This is a legit good idea. And we can simply ignore most of the dumb reasons people make up as to why he might not want the job. This could be a really interesting move for him.

Garrett will insist on someone he knows and can force to run his system. Those are the names that should be thrown around.

I always thought our best chance to dump Garrett would be when we moved on from Romo. New QB would open the door, and even suggest, it's time for a new system. But we had magic in 2016 that got Garrett over the hump, and that consigned us to wasting the opportunity to develop an offense around Dak, thereby developing Dak.

A young talented team and an owner that always pays high salaries. Plus I don't think Kubiak has ever had an OL anywhere close to the one he would have here.

Add another weapon for Dak, get Frederick back. You’ve still got Zeke. Nowhere to go but up in the highest profile OC job in the business. It’s great job.

The only big draw back could be the lame duck HC if the extension rumored aren’t accurate.

Kubiak or DeFillipo.
Kubiak works for me.
I'd bring him here tomorrow.

Several teams were denied interviewing him b/c the original plan was for him to be Denver's OC...........but that is not looking like it will happen. I think it would be a great fit.

Anyone have a better idea?
I would love Kubiak

Kubiaks system is based on moving the pocket and stretch plays.

It’s exactly what this team needs. He also has some west coast concepts which would help with slants for Dak

I thought Kubiak was hanging onto his NFL career by a thread due to health concerns?

Introducing Kellen Moore, the new OC. You said anyone.

I was for Moore taking over for Linehan this year. Anyone But Linehan.

Now that we're talking offseason, we should find a real OC. Though I do admit I'd find it hilarious to see Linehan replaced by his pet chimp.

Less cynically why would you make a young QB learn a whole new system during a contract year?

Making a QB learn a new system is always a risk. No doubt. But, if the system is a better fit for them, it could make us better off in the long run.

Hiring the right OC is going to have a major major impact on our teams future.

Not as a HC, he wants significant control over the offense. Part of the Denver issues is he wanted certain assistant coaches that Denver didn’t want. His role in the organization was more like a “co-HC”

And what offensive assistants are we married to? Aside from Colombo, I can't see Garrett caring too much about the others.

Gary Brown is Zeke’s guy. He’s not leaving. Sanjay did a nice job with Gallup.

Neussmeier did a good job with TEs.

He's a WC guy. He was Steve Young's QB coach and OC for Mike Shanahan.
He'd be perfect for Dak, Zeke, Cooper and our athletic OLinemen.
