in regards to Pollard, the Cowboys brass have insist that Pollard is more than just a gimmick, space, pass catching nickel guy.
That’s what I want to hear.
i'm wanting a dual threat player where he still gives the run game that needed spark when zeke is being spelled in brief.
and defenses cannot be predict our plays and be fixed on Pollard being used only as pass back when he's in.
I am anxious to see Pollard’s run instincts, the plus vision to sense openings and lanes between the tackles and make plays accordingly.
With guys like Rod Smith, we constantly saw a guy hesitating, dancing in the backfield or running up the back of OL blockers.
Those are the kind of guys that make OL work harder than what they have to, ..those are the kind of backs that makes zeke have to work harder than what he has to, .. and it showed often as zeke was exhausted and couldn’t get the needed relief and breathers needed because the primary backup RB was just so bad. I’ve often wondered If the toll and fatigue and weary legs could have taken
an effect on zeke’s burst long speed down the stretch.
Morris has run instincts but I think he’s just too much of a plodder, he’s more of a workhorse that wont get big chunk yards out of him, it was a reason why the team let him go as a FA, and why Morris was benched in favor of a more faster Darren McFadden even after DMAC was injured (forearm) for much of the season.
Sorry, but I am hoping Alf is just a camp body, and we go with more threatening, faster RBs and don’t have to dump a promising player just for the sake of keeping vet RB
whose not likely to be here for long.
