Stop that, brutha. There was nothing wrong with that post.
I don't want to stifle discussion here, Runny, and I don't know when I'm being a prig or in the clear. Better to error on the side of "just delete" then come across as a condensing snob.

We have the Music thread to dissect music. I don't want to stifle people's opinions here. It was a very rude post, imo.

Regardless, I do, so very much, appreciate you having my back, my boi. Thank you, brotherman.

I deleted it. it was rude, CC
Naaaaah, those were not your best and that's OK but there's a diverse bunch of folks on here and I am waiting for a country artist to show up.

So, I've got this lawyer bud and he's never mentioned much about music and he's rich and got that suave and debonair thing working for him, and 4 wives, and several of us start a discussion, argument, about best song ever written and he offers up George Jones' "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and stopped the 5 of us cold. First of all, it was him but when I do think about that song, it is the perfect country song. Don't know about song but hard to beat as a country song.

A mighty fine candidate, I was wondering which Stones album would show up. If greatest hits was part of it, Hot Rocks would have gotten a nod from me.
In the end Exile on main street will outlast all the other albums mentioned in this thread, unfortunately i won't be around to say it was so or say i was wrong. Take my word for it or not, i still think it is what it is.

For pop music, it's MJ. And as vast as said genre stretches, he might be as influential as any band/singer/artist mentioned.

His dance moves and choreography are used from everyone from Timberlake to Bruno Mars. His epic videos in the 80's, made by top Hollywood directors were a first. He wrote his music. Choreographed his music. Danced his music. And performed at 100%.

Thriller and Off the Wall are somewhere on that all-time list, for me. Genre- pop. Bad isn't too far behind, either.

I remember when he'd jam with the JACKSON 5 on American Bandstand with his breakout solo hit of "BEN",,,

I don’t have a favorite overall, but Appetite for Destruction gets my vote for best rock album ever. Go ahead and hate.

Funny you bring this up. I noticed on my Google Play Music charts that this album had appeared in the Top Charts menu (they dropped a remaster of the album I believe). Anyways, that prompted me to listen to it for the first time in YEARS and I forgot what an amazing album that was.
