When Lawrence played on the tag, he was taking a huge risk. That money was not guaranteed against injury. Let's say he got hurt in week three and missed the rest of the year. That would have cost him around $14 million.

And on top of that he would have been entering this offseason as damaged goods and would not get the kind of money he would have otherwise. Lawrence played "good soldier" for the Cowboys and it worked out for him.

I agree with you that the money thing in sports is sad, but let's try to look at this from Lawrence's perspective. He does the same thing guys like Khalil Mack and Olivier Vernon do and should get paid as much as they do, too.

Not Mack money. No. No. And No.

Not a big fan of him flashing the devil horns, not family-friendly... He's a good player, plays with heart... his off-the-field stuff could get tiresome...
Ridiculous, the history of it has nothing to do with the devil, quite the opposite actually. The only people that made it that way are people like you, no offense. I’ll take the “horns” over Zeke’s dumb feed me gesture that could also be interpreted in a not so “family” friendly way, haha.

DLaw needs to stop..

He's gotta act classy with this whole thing, because even this BSU fan values what's best for the Star above all else...

I haven't even watched any of it; I just really think he needs to set a positive example of leadership.

The more Tom Brady (team discount) type mentalities we have on this roster the better...

I'd almost rather see him walk than to act like a d-bag regarding his precious money.. Greedy, me first players are a plague upon most every team sport...

Greedy? D-Bag? Based on a harmless video??? Some of y'all need to stop. And yes, Lawrence should seek as much money as the market will bear. That team first rah-rah jazz gets put on hold when it's time to negotiate a contract. And yes, Tom Brady is an anomoly. An extreme case that the 3 major American sports will likely never see again as an elite level player as a FA.

I'm sad to see DL throwing down the gauntlet but he's played hurt most of last season and predictably expects a return for his loyalty. Jerry and Stephen would obviously want most desperately to keep him around when they're undoubtedly feeling uncomfortable being pressured financially to retain everyone that they'd like to keep aboard. No doubt, DL feels he's deserving, after having put his body at risk last season.

Obviously, the FO will uncomfortably be forced to make some difficult decisions between now and contract time. I'm certain they seriously want to retain Lawrence, although, also feeling, they'll also want to sign the other players who will want their compensation as well. Guys like T-Will, the "Bease" and maybe even Lee might most likely be forced to depart. Let's see what develops when the time comes to make the best of some tough decisions.

going to say it again, he isn't in the elite group of players like Donald so he will not be paid as such. Then again, they play different positions. DE doesn't garner as much as what DT'S like Donald.
He’s not gonna get Mack money which is best comparison but he’s gonna get 20 mil a yr
Donald is in a while different ballpark
A DT who can rush the passer like him is about as rare as Risen complimenting Dak

He got 17 million last year, about what he deserved for his play... has no reason to whine about money... he's got plenty of it compared to the average guy... sad that money has become such a big part of football talk...

What you mean is it's sad when it's not happening to you, so you want others to shut up about it so as to not remind you that it's not you. Lol.

There’s a wide chasm between what Vernon makes and Mack makes.

I’d take Lawrence back at Vernon’s contract. That’d be an easy decision.

Wish people would think about the consequences of flashing the devil horns... it's not some innocent thing... the man upstairs is watching everything you do...it was a big turn off this year seeing the whole defensive team doing that...
" OK let's see, looks like you lived a good life. Took care of your family and helped others when in need, donated to charity, and played for America's team.....what's this? Flashed devil horns a couple times? ETERNAL SUFFERING FOR YOU.":lmao:

Everyone here asks like it's their money, and they are Scrooge McDuck.

I'm for the Joneses paying Lawrence what it takes to keep him or paying an equal alternative what it takes to replace Lawrence. You can't build a team if you continually let your building blocks leave. You've got to keep adding parts not replacing the ones that you have.

The more he gets the less players we can keep

it is only business
