We’ll see what happens. Dak’s been a stud overall for 3 years and I’m willing to bet on him moving forward. He works his butt off, he’s durable and he’s a tremendous leader who shines in the clutch.

He’s at the VERY least a “good QB”, and those are very, very difficult to find. It’s also nearly impossible to win a Super Bowl without a good QB.
Dak had a great rookie year..... but he also wasnt asked to do too much.
Year two, Dak sucked.
Year three... Dak sucked pre Amari, very good post Amari.

This is why I have question marks about him, and apparently the front office doe salso. It is not a negative to not be positive Dak is the guy. I think it is just responsible. Dak could always say hey, Im gonna bet on myself like Cousins did and not sign this year, go out and prove he is a stud in 2019, then he can ask for whatever he wants nnext year. So Dake has all the carsd in his hand if he is so confident in himself.

I think the smart move is to let him play out this year and then tag and trade him in March for a king's ransom before the draft. Even if we win the SB, it's likely because of the defense and running game, therefore Prescott is replaceable.

Mediocre QB? In your eyes only. Cowboys think otherwise, and many of us agree. Agree on that the organization should have gotten a better backup QB though.

July 15th and no 30+ million contract.....are you sure the Cowboys think otherwise?????:omg:

uhmmm, no, the alternative is to franchise him and get another year to see how he plays. Still not sure after that? Franchise him again to see how he plays. There is just no way we have seen enough to know if he is the guy we need. We know he cant put ateam on his back like Brady, Rodgers, Brees. So we know he is not a top 5 QB, hopefully we dont pay him like he is.

I dont want to hear about well in 3 years it will be considered cheap. I would go by today. Glad to see it looks like our front office is playing hardball. Didnt S Jones even say he expected a little bit of a team friendly deal?
Guess you forgot the GB playoff game in 2016 when Dak as a rookie brought the team back after being down 18 points during the 2nd quarter while tying the game at 31 all with 39 seconds left against Aaron Rodgers and his SB proven veteran team?

As NBC Sports' Charean Williams wrote this past January:

"
Prescott has led the Cowboys to back-to-back fourth-quarter comebacks, with wins over the Giants in Week 17 and the Seahawks in the postseason. He has nine fourth-quarter comebacks and 15 game-winning drives in his three seasons. His predecessor, Tony Romo, had 25 fourth-quarter comebacks and 30 game-winning drives in his career.

The signature play of Prescott’s career came with 2:33 remaining when he ran for 16 yards to the Seattle 1 on third-and-14, cartwheeling through the air.

“That sums up Dak Prescott,” Cowboys guard Zack Martin said. “He’s going to do whatever it takes to help us win. Any time you see your quarterback throwing his body around like that to do whatever he can to help us win it’s inspiring.

“He’s a winner. I wouldn’t want anyone else being our quarterback.”

Since 1994, which is as far back as Pro Football Reference goes on this particular stat, Prescott leads the league in career passer rating when tied or trailing by eight points or fewer in the fourth quarter or overtime.

He has a 109.7 passer rating in that situation, leading all quarterbacks who have at least 100 attempts when tied or trailing by one score in the fourth quarter or overtime. In fact, no other quarterback has a passer rating above 100 with Andrew Luck (97.7), Romo (95.4), Russell Wilson (93.8), Ben Roethlisberger (93.3) and Drew Brees(92.4) trailing. "

That's our All Pro #1 Olineman, Zack Martin, saying, "That sums up Dak Prescott. He’s going to do whatever it takes to help us win. Any time you see your quarterback throwing his body around like that to do whatever he can to help us win it’s inspiring.

“He’s a winner. I wouldn’t want anyone else being our quarterback.”

What should that tell you critics? I'll take Zack Martin's word over yours any day. He knows, especially since he has played for both Tony Romo and now Dak Prescott.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...tt-now-has-led-nine-fourth-quarter-comebacks/

Dak Prescott has led the Dallas Cowboys to more wins in the past 3 years than any QB in the NFL, other than Tom Brady. Plus, Dak has had the best first 3 starting years winning percentage than any QB in Cowboys franchise history and among the very best in NFL history.

Looks like you critics don't know what you are talking about when it comes to Dak Prescott and his worth.

Yeah I forgot about it... since I was on the 20 yard line. That ONE game was probably the best game of his career... but if you think that ONE game erased the entire 2017 season, you are nuts.

I wonder if any player gave iinterviews after Dak had like 4 games in a row with like a minus 300 QB rating in 2017?

What I'm talking about is the post route where he drops the ball right between two defenders in the middle of the field and the wr doesnt have to slow down or twist his body to make the catch. The passes your talking about the guys are wide open.

Now zeke is talking about holding out of training camp if talks aren't going well. That would be a great opportunity for jerry to see if Dak can carry the team before giving Dak a big contract.

They turn Prescott loose against the Giants and against the Ravens truth just to see what he could do he won both games. They just didn't wait until the 4th quarter. We play Smash Mouth football for a reason. We don't want to overexpose the youngest starting defense in the league. Have people really understood what this franchise was trying to accomplish. We know Prescott is a winner we just want to make sure the rest of the team is up to par
