The UFC has gradually gone towards the boxing way of promoting. Big pre-fights, showcase their stars... and it's good. It's something that was lacking from the UFC for some time. But this is straight up WWE-level campiness

I hope you guys are right, that this isn't condoned and is decried by the UFC. That they remain consistent and distance themselves from such theatrical behavior. I just don't see it. I think they are at least happy it went down, if not in cohorts with Conor's camp.
This is 100% decried by the UFC I think Dana and everyone is shocked and upset it went down. Dana loves his fighters and wouldn’t put Conor over them at this point.

Well, I meant behind closed doors. But I appreciate your point of view, 3rd.
I get what you mean! I really mean in my personal opinion but just seeing the body and verbal language given by everyone like Dana White the closest thing to a greedy money grab people wanna get from this will be lawsuits in court.

The Khabib vid is all part of this marketing ploy, too. Like Risen said, when they fight it will be the most viewed UFC fight ever. This **** builds it up.

You guys are reading way too much into this stunt UFC is pulling
Can convicted felons get a license?

LOL "the consequences"

The assault charges were misdemeanors, so evidently no GBI etc. The felony was the damage to the bus.

His lawyers will plea it down to a nothing charge. And he add's millions of dollars to his purse through hype and publicity that his shenanigans creates
Ever heard of lawsuits? Could easily lose his passport as well.

I honestly can't believe people think this was a set up. McGregor got the payout of a lifetime fighting mayweather, yet people think he would risk the lawsuit, felony and misdemeanor charges, in hopes of a fight with khabib.

It’s on video....and to justify what conor did on your end I could say what would think if you were in the van and nothing to do with their drama but yet got glass in your eyes or lacerations on your face?

This isn’t a case of DWI this happened at a sanctioned event where employees were injured.

Well if I was justifying what Conor did you might have a point but I'm not so you don't. What am I doing though is correctly pointing out it was Khabib who started this incident playing punk gangster and rolling up on one guy with his whole team around him and laying hands on the guy. If that doesn't happen then the other thing doesn't happen. So Khabib isn't innocent. Yet he seems to be getting free pass from everyone in the media and the UFC.

I'll light a candle for those injured.

No. McGregor doesn't need to fight Khabib. Khabib needs to fight McGregor. Conor can fight anyone and make major money. Khabib has never been in a big paying fight in his life. He's making chump change Saturday night compared to a McGregor check.

He flew in from Ireland with a bunch of goons, committed trespassing, and attacked & injured ufc employees and fighters who had nothing to do with this high school drama.

He could have easily sought redemption in the octagon, instead, he acted like an immature child and will now face the consequences.

Actually I think he just went eye for an eye. You jump my team member, well now we're jumping you. Seems logical to me actually.

Those "consequences"? They are laughable. He will actually gain from this in the long run after paying off the "victims". He'll make that back in spades. Watch and see. It's why Mike Tyson made a fortune after coming out of prison.

Conor didn’t do much thinking. Khabib could have jumped Conors teamate but they didn’t. Conor made it about him and it backfired.

I don't think he'll be a convicted felon when all is said and done. And as far as fighting, I'd be surprised if a felony conviction would get one banned from fighting.

Conor McGregor, the world's most popular MMA fighter, isn't getting banned. He isn't going to jail. He's gonna make money off this, Rockport.

Yeah, he's going to lose a ton of money. At least 3 lawsuits that he's sure to lose. Just depends on how big the award is.
What can they sue for? There were only misdemeanor assault charges. Since everyone in here is playing the "what if" game, I'd venture a guess that if any of those fighters were seriously injured, he would be facing harsher charges. The only felony is for property.

Oh, sweet child.

And, according to you, he did risk the "payout of a lifetime". Any fight Conor has is a huge payday, doesn't matter the foe (Mayweather excluded, obviously). These outbursts he has just create more buzz for him

Conor is facing 12 charges
https://www.___GET_REAL_URL___/amp....mcgregor-criminal-charges-ufc-barclays-center
It’s from SI so take that how you want on the source but according to the article he faces two felony charges one that carries a maximum of 7 years and another that carries a maximum of 4 years while also having at least one fighter file chargers against him. Will Conor serve a sentence? Prob not he has a lot of money to fight this but it is in New York and he isn’t a citizen.

Washington Post reports 4 charges

Lots of misleading reports out there. It's understandable in this sort of spectacle.

We'll see what happens.
