Yep but it started before that when wrestling on Turner was beating MNF on ABC with 18-34 men. They tried bringing in Miller thinking that might fix it but even Miller fans, like myself, didn't like that. Not enough him and too much football.

One problem is cable needs more commercial time because they can't get the rate that the nets can get so they need more spots to deliver the points.

That's about share, ads are based on ratings points, % of the population, so it doesn't matter about ranking, just who can deliver the points the agencies are looking for and if you watch closely you are seeing more of the same ads within the games. How many of those Chevy spots or that ugly gremlin kid ripping that Pizza Hut box in half have you seen?

Ratings are down across the board and it's totally understandable why. MNF was great back in the day as they would run all of the Sunday highlights at halftime and I would finally get to see my Cowboys. Today I have been getting every Cowboys game for the past 22 years, MNF does not serve the purpose it once did.

Ha, it is already unprofitable for ESPN, they cannot break even. Their reaction to competitive cable nets starting up and staking their claims has caused major blood letting with personnel.

Rights fees can be hindrances which is why the Cowboys have had so many flagship radio stations, they cannot make a profit on the games.

That's the "lose money on every deal and make it up in the volume" thinking and it doesn't work. If they weren't paying so much in the other rights fees to keep FS1, NBCSN and CBSSN out of it, they might ne OK but they've bitten off too much.

They also know if they can't keep MNF, it is most likely to end up on one of those 3 cable nets. They had the birds nest on the ground for a long time but now the crows are circling.
