Morning Pops and friends!

Very strange to be sitting home at 10:30 a.m. on a Tuesday, and even stranger that there are 2 other adults in the house, neither of whom have crawled out of their rooms yet.

As you know, I'm out of work until my shoulder heals adequately.

Adult #2 is my niece, who works in theatre, and has very irregular hours.

Adult #3 is the ex boyfriend and baby daddy of another niece. They moved here from the Pittsburg area, to live with her mother and my brother, along with the baby. Now that they've broken up, and he doesn't know anyone in CT, he wants to stay near his son, so I told him he could stay here for a month or two, until he can get a place of his own. He's 33, and sleeping in the basement room that was previously occupied by my 56 year old brother.

Hopefully, once I get him out, my brother will realize he lives at his girlfriend's house and take all his crap, so I can have my studio back. Then all that's left is for my niece to find a job near her girlfriend, or her girlfriend to find one near here, so they can move in together, and I can finally have my house to myself.

I may reply when I figure what you wrote... Goodness.

Hell, I thought Thanksgiving was bad!

I am still working on that ex boyfriend and baby daddy of ANOTHER niece. Is he the ex of the first niece or the second and not to be prying, but you did bring this up, did he get the second niece pregnant before becoming the ex of the first niece? One of the nieces seems to have given up on men and if they both dated this guy, who could blame her?

Lemme know when they're all out, I've never lived in CT and can take over the basement. Need plenty of space for my tuba.

I guess my wording wasn't as precise as necessary. I was typing as the thoughts entered my head, and since I mostly know what I meant, I failed to remember that nobody else does.

When I said "another" niece, I simply meant a niece other than the one living in my house is his ex, and the mother of his son.......So I've only spoken of 2 nieces, total.

Doesn't everybody do this? That's my excuse for typos.

Actually, I type as thoughts are leaving my head and really should be asking myself if they're not leaving for a good reason like they had no business being there in the first place? That phrase "alone with my thoughts" is terrifying.

Unless it's a smartassed comment, I usually choose my words, then type them.

Morning Pops and friends, oh dang... Afternoon Pops and friends. (I typed this last night and my internet went wonky so I couldn't hit reply.) Good evening Pops and friends. I got into a fight today and wasn't about to let myself win. I had to whoop me up one side and down the other, but I got one important thing accomplished today. They don't give out tiny Lombardi's for that, do they? The Super Bowl was determined to be a snooze no matter how hard I looked at my TV and indignant snorts snorted. Sean McVay should be up for an Oscar with the Meryl Streep like subtle emotion he released on the sidelines. I think I was rooting for both QBs to be sacked hard the first quarter and then hoping ANYONE would find the end zone. You miss quality entertainment when the Cowboys aren't invited, so they got what's coming to them. Serves 'em right.

It's a real shame that those of us not interested or not watching the game aren't in close proximity to one another. We could not watch together and still have the food and beverage.

While I will not be watching, I have decided not to forego the food and adult beverages than make me feel like a kid again. But no guacamole! Egads, just think of all of those poor innocent avocados just minding their own business and getting slaughtered by the millions for the most over-rated thing to adorn a chip. And don't get me started on those poor wingless chickens unable to fly away to escape their future. I hope those aliens out there deciding our fate aren't watching these gluttons today.

Make this a special Sunday. Do something constructive instead of wasting the hours on this over hyped just a game. You married guys can score some points to be used at a future date of your choice. You really want to score, and I am talking legendary status here, take her to a chick flick and cry. You probably will have to keep from doing that on the way in but at the first poignant scene, let the river of tears flow.

First SB I didn't watch, I took my wife to see "Yanks" and lived in legend after that. I never did get around to telling her I thought it was a porn movie.
To quote Gomer Pile: SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!!!! Now to follow along behind you and repeat it several times per day.

Be safe and enjoy your time in the swamp, ColoCowboy. Try Popeye's Chicken if you haven't yet. The biscuits are no longer legendary though. We've already had a state day of mourning for them. Flags flew at half mast for two weeks - yes, they were that good.

Runny, it sounds like you need to spray your home with Rid-A-Relative and bomb for foreign fertile dingleberries. I could loan you my farting Yorkie. She's run me out of plenty of rooms.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning Pops and those not napping already. Weather is unseasonably warm today and tomorrow but could see some snow mix on Friday. What's amazing is that the locals talk about this change like it never happens and it happens every winter. The only thing predictable about the weather in this area is it's unpredictability and the TV weather forecasters and I like that very much. Poor people get buried between the news people and the, most of the time, goofy sportscaster, and they deserve their shining moments.

Seriously, the weather folks out of Austin were over the top good during the October flood that wrecked this area. Every TV station had crews here and were very involved with the safety of the citizens. Even though some ignored the orders to evac.

They lowered Lake LBJ by 4' and Marble Falls by 7' at the end of December and the damage is shocking. For those that might be familiar with this area, between the Wirtz Dam on LBJ and the bridge over Lake Marble Falls, not one structure was left close to the bank, all were wiped out. They dropped the river so people could make repairs or build new docks but it looks like quite a few on Marble Falls have decided to not replace their docks/boathouses. I spoke with a guy that has a place on Marble Falls, close to the bridge, and he said when the gates on Wirtz were opened, it was like a horror movie and he'd never seen water move like that and there was debris, docks, boats, pwc's from upstream just being tossed around.

Morning, Pops and pen pals. I've been wondering about the expression, "drawing a blank". How do you draw a blank? As soon as you put a mark on the canvas it's no longer blank. These are the deep practical and philosophical things that go on in my mind. Have a great day, everyone.

That is not a literal statement but a mental one and I oughta know, I got a whole book of blanks and not to be outdone by others, I make copies of my blanks because to the trained mind, they're like snowflakes, no two alike.

And as long as we're questioning these statements, how do we know there are no two alike? Have they looked at each and every one of them? I think not, it's just scientists trying to convince us they're smarter than we are. Like that global warming thing, I have it on "good authority" that's a hoax. And I will have validation tomorrow as the high will be 40.
