It’s a fine line sometimes choosing or sensing where we are. I want to believe we are on tract but it’s been so long and the process has been tiring with so many frustrations and disappointments but I think at some point you have to place some belief or support in the efforts made and the attempts to steer the ship in a better direction without the results your seeking.
I understand those who don’t . There’s always a divide in beliefs and some simply need the results which is fine but at some point I think some belief is healthy even if it doesn’t fully develop.
Unlike with players and those in the organization fans don’t need to buy in or believe. We reserve the right to conduct our fandom and patronize however we choose.
Ive been an apathetic disgruntled angry fan for a couple decades now but I want to believe as well. Some success isn’t going to forgive the poor decisions this dysfunctional organization has made under our selfish egotistical management . I’m not sure if we’re ready for the next level but I certainly don’t want to be on the wrong side of history sensing our time could be approaching.
I didn’t sense what we were on the verge of in 1992 headed to San Francisco but knew we were headed in a better direction. And I’m not trying to draw comparisons in these teams just the emotion and feelings attached that I didn’t need the results to want to believe in the process.
And while I certainly agree with some of the hesitation to acknowledge the process is more positive I think you have to bite a little into it with the dedication and passion we have following and supporting a team. The emotion is part of the journey which includes heartbreaks and disappointments.
I truly believe we are building something more special than we have in a long time. We’ll see if it’s fruition comes to bear but even if this is as good as it gets I’ll still applaud the efforts put forth and like to think I’ll enjoy it even more if they succeed.
This is a results oriented business while being an entertainment entity. I’d say I’m being entertained much more now even without the ultimate results we’d all prefer. Winning championships isn’t why I became a fan of my local team. It just made it more intense and fun.
As much as I’ve despised Jerry’s ways this era I have believed in Garrett’s influence despite the obvious justified criticism and Ill continue to support him as his efforts have provided me some hope when I had all but lost it with this organization. To each their own.
Go Cowboys!!
