Some of you guys wear this Dak stuff out and need to stop listening so much to the Cowboys hating media outlets. He was like 24 of 28 or something like that....that's hardly a liability.......he does have a couple of critical things that need correcting and hopefully the off season will bring in some competent coaching in to address that............Garrett + Linehan + Moore aren't competent enough to coach up anybody.

Something else I've noticed. Look at the Patriots, Chiefs, Saints, Rams, all teams people can say have good QBs. I missed a few but leave it at them. Watch some highlights and see how many times these QBs are throwing to wide open WRs. Yeah Brady is good but I saw a pass to Hogan with no one within 10 yards of him. Same goes for a lot of the games of the other teams. They have a lot of WRs getting wide open in short order. Makes it a lot easier for a QB. How often do you see Dak throwing to a wide open guy? Not often because they're not getting open. Cooper is being targeted more, why? Just something to think about, and is why I sometimes pump the breaks in my trash talking of Dak.

How good did Brees look without players breaking free downfield?

It's no more ridiculous than people coming on here calling others haters and fake fans for pointing out some unpleasant factors about Dak's game.

If you think we can win the Super Bowl with how we run the offense now then that's your opinion. Justify it however you like.

But there are some very legitimate limitations that Dak has that could become problematic longterm that are valid concerns.
Any given Sunday. The cowboys are good enough to beat the best team in the league and at times pathetic enough to lose to the worst

There is a lot of parody in this league . I love Dak but he pisses me off holding the ball like he does but it’s also compounded by the line especially at RT. There are plays when the defender is there quick. Also they don’t handle stunts well. No Fredrick no Tyron will contribute to that

Collins sucks. It’s also compounded by the coaches not putting Dak in a the position to be successful

The line got a bit better when Williams went to the bench and the offense in general got better with addition of cooper

Dak wins and that should be the focus he’s young and has a lot that needs to be improved but if your expecting him to be like Romo ( who was flawed also especially early on) you are going to drive yourself to drink

We are not a qb away from a championship we are probably a OC a Good TE a healthy line and perhaps safety as well as improved qB play away

Relax and enjoy the ride is what I do. Dak probably helped contribute to a couple losses this year no doubt but let’s not forget he also has been key in wins

This is team game and when I look at the front page of every forum I visit I know that it’s a hot button topic and is over exaggerated and agenda driven

Easy tiger, I agree his pocket presence is a problem. Mostly I hear he can’t pass. So when he’s 24-28 and makes the run of the game I want those against him to understand they’re being irrational and not looking at the facts. He’s also on a nice little stretch and that’s also been downplayed.

He leads the league in fumbles. He MUST fix that and I say he will. He’s clutch and he wants “it”.

5 picks doesn’t sound like a lot. How many td’s? Let’s count rushing td’s too since we’re talking fumbles and ints.

When he makes the right decision and throws it confidently, his arm is fine. I don't think his throwing is an issue. But I cant overlook pocket presence, decision making, and footwork. You simply cannot be a consistent QB without those. Those things are getting worse, not better.

This team is set up for multiple super bowls if they had an elite quarterback.
Well they had a good one but he was a pretzel so it don’t do a lot of good if you can’t stay on the field.

You think San Fran misses jimmy G. Or noe Washington although I’m not sure there’s a huge drop there with McCoy

Dak stays healthy and he wins he just looks like garbage doing it sometimes

I’ll take wins over stats every day of the week

i mentioned about a week ago, with some blowback, that our D is borderline top 5 and could heat up near the end of the season. I didn’t think they would look THIS good, but we may have just mentally broken the Saints.

LVE is the #1 reason for this, he has changed the entire way this defense plays, which is becoming far more aggressive with tackling and getting takeaways. While I’m still not completely sold on our secondary, Awuzie and Brown stepped up last night.

The offense is a different story - this is reminding me a lot of what we saw last year with the Jags. Yeah, it was great we dominated the clock, but we put up 0 points in the second half and topped out at 13 points.

I don’t like Dak, but there were some positives - that run where he broke two tackles for the first, that got me pumped up....then goes on to miss Gallup who would have the game clinching TD and proceeds to fumble in the red zone. You gotta make those plays, dude.

You can win a Super Bowl with the level the D is playing at right now - but the missed opportunities that we had last night and the turnover, most of the time great offenses will take advantage of these and luckily our D broke the Saints.

Some kudos needs to go to Garrett - I think he feels his seat pretty much on fire right now and he had this team prepared against the most dangerous team in the league. Jerry, see what happens when you don’t allow your coaches and players to ever feel they have job security?
I have to say it’s a combination of several events as follows: drafting LVE, Jaylon Smith’s recovery, Byron Jones finding a spot and excelling, and coach Richards influences on D.

He is but a lot of it is because of his own doing. Hes holding the ball way too long. When is the last time youve seen Dak intentionally throw it away?
Good point but I think Dak still remember the offensive line from 2014. He had all day to complete a pass. The team needs to incorporate more 3 step drops. I think Noah Brown can be a player. He might be a sleeper player by the end of the season.

What was his YPA?

8.9?

Let me guess there’s a couple of throws we need to omit from the stats to get a true picture of his performance.
People always want to criticize by eliminating the best plays. If your going up be fair statistically, eliminate the the two best and the two worst completions, and then do the same for every other quarterback.

IMO #1: We won the game against one of the best teams, right? funny how people just want to fight for the sake of fighting
IMO #2: Dak is in a conservative system where the team (on offense) plays not to lose instead of to try and win; we haven't seen Dak chuck the ball down field because it invites inherent risks like interceptions; so Garrett and Linehan don't call for that often (and I dislike them quite a bit for many things, as you may may noticed)

on defense, the team has learned to fly to the ball and to me, that is like having a high-flying offense - the risk-reward is great - the Dallas D has a very good risk-reward ratio on defense (as seen in the NO game, for example, but they were already highly regarded); on offense, vanilla, the opposite of risk-taking...

...I have said in numerous threads that we need a Riley-type for OC next year; in that scenario, Dak will make mistakes and many in the 'zone will roast him for it; but then the team will have balance and the opponents won't be able to key on Zeke and stuff the box....and most important, Dak, being a highly intelligent player who studies, will learn and be a better QB for the mistakes that he makes

...for now, while the offensive ineptness drives me absolutely crazy, I only put a portion of that on Dak...he hasn't learned to take chances yet because his coaches won't let him and that is why, for example, that you see the pass to Gallup that was a TD for an experienced QB sail over his head...disappointing and partially on Dak...but c'mon, 24 of 28 in this game is impressive for any QB...they left points on the field but in effect, forced NO to NOT score in their opportunities - they played to not lose and in this case, they won

Our fans forget how long it takes to develop a QB in the NFL.

Aikman took about 3 years.

Meredith the same.

Staubach took 4 years in the Navy playing on his leave.

These were all Day One draft picks except Roger..

who would have had he not had his hitch to serve.

So DAK is well above schedule so far and has some experience to acquire.

Not worried.

Worry......as this QB has Tim Tebow written all over him...no amount of time will make him Troy or Roger....not even close...sorry,.....

If Dak just used his legs more I think he could elevate the offense that way but sitting in the pocket he just doesn’t make plays.

He takes forever to make decisions, has no pocket awareness, fumbles wayyyyy too much.

Dak has nearly identical air yards (which doesn't factor yards after catch) to Romo. 8.0 vs 8.2 with nearly the same COMPLETION %

That means Romo only threw it 2.5% farther than dak on average. If dak can't throw Romo is only 2.5% better than trash.

Dak is doing this in his rookie contact years. What's your explanation for their similar air yard attempts?
