Well, in this case, it is a Jerry-is-the-problem thread. There are Jason-is-the-problem threads where that's being discussed, too.
Yep. When in Romo...

Jerry sucks because he hired and now won’t fire a horrible head coach. He can become less of a problem by firing Garrett.

Not everybody thinks Jason Garrett is the problem. But people aren't going to shut up about the HC when they're unhappy, no matter what.
Garrett is only the result of the real problem.......Garrett never would have tasted a HC gig anywhere else, and after other teams have watched him the last 7 years I doubt he would even be considered for an OC gig.

So was Hysteria but it's all subjective. I liked them OK until their drummer lost his arm and instead of them moving on, they waited for him to learn how to play with one arm. Then, I liked them a lot. In the days where loyalty is hard to find, that impressed the hell out of me.
Yeah, I agree! Loyalty rocks!

He was the frontrunner in ATL, STL, and BAL before Jerry hired him in Dallas, so that's clearly not true.

He's got a gig in Dallas, so we can't say for sure, but there's a very good chance he'd get another shot at a HC job if he were let go. It might take a year or two, but he's got experience and he's going to interview well. His players really like him. I don't think owners will be swayed by angry Cowboys fans. Especially since nobody else has had as much luck in the Dallas gig since Jimmy was let go.

..maybe winning those 3 90's SB's, ..was a good situation turned bad? He probably thought this is going to be easy, playing it his way, and that adamant thought has never left his mind.

yah, again, you are disconnected when it comes to Garrett. People are tired of him. Its not just the losing, its the mindless, stupid mistakes he makes over and over again. Like the Chaz Green debacle. He shows over and over again how useless he is. And most important of all he has little to no sway over Jerry Jones whatsoever. He is the absolute WORST type of puppet coach that we need here in Dallas. We need a coach that Jones respects and will listen to. A coach that Jones is afraid NOT to listen to. And wether Jerry likes that type of coach or not is inconsequential.

Yeah, I think we know you feel this way. And that I don't buy into the caricature you try to paint when it comes to the coach.

Garrett himself admitted they screwed up with Chaz Green. There is no painting anything when the guy freely admits it all on his own. He admitted he never even thought about giving him help. It was just plug and play, next man up. Same with Zeke. No scheme change, no nothing. Dont alter anything despite the drop off in talent and skill set. Again, he admitted how foolish that was and they are now changing things. Too bad we had to waste another season on his lack of foresight.

You dont buy into Garrett ever doing anything wrong. Thats fine. You are entitled. But when you act like people really like Garrett, when its more than obvious that most dont, thats when it goes to far. You are out on an island with Garrett.

What we want or need and what Jerry will allow aren’t the same and why Jerry remains the bigger problem. Garrett is just a product of it.

Like with the handicap and obstacles Jerry presents to Cowboys Football we must look for ways to overcome our front office and coaching staff.

I’d recommend more elite talent in the key positions as it’s brought us to the brink of a championship appearance a couple times.

I wouldn’t be expecting our leadership in the booth or sidelines to carry us further like an elite QB or defense could.

No doubt. And I also have no illusions that Garrett would probably be a better coach in a situation where he could actually do whatever he wanted rather being a puppet. But none the less, they are the two worst guys you want to put together to run a franchise. A know it all idiot and a lackey coach happy to be a puppet.

And as far as more elite talent, thats the problem. We are top heavy with elite talent, then the rest of the roster are just JAGS. We lose one of two of our top 7 guys and the whole thing goes sideways.

Now if your going to be a little cry baby and come to the conclusion that ONLY a Tom Brady can win here in Dallas so you will hate anyone that isnt Tom Brady, then your in a worse boat then I am.

We have an average to above average defense , a dominating running game with an average QB.

How many teams are going to the Super Bowl without an elite QB or top 5 defense ?

Our defense is average at best. The run game is very good. I wouldnt call it dominant anymore unless they fix the Oline. The coaching is well below average. In my opinion we have a great young QB that is young. You obviously disagree. Whatever. If your waiting for the next Tom Brady then good luck buddy. Either way this team isnt winning diddly if we dont get a better head coach and a great defense. We can argue about the QB till we are blue in the face. Romo couldnt do it either so Im not sure what you are looking for.

We’re a poorly ran and averagely at best coached team. We need all of our elite talent on the field without an elite QB or defense to carry us.

I understand our frustration with Garrett. We’d all like a more proven and experienced HC but that doesn’t appear to be an option with Jerry.

There isn’t room here for a bigger ego than Jerry who isn’t interested in winning without receiving credit he didn’t recieve with Jimmy.

Dak was ranked 16th last year . That’s average.

If Dak becomes more elite it will make a huge difference.

We don’t need a Brady but we need closer to a top 10 QB not 16th ranked.

We need a QB where defenses can’t stack the line . A QB who can make deep throws consistently. Last in the NFL in passes behind 20 yards not a good stat.

Against the better teams and defenses in playoffs we aren’t going far with a great running game, average QB and defense.

Daks performance was better his Rookie season . Without that we aren’t as good a team.

3 out of 4 teams in the championship games were there because of a strong defense. NONE of those 3 had an elite QB. Brady lost he SB because his defense simply wasnt good enough this year. Talk all you want about BRady, but he won when his Defense was good.

For my money, give me a great defense #1, a great run game #2, and a mistake free QB that is a great leader and can win in the clutch. The Tom Bradys of the world come around a couple times in 30 years. And none of those cats can win without a defense. Or rarely.

Seattle is a perfect test case. They won when they had a gread D and a great run game with a young Wilson playing mistake free ball and making some plays. Now they have no run game, the D is fading, but Wilson has come of age and is an incredible Qb that has to do it all. They dont win diddly now.

If you want to talk about Dak, talk to someone that actually wants to listen to your opinion.
