And this is why I actually give a little credence to the things that you post. You've never been a rose colored glasses guy but at least you have enough objectivity to lend credit when it's due. I've been around here for a long time. You and I have gone rounds before on several subjects but I always respect the fact that your coming from a position that's genuine and typically well thought out. I may not agree with your stance 100% of the time but one thing that I'm certain of is that your not trotting out some mouth breather trope over, and over, and over again. That's not the case with a lot of the posters around here, lately.

I always sign off when I talk to you with "Nice talkin' to ya, brother" (or something of the like) even when we disagree. I type it because I mean it. Half of these whiny *****es with one single argument for EVERY SINGLE THREAD that they enter, I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire. I feel sorry for anyone who has to associate with those whiners in real life let alone actually have to depend on them.

Good to see you again, brother.

Same here, thanks for the kind words. Maybe things would be better if people used those a bit more, even when they completely disagree?

Some of you seem to root against the team literally every week. You minimize the wins and micro criticize everything the Cowboys do.

I really wish some of you would go find another team to root for. Seriously.

Some of you clowns have been predicting losses the past three weeks and lamenting every win. You are holding out hope that the Saints can get us back to our losing ways.

I hope we beat the Saints and crush some of your hopes and dreams. Lol.
It's kind of amusing to see a fan actually melt down because his or her agenda isn't working out as planned.... At the same time though, it's sad and mentally draining to constantly see the negativity towards our Cowboys. I guess that's because I enjoy building vs tearing down. I'm not too much into demolition.

For example, I hate clapper with a passion but, if this team keeps bringing me quality wins every week, .I can tolerate him and keep my hatin mouth shut.

Many fans get caught up in the roller coaster wave of emotions that parlay during the course of a game/season. You look at any teams “Zone” and you’ll find the exact same content. That’s what makes forums like these interesting. I, for one, like to get a feel for varying opinions on all things in regards to the team.

Just go with it.

I see a bigger problem of the pom pom wavers and jock sniffers. Those that will defend mediocrity just because it's their favorite team.
We fans who witnessed Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson have a higher standard.
As a Cowboys fan I feel entitled to a championship caliber team every year.
This team shouldve had at least three Super Bowl victories in the last 23 years.

Agreed, the lack of respect around here has gone down IMMENSELY in the past several months. I'll admit that I've been guilty of it, lately. I just get so sick of the stupidity and I let it suck me in. I'm an idiot for letting ransom strangers suck me in to that type of back and forth (makes me dumber than them because I see it coming, to be honest, and I still jump right in).

Honestly, there's always been a measure of negativity on this (on ANY teams' board) but in the past the negativity was rooted in some measure of provoked thought (for the most part). Lately, it's been the same boring message from the same turd posters in literally every thread that they post in. It's absolutely the lamest **** I have seen since I started visiting this board over twelve years ago.

I hope we win but we still have Jerry, Jason and Linehan around. We may win some games and sneak into the first round of the playoffs but we will never do better than that. These last 20 years have proved that. Call me a clown all you want. I don't want us to lose but I'd rather lose now than continue this very long streak of mediocrity.

Why does a positive fan have to be names like a pom pom wearer &/or jock sniffer just because they support our Boys through thick & thin?

I too have enjoyed the Landry and Johnson years. Yet still, I can also find a way to see today's glass half full.

There's a difference between spirited disagreement and just pure viciousness. Just my humbled opinion. . .

Who's defending mediocrity? I witnessed the same era of football that you did there, champ. There's a ton of us fans that aren't any happier with the 23 year drought than you are. But to whine in every single thread about the (pick your aspect) of the team even when we win isn't being a fan. It's being a *****. That's a fact.

It's funny you mentioned the Tom Landry era. He mustered two Super Bowl wins in 28 years as a head coach. This was in an era when he had to deal with no salary cap or free agency (and I LOVE Tom Landry).

Yes. There is a difference between being frustrated because you’ve seen the Cowboys not go deep in the playoffs and just saying Dak sucks or Dak is dumpster scum over and over. And then when he pulls the game out like this week not at least acknowledging he helped us win.

Agreed , Garrett is the number 1 reason for our atrocious post season results , IF we even make them .

Dak just got here late .

With a real HC, everything in the last decade would be different .

For all the people basking in the win, all I can say is that someone like Bill Belichick wouldn't be...and that is why he has won 5 Superbowls.

I might expect or hope for too much. I concede that.

But the reality is that your QB cannot miss a ten yard pass to a wide open receiver in the End Zone and take a brainless sack forcing the team out of field goal range.

Do people really think that we can beat a good side in the Play Offs with such incompetence?

Maybe I'm a bit too optimistic Jerry Jones style but I think we are a Safety away from having an elite defense and we have so many weapons on offense excluding the QB.

We should be an 8-3 team, i think 9-2 or 10-1 but I push for high expectations and getting the most out of any quality I work with.

And that's my gripe. I'll be honest, I'm not convinced that Dak is the answer AT ALL, yet (in fact, I lean more towards the argument that he's not). But god ****** give the kid some credit when he helps lead us to a win, for Christ's sake.

Can you really blame the fans after 22 years of Jerry BS????? Sorry...you can only sell the fans the same song and dance so many times before they quit buying.

3 Weeks ago...I was ready to fire Garrett, Linehan and Prescott. Done w/ them....Get them out.

Now we go on this 3 game win streak vs 3 teams...

Atlanta...completely injury riddled...have been all season

Philly....still drunk/hungover from the Super Bowl

Washington...Just lost their starting QB

And you are wanting me to buy into this circus of a franchise????

So...I'm not a what have you done for me lately fan....I keep score....and Jerry still has a butt load of catching up to do.

So as you can see...I'm not buying in...I watch too many games..and break down film to see we are a poorly coached team.

The Fan Zone is a fascinating intersection of anonymous people. I did not always see it as such though.

Way back when, I first thought the Fan Zone was where an unbelievable number of like-minded folks would get together and talk X's and O's, why plays work or do not work, strengthes and weaknesses of opponent rosters and coaching, etc. Perhaps it might be a place for 'general discussions about the Dallas Cowboys' as it related to gamedays. Sort of like a continuous gameday experience with a humongous bunch of buddies.

lol. It isn't and never was in my opinion. I have watched Cowboys games in person when they played at home or away (Superdome mostly when they were away). Fans are usually what I expect. They cheer good plays and <expletive> about those that fail. And drunks are always funny.

That is a good thing. Games are exciting or frustrating enough. Who wants to be at a game where everyone around you boos the players every other play? Whines about Jerry Jones every possession? Loses their minds every time they decide to focus their attention on Garrett standing somewhere on the sidelines? (Where is that red headed fart? I know he is clapping! I can FEEL it happening!) Berate whoever is the team's current quarterback every down, even when the defense is on the field? Every down situation hearing this player sucks? That coach sucks? That guy sucks and he is no longer on the team?

Who would want to sit through that every quarter of every game? And through every Meghan Trainor halftime show? That is why the Fan Zone is incredible, where never resolved personal misgivings about anything connected with the team, imagined or not, are therapeutically released in a 'closed' internet (talk about contradiction) environment. Day in. Day out. Where the focus on Sundays is not the game itself but on everything that pisses folks off that day through Saturdays 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year--including Christmas.

Game day threads are the best shared fan experience any Cowboys fan could ever hope for. :D sigh. :(

/long-winded rant
