA's that Weeden was making huge strides. IiRC, Jerry made the move for Cassell after Weeden wasn't getting the job done, although I thought he played a hell of a game vs NO only to have the defense lose it in OT

Have they won anything? Last I checked the case is still empty...lol
If they win u won't be able to use the lame empty case thing anymore.
Reality will have to update the
Emoji here lol put 1 in the case?

Eagles have good chance to win.
I wonder if gronk will be cleared by then.
I don't really like Phil, but tired of the empty case line.
I do like foles as he is the underdog doing good.

Exactly what I was thinking. Also noteworthy that the Pats have been able to win with backup QBs (including one that the Cowboys couldn't win with when Romo went down). Real organizations with real smart ownership.

Lots of fans blamed Tony Romo for the failures for years. Imagine if Romo played for an organization like the Pats or current Eagles?
He would have 1 or more rings.

You don't see the big picture, Eagles have very good depth, due to a lot of salary cap money. They spent a lot in free agency, if they don't win it this year, they're going to have problems when those payments come due.
The FA moves paid off and got them to SB.
Dallas might have gotten into play offs had they made the right FA moves.
They only needed 2 more wins.
Had they got in, who knows?
No GB, or Seattle to get by.
Could have been Dallas going to
SB!

The lack of accountability and country club atmosphere is what cripples us the most. If you fail you are going to get a smack on the butt from Garrett and an aw shucks from Jerry.

Doug Pederson's success should be a glaring example of just how badly Garrett is performing. The Eagles suffered major injuries and still clinched home field advantage. They were underdogs in both playoff games and won both. Now, they are going to get beaten badly in the Super Bowl (fingers crossed), but the fact that the Eagles have been to the NFC Championship Game 6 times since our last appearance should be more than enough proof that the leadership here has failed.

No more excuses, no more ignorant, rigid philosophies, no more talk of franchise value or art exhibits. Just get better. Get better coaches. Get better talent evaluators. Get better players.

After Jimmy left, why didn't he win another Super Bowl?

Jimmy , according to most here, was the greatest coach/ talent evaluator this franchize has had.

If coaching is everything, why didn't he win another Superbowl?

If you ask me, coaching is as important as the talent on the team.

It has become popular to bash coaching because we lose, but maybe we are just not talented enough...

Trust me, I hate Garrett as much as the next guy, but at the end of the day, coaches call the plays and players execute. Nothing more nothing less..

Now, for those who say that our system is old and outdated because opposing players call out our plays, I have one question...

Is the Patriot's system old and outdated?
It must be because I saw Romo call out their plays time after time..

It's one thing to know what' coming and it's another thing to stop them.

Coaching is overrated.

No what you said is Linehan pushed
for Weeden and Garrett didn’t want him to play, when Dallas had high regards fit him in the draft before Linehan even came here. And you provided no proof to the contrary.

And you responded to my statement that that Garrett wanted CASSELL, because Linehan wanted Moore to play, whom he brought here same year after OTAs from this article where you claimed Linehan wanted Weeden and Jason didn’t.

Garrett wanted Weeden and Cassel. Just like he wanted old veterans as WBs like Brad Johnson and Jon Kitna as backups, and Orton as well.

and who’s call was Weeden?

I don’t know.. maybe the same person that had a guy like Brad Johnson who couldn’t throw past 15 yards anymore as his backup QB here and Cassell, as well as Kitna.

You know the guys whose tendency when in total control of the offense is to go out and yet QB that have played. multiple years even when washed up, but is supposedly a QB guru.

They went Weeden while waiting for Orton to make his decision to come back or not.

I don't think coaching is overrated. It's part of the equation. Coaching, Scheme and discipline is everything. The Pats are winners because they have a coach that has a good scheme, applies discipline when needed. This is why Jimmy won as well. Good coaches don't put up with DIVA bull or players with lack of focus..

There's no argument, the Eagles had tons of money last offseason. They went out and bought some players.
This is stupid beyond comprehension. And in an earlier post you said the Eagles now will be in capHell. Wrong again. They actually have moves to make to have an additional $30 in space. Cutting or trading Curry, Celek and Peters puts money in their pockets.
Which of those players do you see them needing to make another run? None. They will trade players to get picks (Foles and Curry) this run this year is actually two years early. They have their roster mostly in tact for the next two season. I thought that's when they would make a run. Their ahead of schedule.

Anyone who concludes coaching is overrated after seeing the Eagles make the SB needs to re-evaluate their position.
