What really concerns me about him is how most criticism seems to not motivate him or even up his level of play week to week.

There have been lots of bulletin board material some weeks where opponant players say "put it in Daks hands and we have a chance to win".

Dak sees it, accepts challenge, have his annual score drive, blow the rest with sacks and horrible passing, and barely escape defeat.

Recently this season there have also been Cowboys greats criticizing Dak and he still turns in the same level of performances.

Dak just doesnt have it just like aikman said, and imo Jerry should not extend dak. It will be a huge mistake and will bring this fanbase years more or rollercoaster ride football yet again.

We are at the vary end of the season with the playoffs about two weeks away and I am still looking for that motivational factor.

I am willing to go as far as saying a new coach or QB coach wont even help this guy. Some are born to be a QB and some are not.

Maybe you're more cut out to being a bandwagon fan, just hop on a different one every year that way your team will always win.
How will you react when we win, just curious? Will you even root for the Cowboys to win, just curious? Will you complain and whine and say we should have lost because of whatever excuse makes you sleep better at night?

I've always been a cowboys fan so your insult to my fandom doesnt bother my one bit!

And if I am a bandwagon fan then I am clearly doing it all wrong rooting for Dallas when there are clearly better teams out there winning lol.

If Dallas wins then I will be satisfied. If they dont win I wont be satisfied.

Cowboy fans are spoiled and that's the way it goes.

You do realize that Dak Prescott this season has a better QB rating than every single year of Troy Aikmans career except 1?
Take a look at Aikmans record, Completion Percentage, Rating, TD's, Int, his first 3 seasons and compare this to Dak's.

Let me guess....Its a different league now right? Well we run a 1992 offense so its not as different as you want to think.
Romo at one time had the 2nd highest QB rating of all time. I didn't believe it then, and I don't believe it now. Stats don't tell the whole story. If you accept those stats about Dak then you accept Romo being a top 15 QB of all time.

You’re probably right, I was thinking Romo is in the top 25 of all time

Why stop at Aikman? If you want to compare Dak's stats to other QB's of Aikman's era, then Dak is better than Marino, Kelly, Elway, Moon, Farve and others. You folks are crazy looking at these "stats" in a vacuum. Hell, Dak's "stats" barely have him in the middle of the pack this year when compared against his peers but somehow they compare favorably to the great QB's from other eras? This Dak slobberfest is insane.

for the cowboys to win in the playoffs dak is going to have to be much much better than he has been he will have to make plays in the passing game

I don’t agree with a majority of the negativity towards Dak but I do absolutely agree with this. He’s going to have to pick it up and be better in the passing game for them to make noise in the playoffs. Performances like his last two games won’t be enough.

Agree. Why stop at Aikman?

I’m not even sold on Dak as the answer. But the one thing I am tired of hearing is grown manbabies crying about how awful Dak is and not offering any solution for how we are going to upgrade his position.

So you’re up to bat my friend.

How are you going to upgrade the QB position?

What kind of question is this? Just stay pat at the most important position on the field and settle?

There's always a plan if a team wants to upgrade or at least attempt to upgrade the position. Philly and the Chiefs both did and KC was coming off a playoff year but they didn't want to stand pat with Alex Smith. I'd trade Lawrence and/or Jones, both of whom could command 1st round picks although Jones is borderline if teams would give up that much. No player would be off limits in exchange for draft picks to acquire a QB in the draft.

Couple things-

Don't read these posts aloud using a crying man baby voice. That should help you with that first part.

Second- not a single poster here can do anything at all to upgrade the QB position for the Dallas Cowboys. This is a forum where fans give opinions. Conveniently, the format is the written word, which means any suggestions about what some are hearing are actually windows into their own predilections.

You're a genuine wordsmith (totally sincere compliment). Remind me never to get in your cross hairs.....

They changed his motion, he's never been the same since. In his rookie year he made great throws, he was deadly on the short stuff, he was deadly on the run, he had the touch to drop intermediate balls on target just behind the LB's. Now I'm watching him miss on short stuff, why? his mechanics have totally regressed.
I promised I wasn't going to weigh in on Dak till the end of year 3. BUT...
I'd say he's earned a mediocre contract which can be redone in 2 years.
However, we must get a QB coach and a OC who will put him in a system he can flourish in.
I agree, I didn't care for Wade Wilson, but he at least had extensive experience, the coaches job is to put the players in the best position to succeed, and Moore and Linehan just don't get it
