DOUG FREE WAS A STUD FOR MANY YEARS. The last couple years his mobility was a big issue because of his feet. To say he was garbage is way WAY off. The holding calls he did get those last couple years were do to his health problems..he became a liability. Collins played ok..and should get better..unless we plan on moving him back to LG.

You are either a recent fan or clueless on Doug Free. At his best he was a very good RT but NOT Pro Bowl or even close to it. Maybe top 15 in the NFL.
He was up and down season to season and if you were a real fan you would remember that. He started to go bad due to ankle problems in his second to last year and in his last year was a POS.

I'm a Sooner myself so I admit I'm biased, but Brown is a player that you could see as an NFL starter from his first few games as a freshman. He handled Nick Bosa easily when they played Ohio State early in the season, so he's not exactly a statue out there. That said, he sure didn't test like a LT prospect and may be viewed as a RT only. Maybe a swing tackle if he puts in the work.

What I love about the guy is his mean streak. You can never have too many nasties up front, something that I loved about guys like Kevin Gogan. Zeus has that kind of mean streak, watch the video below at the 2:40 Mark to see what I mean. First play of the game and he sets the tone:

The 40 time might scare some people..but don't forget...Frederick also stunk up the joint w/ his 40. I think he turned out alright. Don't think teams were expeting him to burn up the track anyway...

He should not have done the skill tests if he was going to mail it in

Do the drills but he never should have ran the 40 or cone drill.... at least he kept his shirt on and didn't get a black eye

In the mock draft we just had I took Orlando 16th for the Ravens

Mainly because of his Dad and a big team need..... if we did the mock today I wouldn't take him again

I want him to get to 19. I'm hopeful he's a clone of this guy...

Flozell Adams would suck on this OL. He is a power blocker, period, and I know he played zone scheme in OKL. But Brown is no Flo - he is soft as wet Charmin and as fast as frozen molasses. Our current OL needs to be uber-agile, explosive at snap and athletic because they hang their hat on the best ZBS in the NFL.

LCollins was twice the RT Free ever was

He went up against the best of the best this year and only gave up 5 sacks
Dunno bout that. Thats a reach. Maybe if comped to Free's last 2 years.

If we dont draft a guard Collins will be moved back to his natural position..LG. If we draft a tackle...you watch.

lol...lol...OMG...no that was Chaz Dumpster Fire Green. THATS A TURNSTILE...the purest definition. Free had a couple rough last 2 years..because he couldnt move well. He was widely regarded as the best RT in the league in 2014...so not sure where your analogy is coming from.

He was indeed ..in the Seattle preseason game that ended Romo...I will grant you that. He was old and slow because his feet were shot to hell. It was sad. Thats why he retired.

Funny how we still have a hole at RT..Hmmm.

Apparently, the plan is to keep Collins there which I suppose is fine. I mean, he is adequate. I just felt on my mock draft that Tyrell Crosby (Oregon OT) would be a good move in round 2 as he's similar to Parnell. Then, I'd kick Collins to LG. However, as stated, there's apparently no plan for that, so I suppose we can roll with Collins. So, I think we must get draft Hernandez at 19 if available. In that scenario, Collins would stay at RT, but we'd have a MONSTER of an oline. So, this would be the best course of action for us in my view. Now, if Collins should suck at RT to where we don't keep him, then I'd go RT next year assuming we resign Martin. So, point being, I think Hernandez should be our 19th pick.

no problem with Hernandez at 19....maybe we'll get lucky and scoop up Orlando Brown in the 4th or 5th to groom at OT.
But that probably is too much to ask.
