As a note:
Be smarter fans.

When Dallas was talking to Htich's agent, it was leaked they were gonna play Jaylon more at SAM. --a position that only gets about 15 snaps a game.
Now when they are gonna offer Fleming (by far the best swing OT on the market) a deal they are considering moving Collins.

Relax, fans. This is recruiting season.

Thought he played real well in the Super Bowl. I personally liked him coming out of college. Would be a good move as a backup and potential starter, given there pre draft visits they will be drafting an olineman high.

I'm going to just throw this out there, Mike. You do with it what you wish. Maybe if a ranking is telling you Cooper is a better G than Collins is a T in relation to their peers those rankings might be dog crap.

Guard is a different position than tackle... Maybe you didn't know that.

Fact is Collins did not display the needed aptitude at OT.

Some swore up & down that Collins would be a good OT (Uh-hem... just clearing the throat)... And he wasn't.

fleming started at rt for a few games after starter was hurt. in fact i think he was 3rd string but the backup got hurt. he also played lt one game and did well. are pats ot's system players?
thought collins played better and better as he got used to rt? collins was lt in college was projected to be good rt in pros.
now people are saying we miss free??? i guess we did find one player who is worse - green.

Yeah and they all waited until this report to announce their concerns about Collins at RT. Kind of like they dismissed any notion he could play the position when they believed that's what the team thought before the switch was made.

At some point you have to drastically lower your standards or you’ll be perpetually disappointed by this team. And even saying that, I have about 10% confidence they will actually pull off my low demands

lol beggars cannot be choosers

This offensive line improves more with Wynn or Hernandez at guard and Collins remaining at RT.

I would still sign Fleming but as a back up only.

This is odd. Why wait until now to say this?

Does this mean if he isn't moved back to G that the Cowboys have a bad player in the starting lineup?

Nobody walked away from last season thinking Cooper out played Collins. That Cooper is a better G than Collins a RT. Those rankings are worthless.

The XLII threw me. I thought we were talking about a 10+ year veteran. Why is he already a free agent, if he's only 25?

4th round pick 4 years ago. Last year he was a restricted free agent and resigned with the Pat's. This year he's unrestricted and can go anywhere.

Draft a guard- Wynn or Hernandez, and leave Collins. Stop moving players around
Collins should have never been moved from LG. His entire college career he played LT and LG. He is left handed. Then last year we got the brilliant idea to move him to RT (a position he has never played) and doubled it up with another bad decision to move Chaz Green to LG when he had played RT in college. The other day I was watching NFL Network and they were asking an OLineman (can't remember name) what it is like moving from one side of the line to the other and he said this. Imagine wiping your rear with your right hand all your life and then trying to do it with your left hand.

Anyway, no matter how you slice it, signing Fleming and not ever having Chaz Green enter the lineup is an upgrade.

Don't be fooled. They are merely trying to support the team. They don't have any real opinion on Collins. Just whatever the team does is the right thing.

What's it going to be then, eh?

They could be. Scarnecchia is an outstanding OL coach. It is not a coincidence their OL went in the tank after he took a year off.

Not so sound Spagnola-ish, but the Patriots lost Solder already. This means they are down to only three tackles under contract (Marcus Cannon, Antonio Garcia and Marcus Jelks). If Fleming is a starting quality right tackle (i.e. better than Collins), wouldn't they have prioritized bringing him back by now?

Sounds like they are okay with him playing the field and then perhaps bringing back what he gets for them to match.

Archer has slipped into that mode big time recently.

Except when they were talking about Smith to SAM, Garrett basically said Hitchens would be the two down LB as Lee and Smith would be the nickel backers.

patriots never seem to worry about plugging ol. may be that is a brady benefit.
fleming seems decent at moving around, wonder if he can play lg and be a backup for both g and t positions.

That was said before the move made.

Question how did he do in the Super Bowl??

Patriot fans like him. Say he had a lot of potential and a good motor. That’s a plus will be 26 start of the season
