He will stare right at an open receiver and won’t throw it. That’s lack of arm confidence. And he’s late on a lot of throws too.

Dak was simply better in his first 18 games. Something is in his head now.
Lack of legitimate coaching would be my guess!

Romo lost the Seattle game.

Parcells was coaching that so that is NOT PERTINENT to the discussion.

It doesn’t matter, Garrett is not taking you anywhere or winning anything. Dak is playing bad, is Garrett doing anything about it? No, it’s his usual “need better execution.” Never is he accountable for what is wrong with the team.

For all that you say that Romo made Garrett look good, he didn’t win anything. Romo got crucified here on this forum the whole time he was the QB.

Don't get me wrong. Not blaming Dak either. Garrett is coaching Dak after all. He has done a diahrrea job helping the guy.

Doesn't fix our problem at C with the absence of Travis Frederick. Try as he may, Joe Looney is no Fredbeard.

What if...

We are 1-4, Dak is playing like crap and gets hurt. Rush or White come in and wins 6 out of 8 of our last games.

Do you draft Justin Herbert next year?

Prob not in that instance because that's too many wins and would use up too many future draft picks to move up. What we really need is to make sure we have one less win than the Giants they are the only bad team right now that doesn't already have the QB of the future on the roster. 4-12 should do it.

I'm not sure most of the open receivers he isn't seeing are downfield where arm strength is an issue. I just think he isn't reading the play and getting rid of the ball. Even if he is seeing open receivers downfield that usually will mean he waited too long to make a decision. On downfield throws generally a QB has to understand the route and coverage and let go of the ball before the receiver is fully in the clear. If he is waiting to see clear separation he is waiting too long.

I agree there is something in his head. Maybe trying to do too much, but whatever it is, the more he fails, the stronger whatever is in his head will get.

The offensive line isn't exactly amazing right now, but that's partially due to the fact that defenses are sending 8 or 9 rushers each time. No line can survive that. Dak has install fear in defensive coordinators every time they blitz him. If he's not the guy, we have to draft one.

-Martin is not the problem

-Collins is not the problem

-Tyron Smith is not the problem

-The rookie at guard is not the problem.

These guys didn't suddenly wake up one day and forgot to play their position. Their job is just harder with Prescott as the trigger man.
If Dak sucks then tell me how he completed 78% of his passes, had 25 TD's 4 int's and a passer rtg of 105 in 2016? Tell me how a ****** QB does that.

Not sure about 8-9 rushers but teams are certainly not afraid to get beat deep with Prescott.

He holds the ball for too long and he also runs into the pass rush either because of no pocket awareness or because he freaks out and tries to run.
Glad that you see it too. He doesn't trust he can make a tight throw and so he panic. A QB that scared to throw the ball when team are daring him to throw it

Dak is just a small part of the problem. Our OL has NOT been playing well and our coaches cannot figure out how to fix it. Dak isn't sinking the ship, it's the guys with the headsets and the ones sitting in the box seats sipping whiskey.

Yeah 8 or 9 is high but I did see something where Dallas’ offense has been blitzed more than any other team through three games. That’s surprising given that Dallas has been way behind in two of those games. So if true that means teams don’t think Dak can make them pay.

give him the best offensive line in the nfl and dak's best skill set is still to run the ball. "dak needs to run more because he can't throw"

This is exactly what has to happen.

Yes, even if it is all Dak, you're not going to improve the QB here if you keep Garrett and Linehan here. They're completely useless when it comes to player development.

I can’t yet turn on Dak. I need to see him play in an offense that uses his skills better. More RPO more zeke using tavon in the jet sweep.
