Cowboy fans have been thinking we could milk Ezekiel for these last two years but the kid is possibly saying .. hold on.
I’m impressed actually.

Just it, the fact we have not heard one word from either Zeke agent or Stephen tells me all I need to know. Think about, if things had deteriorated to the point of Zeke threating to hold out, we what have heard some more concrete than media *** guessing. BTW......I notice one article mention something about Zeke wanting to see FO being pro-active. That's a bunch BS.......Stephen has already admitted he expects to pay Zeke more than Gurley and ask for Zeke patients until he can take care of couple others. If that's not pro-active, I don't know what is.

so if you are Zeke, and you read this rumor or see it on a sports show(which there is no doubt, he has) and it is 100% false. You would have immediately made a statement saying that this is not true, he will be at camp and he is not holding out.

Have you seen such a statement? People arent out just making this stuff up. In the last few years we hear this person is gettign fired over and over in teh media... a certain person comes out and says that is fales. Mr. Pre...... is very hapy with said person. Three months later, the person is fired or resigns. Wake up... Zeeke absolutely is saying this.

Well I am going to assume you didnt know but the CFL has a salary cap of 5.2M for the entire team. The highest paid player makes 200k per year.
https://careertrend.com/info-7916967-average-salary-cfl-player.html

And here is the quote from Stephen Jones.

Jones acknowledged as much back in February, when he said that Gurley’s contract with the Los Angeles Rams provided a guideline for negotiations with Elliott.

“We certainly saw what Gurley got paid, and we know that’s probably where it starts, and we’ll go from there,” he said at the NFL Combine.

So unfortunately your points just took a beating.

I actually didn't know that about the CFL so I think you for educating me there. As far as the comments from Stephen, I'm pretty sure there is more to that comment then what is posted here. End of day, if I were wrong about the teams position, then wouldn't Zeke already be signed? I mean, if Stephen and the team believed that Gurley and Zeke were worth that money, wouldn't this deal already be done? Obviously, that's not the case here. That's pretty much common sense, don't you agree? Interestingly enough, I feel pretty good after the beating you refer to.

Yes, that is his contract guaranteed portion they signed. He is owed nothing else... He is not the business and the crowds come to see more than Zeke getting piled up in the middle of the OL.
RB's are a dime a dozen behind our All Pro line.
Well that weird. Zeke has the 9th highest selling jersey in the NFL.
He has won the NFL rushing title 2 out of 3 seasons. He has led the league in YPG since he came into the league.

I wonder why those Randle and McFadden jerseys were not flying off the shelf?

I will say that its more complicated than to assume they don't plan to pay him just because they didnt yet. Why would they rush to pay him when he has 2 years left they can get him on the cheap? (relatively).
I have seen nothing that says they wont pay him.
In the end they will most likely pay him and he will be the highest paid RB in the league. Anti RB fans will hate it but even being the highest paid RB he will still earn less than some other positions who don't contribute nearly as much.

I mean I don't blame him if he wants to hold out but he'll show up for game 1 so really is it anything more then him just skipping practice?

Of course vets want to skip practice so I don't blame him if this is how he wants to go about it.

Only part I disagree with is that you would think you would go through 1 offseason without getting in trouble before coming and asking for more money.

If a team wants to offer some premium picks i'd say cya later Zeke.

I agree.

He could clear this rumor up in a few moments if he wanted to.

No, not really. The CFL point, yes. The other, well, the proof is in the putting. Your point is that the Team believes he will be paid as the highest RB in the League correct? If that's the case, then why isn't he signed?

Nobody has said they wouldn't pay him. Just not like Gurley is the point. Everybody knows that he isn't going to make QB money. That's not really a revelation but the point is still valid, if the team were willing to pay him Gurley money, why isn't the deal done? Why are we talking about holding out?

I looked at you rprofile and it says you are 26. Now usingwhat you said above, that not winning a super bowl or even getting there and losing is as bad as being 3-13 for you, that tells me you have been miserable, as a fan, your entire life. Why watch football at all?
Yes I was an infant last time Cowboys were SB contenders. Football is my favorite sport because I grew up in San Antonio where football reigns supreme, basketball a distant second, soccer a distant third and everything else irrelevant.

We could always pick up a formidable back up or aging veteran as QB in 2020. Even a later than 1st round pick who could eventually serve as Trevor’s backup or competition until he’s fully developed and ready. We wouldn’t have to concede to a 4-12 type season.
But the 4-12 type season would go a long way to help us get Lawrence and stay in position to acquire the best young talent possible available at the time. 8-8 would be worse because we'd have to trade more assets to get Lawrence and still have a failed season under our belt. If you miss the playoffs, no point in winning games for pride. Better to give White the opportunity of his life than bringing in some retread career joureyman/backup that we know will not be the long term answer, also that would cost valuable cap space as well that we could otherwise roll over to later.

You can always keep White if he's cheap for one more year to be the "bridge" for Lawrence seeing that he'll already have a full year of starting experience under his belt.

My Alma Mater has sucked most of my life but I don’t abort football. There’s plenty of other good football to watch in addition to my team.

You just complain , make jokes , bash the program and be an apathetic fan hoping someday they’ll find their way. But aborting the sport you love cause your team is struggling or not having the level of success you’d prefer?

That’s probably how fans outside of Texas region become Cowboy fans. They aborted their local or regional team cause they suked.

agree

and you can always latch on to a team like KC with a Texas kid in Mahomes as well as schadenfreude against the evil Cheatriots.

you both really missed my point. Altestic said losing the SB to hi is the same as going 3-13, which means the game simply isnt fun for him unless th eteam wins the SB. The game cant only be fun when you win. That is exactly what makes the game fun... the struggle to win, and how hard it is to win.

Cowherd says anything and everything that's on the hotplate and he thinks he's the smartest man in the room because of it.
Even though he gets so much wrong...

It's a weird thing, feeling you're super-smart because you can open your mouth.
He better not open it too wide, someone might stick something in it! Lol

I guess you were too young to have seen the Saints when they played a few home games in San Antonio?
