I love fans masquerading as legit sports reporters. Are we going to publish every fan rant on the WWW?

Regardless of what you think of rules, you can't ignore the consequences of breaking them. Randy Gregory has made his choice. He prefers weed to an NFL career.
This alone makes me think maybe it shouldn't be legalized.

LOL......uh, no.

If you can't lay off weed for a few short years while you make millions of dollars at your chosen profession.....you have the problem.
It's really not any more complicated than this.

How long has Randy been smoking weed? Did he start BECAUSE he had an anxiety disorder? Or is it more likely, he is using that as his excuse because he started as a pre-teen and just likes it so much that he is grasping for any straw he can to justify his addiction to it?

His anxiety/depression today wouldn't be any less real if he had self medicated himself into it.

You can cause permanent changes to your brain that no amount of sucking it up will fix.

I wonder what the NFL would do if two doctor said that Gregory was a candidate for medical marijuana which contains more CBD than THC. That would be a rather interesting ruling as one could still be tested for the amount of THC which is " higher" in the recreational marijuana.

Current DEA policy is that CBD is a Schedule 1 drug as a marijuana extract effective Jan 17, 2017.

There is a current court case challenging this set to hit the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals this month.

I would have hoped that Gregory had doctors looking into prescription medications to mimic the effects of CBD to treat whatever anxiety problem he has. It's ridiculous that he has to search for another drug that works for him when he has already found one that works, but that's where we are as a country.

Until federal policy on CBD, or pot, changes, I don't see the NFL changing policy.

Big pharma PR and propaganda works well, to think that weed is considered a problem....As someone who works with the elderly who are in pain often, it saddens me that most people would rather have people gulping down expensive pills and not weed, when weed works very well.

But yep, a dumb rule is still a rule. Whining won't change it, sadly.
When whining ends up at the voting booth, it will and has changed things. Rec weed is now legal in 9 states and growing.

#1. I'm allergic, so I would end up in the hospital.
#2. It's illegal and I don't break laws.
#3. Don't tell me what I "need" to do. I'll tell you what I need to do, because I know me and you don't.

and you have a problem with dealing with reality as in the real world where you obey the rules or you pay the price. I can see that is a novel concept for you

It doesn’t have to be one or the other. A rule can be wrong and you can call it out, but someone still has to obey it if they want to play.

Right. Agreed. but there are ways to go about change beyond just doing what you want and then arguing against the consequences because you dont agree with the law. Thats the problem these days imo, no patience for change or (yes ironically and on purpose) the process.

Yep. I think the military haircut policy is stupid and unfair...but I had to adhere to it if I wanted a job.
I think speed limits are too low in some places
But in life you don’t get to make all the rules
I don’t like the policy just like I don’t like some speed limits. But there is a price to pay for not following the rules on both
