If they buyout whatever salary they take back, they will still have a max slot in the offseason. After that they will be very attractive to vets willing to take the vet min.

They wont have any problems filling out their roster with quality players whatsoever

In 2007, the Celtics had 6 players on their roster after the KG trade.

Oh, I have no doubt that there will be players available to fill out a roster but that doesn't win you championships, which is what this is all about. That just fills out your roster. I don't see that as being a good solution to the problem. Point here is that I realize they can afford another big salary but they can't sign quality FAs to replace what they are giving up and pay three max contracts IMO.

It won us a title convincingly in 2008. Get your 3 stars and fill in with vet min players who play for the minimum to chase a ring. Worked for us, then it worked for the Heat

Dont know.
Yes because at that time NO will be running out of time and will feel more pressure to get a deal done, they don't have to worry about that now because they still have time and can play hardball with LA, and that's exactly what they are doing.

They can play hardball with LA because they need someone to pair with Lebron. LA needs to make a deal with someone at some point. Lebron is too old to carry that team

Charging uphill to win a battle is a bad idea and if the Lakers don't know this then they deserve to get robbed.

The Celtics will have already made 3 of the FRP's by the time they can make a trade. The only one of real value they will likely have left is the Memphis pick

Tatum is the real target. Boston wouldnt have to give nearly as much as LA if Tatum is on the table

That's not my concern, my concern is what i mentioned. Boston will have timing on their side and might even decide to take Tatum off the table at the last second and NO would be left looking like idiots and pretty much have no choice but to take what Boston offers. This is about knowing how why and when, not player value.

And the Lakers offer will still be there if they do take Tatum off the table.

No it won't. The Lakers will trade Kuzma or Ingram with Ball for someone other than Davis. Bridges are being burned between NO and LA as we speak.

I dont know about Bridges being burnt. Lakers still seem to be very invested in trading for Davis

Ok will see if a deal happens by the deadline and what the price is. Maybe LA has lost their senses and will pay whatever price is asked.

Not for nothing, but if they make that trade once Lebrons contract that will look like a big win for LA. Those pics will all be late firsts, and Ingram is the only player they are giving with a legit chance to be a top 25 player. And most if not all of the vets traded will just bought out and return to LA anyways.

Whoever gets the best player usually wins the trade, and that will pretty come down to Ingram VS Davis. Kuzma was good value, but he is a scorer who doesnt any real defensive upside. And Ball is extremely limited in the half court. While LA is possibly winning championships, NO will struggling to win 40 games

Or Maybe Davis and Lebron won't play well together or not like each other very much and the whole deal is close to worthless.

But at some point you have to make a swing. You guys are on the cusp of being the first team Lebrons been on to miss the playoffs for the first time in 13 years. And he isnt getting any younger

Come on, big deal if he misses the playoffs, is Lebron that much of a baby that he can't endure one down year? Maybe he should of stayed in Cleveland if thats the case. Weakness is not a trait much admired.

We've gone off course with emotionalism and fear tactics. Lakers will do what they want, and i will judge as i see fit.
