Of all the things Garrett has done that I disagree with, the basketball buddies or whatever they were called was the worst. Beyond dumb.

I always thought it was a political move to keep him close to the franchise players, of course other than Witten he outlasted them all.

https://1053thefan.radio.com/articl...-leadership-says-jason-garrett-sabotaged-wade

“Romo didn't have the it factor to make people around him better. I think when I was there he thought he was bigger than the team. It was like Romo and then the team. Like nobody in the locker room is really going to respect you like that. I really don't respect him as a player based on what he did to the team where a lot of people didn't see.”

"He was a great player and got all the numbers and stuff but I'll take Dak over Romo any day because Dak has the ability to make people around him better. You'll run through a wall for Dak but Romo, hell no."

When asked to clarify his remark about making people better, Hatcher went on to criticize Romo even more.

"Romo was feeling like he was a Brett Favre and I'm like 'dude, you ain't do nothing. What have you done? You got your own space that you leave ... don't come in the locker room an interact with your teammates, but you call yourself a leader? Nah, partner. It don't work like that.'

Hatcher was asked about what happened around the time the Cowboys fired Phillips and if the team quit on him?

"Let me tell you something. I'm going to tell you the truth. I saw Jason Garrett sabotage this man."

When asked if Hatcher believed that he said, "absolutely."

"We ran three plays three freakin plays (before Wade was fired). I don't care what the media say. We was flying around. We was out of pads in week 7 (in 2009). We was beating people's heads in. Now we go into camp cupcake (in 2010) and do what Wade don't want to do. We get in pads, we beat each other down. We tired, we not fresh. And then you go and call three or four plays (Garrett on offense) till this man gets fired."
Can someone please translate for me? I think it might be English but not sure ......
Thanks.

Not necessarily. Not everyone who was in a position to know something is since and fair minded in what they say, and even if Hatcher was sincere, different people on the same team can have different perceptions. Jason Witten was on the team and he undoubtedly has a different opinion about Romo. I’m sure others too. And, who knows - maybe a few that believe as Hatcher does. So who do you believe?
He’s definitely much more credible than anyone on this board. That’s for damn sure. I will believe him before believing anything these Romo infatuates say. Why??? Because we’ve heard this before from other players. But they all have it wrong huh? Lol

Hundreds of players played with Romo.
Hatcher is not saying anything that hasn't been said by at least a few teammates of every single QB that ever played many years in the NFL, yet didn't win a conf championship or Super Bowl.
If you add up all the players that played with Romo--literally hundreds--even if 10 of them said something (which they haven't) you would get maybe 3-4%.

Those that latch on to stuff like this already had an issue with Tony and decide this massive minority opinion is the all encompassing truth.
You clearly WANT this to be as hatcher says....not what Church, Murry, Witten, Lee, and probably 100 others think.
That's your right

Lots of personalities in every locker room.

Where was his double digit sacks when Ware was getting triple coverage? Wasn't the defense ranked near last place that year?

The Garrett stuff I agree 100%

So what you’re saying is that you only believe the positive reports from teammates? What about all those who say the same thing about Romo? They’re not credible?

I'm sayin there are many opinions in a locker room, and from years of following the Cowboys, I think although Hatcher is not completely alone in his opinion, it is an outlier overall.
That's how he saw things. That's fine.
Still scratching my head on why he's gone so pubic about it, but again, it's his right to do so.

Personally; do I think Dak is a more natural leader than Romo? Yes. I think that might be his top quality
Does that mean that Romo was a bad leader or some sort of jerk? Hell no. Not at all.

That doesn’t negate the fact he was actually on those teams and saw what transpired on the field and in the locker room. Hatcher is speaking on what he experienced. You’re speculating out of infatuation

Hatcher is not just giving an opinion - he's also adding baseless claims. Go through the thread where not a single person could counter me on my questions and my citations provided.

Also, Hatcher is the dummy who tried to say there was a conspiracy against the Commanders due to their name. He was laughed out of Washington because of that. The dude is all about conspiracies and is simply not very bright.

We are all welcome to our opinions about this. But this isn’t the only time this has been said. I’m from the old school. Where there’s smoke there’s usually fire

I’m sure he knows more about what went on than you do. Your opinion is based on fandom and feelings. Not actual experience. Hatcher was there. We were not. How are you authorized to say Hatcher’s claims are baseless? Because you love Romo? Come on man!!! That’s just silly. Your claims are actually the baseless ones

You continue saying because he was there, he "knows more" - bud, I'm not interested in his petty feelings that Romo didn't give him the attention he thought he deserved. It's not shocking that all these dudes that speak out against Romo either have controversies of their own or mug shots. Maybe, just maybe, Romo was really good at distancing himself from trouble makers?

And what he says still has to hold up - the bigger problem is his claims about Garrett.

Your man crush is undeniable. I believe Romo thought he was superior to his teammates. Aside from Witten. And if you look at it objectively you’d see evidence to that. For instance. The Cabo Trip. The superstar identity he assumed while nonchalantly saying his life was bigger than winning football games. That was an asinine statement. We all know our personal lives and family are more important so he didn’t even need to say that. But he did! In my opinion he came off as the small town nobody who didn’t know how to manage the spotlight. But in front of the cameras he would mostly say all the right things. I believe it and I was one of Romo’s staunchest supporters during his early years.
