If Dak is average in 2019 and we don't come close to a Super Bowl

why would you be opposed to drafting a replacement in the 2020 draft or allowing one of the current backups to get a chance to start and letting Dak walk? This is assuming he doesn't get paid this year but will be in 2020. I would really like to hear why Dak would be worth keeping at that point.

Better question:

When dak signs his 6 year deal in a few weeks will trolls like you disappear?

They are about to pay him 30 million a year he better be spectacular. If not what a joke and waste of cap space they could have used to get known play makers in free agency. Will set the team back years if he is getting paid 30 plus million and is average to above average.

What if Dallas wins and keeps adding to the core they got. Will you stop all your dak hate threads? Of course not.

Actually Daks career stats puts him above average if you look at almost every starter their first 3 years. Sure you will have a Mahomes that clearly has outplayed him but Daks stats are much better than just average or bellow average. Now if you are using experienced QBs numbers after their first 3 years years different and unfair

Dak has had one of the best first 3 years in nfl history.

Another pro bowl season. Lol

Poor little petty trolls can’t take the embarrassment.

Meant Taco. And yes, Im going to assume he sucks in 2019 because of what we've seen so far and the lack of opportunities hes going to get to redeem himself. LVE is the 1 solid guy I referenced.

It is my honest answer. You can call Dak average, but average is not a bad word. Sometimes good enough is good enough. Your DT position is not good enough. Draft a DT next year, keep Dak, will probably see better odds than drafting a rookie QB mid-to-late first round and rolling the dice on a bargain DT in free agency.

Is making the pro bowl average? Lol

Maybe we can find a guy like Christian Ponder to replace Dak...jk

But if you take what I said and apply it to my question you'll see we simply can't keep adding to the core they have. That's the very reason this thread exists. So put aside your hate of my opinion and answer the question. Or just avoid it altogether. Beasley is gone, I wouldn't be surprised if this is Lawrences last year here. And now there's talk of Jones being out next year. But it's ok to add to a depleting core as long as we have Dak, am I right?

Lawrence is going to be a Cowboy for atleast the next 4 yrs. The biggest reason he isnt signed yet and its smart by his agent is no agent wants to be the first to sign. Youre just setting bar for the next guy to get a better deal. Plain and simple.

Byron Jones is nothing special. He is Brandon Carr 2.0. He can cover very good in zone that keeps the wr and ball in front of him, but once he's forced to turn and run he's not that good. As the end of the yr and playoffs showed us.

Where is this team depleting? They lost anybody of significance?

Maybe I have to spell it out for you, but if we're going to pay Dak a mega-contract what makes you think we're going to lock up all the great support we have drafted long term? We're basically going to be going against our process once Dak gets paid. And don't compare Jones to Carr. Carr was basically an all you can eat buffet for any receiver wanting a career day.

I like my qb. You hate our qb. Your the troll.

So will you get lost or just cry like a baby louder when our young stud qb signs a new deal?? Lol
Everyone hates some aspect of this team.

It’s either Jerry, others Jason and some Dak. Take your pick. Maybe they still hate Romo. No one in social media era was targeted more. Twitter gives every moron a voice.

And hate is such a millineal social media phrase. I’d call it being critical even cynical. It’s a phrase too may want to use to discredit an opinion because it’s not aligned with theirs.

We see this rhetoric across the board on social divides. Basically if you don’t like what I do. You’re a hater. So shallow...

You could say that with about 16 teams each season

Wheres this mega contract ur taking about?

Dallas can easily pay Dak 70Mil in 4 yrs and restructure the money into another big deal. They did this with Romo his entire career from the point he started games. You post are extreme ignorance to the workings of a players contract if you really think because media says 25mil annual avg that hes on the hook for 25mil every single yr.. Contracts dont work that way. Dak will make close to 200mil over the course of his career on 3 contracts that are restructured. Exactly the way Romos was. Now do i have to spell it out for you?

We shall see how tight things get. But I'm thinking Dak is going to be getting 5 years, $150 million, regardless of however you want to break down his annual cap figure. I see what this team has built, I see what we have accomplished, for whatever reasons that may be, and I get a bad feeling we're digging ourselves into a bigger hole. How many top paid QBs missed the playoffs the last few years? Is Dak better than that? And you talk of the media which I have not paid any attention to regarding Dak or their rumors.

Do I have to spell it for you again, though? Would you be opposed to a new QB if Dak is average in 2019? Why would he be worth keeping at a top contract (just go off my outrageous assumptions) if the play doesn't match?

yes, but you're forgetting the part where we've built a team with a low salary QB. If Dak looks average and gets paid top $$$ for his position we are literally throwing away our chance at success over the next several years since he will need players to elevate him, not the other way around. If we can't afford more support how do we win?
Think of it as Dak occupying the portion of the cap Romo's dead money was on.

please answer the question. And the rookie doesn't have to be better immediately or a 1st round pick like most are assuming, although being better at some point would be a bonus, but that's not what this is about.
Because it doesn't make sense. Why would you let Dak walk to draft a 1st rd QB? Being a 1st rd QB doesn't make you a great QB. What we have in Dak is a QB that is still growing. Great leadership. Great intangibles. And a WINNER. Why would I let him walk to take on an unknown? You know how stupid that sounds? Even taking a backup....that sounds hideous. Why would I set us back when the window of opportunity is so small to get to the Superbowl? Not saying he'll get us there, but I like the chances better than drafting a QB in the 1st rd. Or...a backup.
