The offense was terribe plain and simple. I dont know how to say it so you can understand.

you would have to be a fool to think that offense was average. Whether it was injuries or suspensions, the offense sucked, period

Answer the question. It wasnt hard at all.

Is a team that is 14th in ppg and ypg terrible?

You'd have to be a fool not to be able to answer this correctly.

Yes. The 2017 Dallas Cowboys were a teribble offense for a majority of that season. They had some good scoring games, but if you watched with out rose colored glasses, you would see that the offense was terrible.

Like i said, we made changes to our offensive coaching staff because the offense sucked.

The majority of the season they were terrible you say? Yet they scored nearly 30 points on 50% of their games. Everything you say is pretty easily refuted.

I feel like Cooper is a good player and may be worth a 1st round pick. It's really all going to depend on how high that first round pick is, to be honest. The financials are a definite draw back, in so far as contract numbers. The risk is that you take a player who may not develop, of course. There are some really good WR coming out next draft though. Seriously, I really like the talent coming out.

That's interesting. I heard the opposite. I don't follow the draft very closely, but I heard that the WR talent coming out next year is not all that great.

There are some very good college WR's but this is not considered a good WR NFL draft class; however, how many #1's end up not being that and how many later round picks end up being great? Just because they say so don't make it so.

However, I was for the trade and still am because he is a proven commodity at the NFL level and felt anything they get from him this season is icing. He was the pick for the future that they would have used in April anyway because the need for a #1WR was apparent to anyone.

Prepare for hearing about the player the Raiders take with that pick for many years. And the assumption is that he would be a Cowboy and no one knows what they would have done with that pick.

My only regret is the debate we don't get to have about our #1 unless I am successful is establishing the well founded rumor, from a very reliable source (my imagination), that we will trade back into the 1st round.

I don't agree with that at all.

Metcalf
Whiteside
Samuels
Harmon
Harry
Campbell
AJ Brown
Marquis Brown
Ridley
Edwards
Johnson
Humphrey

and my personal favorite, Shenault and that's not all. There are still more I can't remember or haven't really watched. I think this class is loaded at WR.

I agree with you on that. I would have rather given up a 2nd and 4th, but were splitting hairs, and the value could go either way depending on where the cowboys end up picking.

I disagree with you here, and this is probably why we disagree on most of this thread.

I have and continue to believe that you can win with Dak Prescott, but he can only carry a team so far. Mahomes is in another league, and has twice the arm talent that Dak has. Even during his 2016 season this board we were divided on Dak, and it wasn't just because of Romo.
It isn't about physical talent, at least not the point I'm trying to make. It is about the hype and spotlight of being the "Next Big Thing"

Don't think many of them will translate that well to the NFL.

Harry is the guy I like the most, and if we let Beezy go, I wouldn't mind grabbing him if he magically falls to the 2nd.

Well, what got was an even split..going back to the Unitas days...15 later rnd QB's, and about that same for 1st picks, with quite a few 1st rnders being listed as BUST...I still think, we have a diamond in the rough with Dak, a lot of peeps don't like him and that's fine, but when JJ signs him long term, he is NOT going to cost us the farm, cattle, breeding stock and all our chickens to keep...a lot of those teams with the young studs, are going to be paying a premium to keep them come signing time. WE can win with Dak, and I will say it again, a lot of what is wrong with him this year is due to piss poor coaching. Not saying he doesn't have his limitations.
It's not an even split. Most good QB's are 1st rounders.

As far as super bowl QB's, there's a ton more that goes into a super bowl team than just a QB. And the few great QB's who didn't come from the 1st round skew the stats. Montana 4, Brady 5.

I'm really not sure what your agenda is, but getting a good/great Qb outside the first round is mostly just luck.

The trade is indefensible. Unless we win the superbowl we have sacrificed a piece of the future in

No, because he's not the final piece. Played well so far, as well as anyone could with Dak as QB.

If you are looking to slightly improve your WR play for 1.5 years at all costs in order to perhaps win 1 more game and perhaps be slightly more relevant that I guess you could say it is a success.

no.

to pay for a position when you need all your resources for another is never a good idea.

its the way to create media hype and revenue thru that. but never the right way if you really care about the big game.

When the draft begins and we finish this season 8-8 or 9-7 and exit the same way as always I wonder if the poll will be different?
