If you read all of the posts by the person that started this you would see that he doesn't use that name as a good natured nickname.
.

It's a bloody joke! Do you honestly think that Jerry actually cares that @CouchCoach calls him that here? I think it's quite amusing actually. Then again, you've not really been one for humour, have you? Do take a chill pill, dear boy. This is a forum for a past time. No need to be all serious about it.

That's been the problem with this team for damn near 30 years dude. Accept it! Socks and jocks.... Jerry's the only owner who's gm and in charge of football operations. Stephens proven to be a chip off the old block getting in front of the mic like a blithering idiot.

To ignore it is blind blissful ignorance.
Not only have I already accepted it, but I've managed to move the hell on.
I'm interested and focused on the "now" - the present. The current era is very competitive and entertaining. feel free to whine and be depressed about the last 30 years.

So there's a lot of 78 and older users here? And if there are I guess they don't have to be respectful to Jones as an elder but that doesn't leave those younger than 77 from being disrespectful.
.
So, you consider someone within 10 years not old enough to be a parent, an elder? That’s a broad definition .

Again being face to face and knowing your family is entirely different that being disrespectful in the written form with total strangers. If you're OK with that fine but don't try to push your approval on others especially when it's obvious that they don't agree with yours thinking of being disrespectful to elders. Again the way I was raised, even in a joking manner it would never have been OK to say something like that to your Dad.
.

Once again, most people are not offended enough by “Booger”, especially as it applies to Jerry Jones, to spend endless posts being outraged. We like Jerry, and respect his many accomplishments, and his passion, but we also know enough about him to share a little smartassery at his expense. Rest assured, the hordes of disrespectful vermin acquiesce to your far superior standards and moral nobility. As an inbred cretin of the highest order, I envy your upbringing, the obvious model of perfection, and the gold standard for us all to aspire to. I hope you recognize sarcasm, and can enjoy healthy doses like most of us, but if not, there’s really nothing more to say. I don’t know if it’s a stubborn refusal to admit defeat, or worse, a genuine belief that your upbringing is actually superior to the majority of society. It’s not. So respond however you need to, but rest assured, it has changed nothing.

Again as I've said to another, if it doesn't bother you that's your business, but that doesn't mean it can't bother others. Since couch coach has said that others have brought it up also, that would mean that there are others who think it's disrespectful. Also why would it only matter if Jones thought or didn't think something was disrespectful? Why is it that others can't find it disrespectful?

Elder has zero to do with being a parent. I know a 71 year old man who has never been a father but that doesn't change the fact that he's an elder.

I find it funny, not ha ha funny, that now a couple of times you have brought up continued post about the use of a disrespectful name and yet you AGAIN reply to me about this. So it appears my stance on this bugs you as much as my stance on the disrespectful name. So in other words it's OK for you to admonish me again and again but it's not OK for me to admonish couch coach for something I feel is disrespectful. For the record I don't always do as I preach and when I haven't and if a family member hears about it I get chastised for it too. They love to say that's not how you were raised.

You misunderstood the “ parent “ segment.

My meaning was if not old enough to be a parent then probably not an Elder. If you’re going to include anyone who is older regardless the age as an Elder then IMO you’ve broadened the definition.

In other words I don’t include those close to my age, however older, as Elders.

Top 8 in the last 25 years?
No, he has progressed through trail and error and his first awakening was that he couldn't buy a ring, there are no shortcuts, and the second one was it all begins with the foundation.

I think it's only fair to point out he had a lot of company in that trying to buy one. I can't blame them as I would have been the same way. Hell, sometimes you just have to go all in.

Look at Lurie, there's an owner that tried everything. Snyder has taken his shots as well. Mara? Not so much, he learned from his father and is one of the few second generation owners that gets it and now he's retooling because that run is over.

I am from Texas and I've never heard anyone calling someone booger in good nature fun. I've only heard it a couple of times and my perception was it was meant in a disrespected or mean spirited way. It was used instead of calling them an *ss.
.
Well, there's your problem. Booger is from AR and I am from AR and he is Booger and while that is a nickname that is not uncommon there, you are correct, I do not use it as a cuddly nickname but because of how he earned it. If he wasn't such a spotlight seeker, he might not have been caught on camera, drilling a digit.

S'ok, furry, there are posters that come here for different reasons, some just to talk football or the Cowboys and sometimes those can be mutually exclusive and some for the camaraderie and fun, that's why I come here. I've made friends at both forums and evidently, some enemies here but that's OK too.

I enjoy the interaction and laughs with those I connect with and am all about the fun. I take none of this seriously unless one of our own is having a bad time of it. I am constantly surprised how many take this seriously but I do respect their right to do so.

Booger on Revenge of the Nerds didn't mind being called Booger.

Anthony McFarland doesn't seem to mind being called Booger.

DT Rashaad Moore is nicknamed Booger and doesn't mind.

In fact, both NFL DT's have embraced the name, and refer to themselves as "Booger".

So, now that you know 3 people who don't mind being called Booger, does that mean you've changed your mind?

Indeed. And Coach's explanation is quite funny. Plus, he's a loyal fan of this team, as far as I've seen. So what if he's got a nickname for Jerry? I've seen much worse. English football nicknames are MUCH MUCH worse.

Playing a character in a movie hardly counts as accepting a name. There may be some who are not offended by that name and I'll bet when they originally got the name it wasn't started as a disrespected name out of mean spirited feelings. I'll also bet that if someone asked Jones if he liked being called booger and is called booger because of mean spirited feelings that he would say he doesn't like the name. When you can name someone that goes by that name and it wasn't started to ridicule that person and you have proof of that, then I may consider rethinking this.

This is getting ridiculous now. Most nicknames are created to mimic or ridicule them. You can’t pick your nickname. Lol

I picked my nickname...
Corso.

Otherwise I agree.
And like Jerry Jam-Master Booger would care that some goob calls him Booger.
LOL!
