Agreed but some children always want their parents' affection no matter what. Just look no further than Tyrion and Tywin as an example. Tywin deserves getting killed sitting on the toilet but Tyrion regretted having to do it.
He should have let him finish, there has to be some civility and some thrones are sacred. Poor servants, bad enough they have to haul his dead body off the toilet, someone had to wipe him. I wonder if there's a special position within the king's household, Wiper of the Dead King's Butt. Be a pretty cushy job until you were called into action unless there was a lot of practice and training involved.

I felt like this thing turned into a romantic comedy.
They are setting up the drama and tension for when Daeny realizes Jon is the rightful heir. She is not likely to give up all of her dreams and aspirations she has spent the last several years fighting to achieve. I have a feeling Jon won't even want it, but she is going to have issues with it regardless.

It will be interesting watching how Sam deals with the truth of Dany's punishment of his father and brother. Sam is extremely loyal and I doubt he would ever turn on Jon but no one ever truly knows which direction GOT will take its characters. I am sure Sam will be empathic of Jon's love for Dany but can Sam's friendship for Jon survive this test? I hope so.

Sam's news has rocked Jon to his core. How does he reconcile being in love with his aunt? I have little doubt the revelation of knowing both who he truly is and who his biological paternal family is will impact him extremely but he is a Stark also. The Stark family has been Jon's primary self-identification, one he has always fought for acknowledgment.

Jon has always wanted to live up to Ned Stark's ideal, to protect his family and The North--so much so that (up to this point) he placed those over his own desire. Does the revelation ultimately raise the option of ruling above his past desire? In my option, he will not seek the throne UNLESS Dany does something that will endanger the welfare of the North and the Seven Kingdoms. News of Dany killing Sam's family did not shake his bond for Dany. I think whatever event that would spark Jon into rebelling against Dany will be extremely powerful.

Olenna Tyrell gave Dany her best advice: "Be a dragon." She has always sought her birthright and has gone through hell to reclaim it. I believe Sam was right. Dany would not renounce her claim to the Iron Throne, even to Jon. Personally I am in her corner 100%--unless she turns into Cersei...

Many in the North, loyal to Jon, will refuse to bend the knee to Dany. If she tries to have them executed, I believe that is where Jon will draw the line at supporting Dany. That is when he will make his claim to the iron throne and demand Dany bend the knee to him. And I believe one of her dragons will be loyal to Jon as well. But they come together to defeat the walking dead men. After that its anyone's guess what happens. And then there is still Cersei and how will she take advantage of the rift between Jon and Dany.

I’m a fan of GOT, but this episode had a strange vibe. When Danaerys(sp?) and Jon Snow went out for a dragon ride I felt like this thing turned into a romantic comedy.

I was half expecting to see a scene of Danaerys trying on multiple wedding dresses in a fitting room to the approval of her closest girlfriends.

And now it turns out they might be brother and sister?

Did anybody else catch that?

Arya will use her Faceless Men ability to get within 10 feet of the Night King. Viserion catches her scent just before she spears him, says to himself, 'Doesn't smell like White Walker to me', roasts her alive and then swallows her whole.

...and she uses the Valarian Steel (known to kill white walkers) dagger slicing Viserion a part from the inside! It's this CGI work that is the reason season 8 took two years to make!!!

Then she takes her place upon the throne!

I can see the North's refusal up-and-until they witness Dany and her armies helping fight to protect them against the White Walkers. She may not convert everyone but I do believe their sacrifice will sway a portion of popular opinion in Dany's favor.

Now I must be honest and say I would be shocked seeing Rhaegar siding with Jon against her. And it would blow my mind if Drogon did the same.

The Cersei angle is really intriguing. Cersei is exactly the person capable of exploiting any difference of opinion between two individuals.

It is true! Viserion bites Arya in two, just like Drogon did to that Sons of the Harpy guy who charged like an idiot at Dany. Arya's upper half kills Viserion from the inside out but she bleeds to death afterwards because... well... she has no body left from the intestines down.

With this fight coming, I don't think loyalty is a thing that matters. When it comes to battle, Jon (Aegon) is giving the orders, not Dany. Dany never did, she always had generals giving battle orders. She just steered the political boat.

You and @JoeKing may be right from that angle. I can see Dany getting royally (pun intended) ticked off seeing leaders of the North not acknowledging Jon could have only defeated the monsters by using her men and dragons. That level of disrespect would tick me off too.

She is his aunt.

...which actually doesn't rule out their romance since Targaryens were known to marry within the family to keep the blood pure.

Edit: oops, just saw someone already shared this.

In seriously anxious to see how that plays out. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has been wonderful as his character has evolved. I think thats going to be a crushing scene
If anyone can talk his way out of his dilemma (and possibly with Tyrion's help) unlike Little Finger, it is Jaime.

I dont think he is going talk his out of anything. I think he is going overcome with shame
Just had a thought. Maybe Bran may say something to save Jaime. Not out of compassion of course. Jaime did paralyze him but Bran sees the whole picture and could have foreseen Jaime playing a critical role down the road. Bran could possibly sway Sensa, Arya and/or Jon's opinion...

You knew him pushing Bran would come back to haunt him. He will definitely die at some point because of it.

Get a grip, man. And call someone to come watch it with you, preferably with a sedative.

The only question I have is can someone sit on the Iron Throne with hemorrhoids? I will be Sir CC from the house of Prep H and son of Pain in the ***.

I'm just saying, especially with how they like twists and surprises, that there could be a scenario where the Age of the Iron Throne ends. In it's place the "Iron Council" is born, the throne reforged into a large council table with each kingdom represented equally and have a seat at the table. The unwashed masses would love the idea and in theory sounds great, but people being ambitious and greedy, there would still be plenty of back stabbing and double dealing, but hey at least, they wouldn't but at the mercy of a single unhinged ruler.

It's funny. For someone who pretty much does not watch broadcast TV and haven't for a long time. I actually have two TV shows (GoT and Star Trek Discovery) I'm watching that I have to wait each week to see. Most TV shows struggle to keep my interest. The ones that do, I usually stop watching because watching a show on a schedule usually doomed the show for me. I tried DVRs and that really didn't work.

Streaming at anytime is definitely the answer, but again. There are two at the same time. That is unheard of for me. hah

btw, I have no idea why there isn't a thread for Star Trek Discovery. This season has been fantastic!

Also, I agree with the chatter. There needs to be a Captain Pike spinoff. Anson Mount has been an awesome Captain Pike!
