Pollard has a chance to be the "shiny toy" in this offense. If they make defenses have to defend the other players on the field and let him exploit his man, ..... um, slice and dice. Think Az Hakim type threat.

He projects as the ideal 2nd RB because of his versatility to play both RB and play with the lead RB in the game.
- I think he might be OK as a lead RB for some games but it would take away from using his in the "offensive weapon" role.

Are you saying that we can resume the Alvin Kamara comparisons again?

in regards to Pollard, the Cowboys brass have insist that Pollard is more than just a gimmick, space, pass catching nickel guy.
That’s what I want to hear.
i'm wanting a dual threat player where he still gives the run game that needed spark when zeke is being spelled in brief.
and defenses cannot be predict our plays and be fixed on Pollard being used only as pass back when he's in.

I am anxious to see Pollard’s run instincts, the plus vision to sense openings and lanes between the tackles and make plays accordingly.
With guys like Rod Smith, we constantly saw a guy hesitating, dancing in the backfield or running up the back of OL blockers.

Those are the kind of guys that make OL work harder than what they have to, ..those are the kind of backs that makes zeke have to work harder than what he has to, .. and it showed often as zeke was exhausted and couldn’t get the needed relief and breathers needed because the primary backup RB was just so bad. I’ve often wondered If the toll and fatigue and weary legs could have taken
an effect on zeke’s burst long speed down the stretch.

Morris has run instincts but I think he’s just too much of a plodder, he’s more of a workhorse that wont get big chunk yards out of him, it was a reason why the team let him go as a FA, and why Morris was benched in favor of a more faster Darren McFadden even after DMAC was injured (forearm) for much of the season.

Sorry, but I am hoping Alf is just a camp body, and we go with more threatening, faster RBs and don’t have to dump a promising player just for the sake of keeping vet RB
whose not likely to be here for long.

The Cowboys envision an Ingram-Kamara combination with Zeke and Pollard. Another good comparison is Christian McCaffrey in terms of role.

Can he be that? We'll see. But that speed is yummy.

Doing it in 1 on 1 drills.
I have seen that done before both when I've been at camp and on video; although, I don't know how often because they have many practices that I don't see.

Wow, either LBs have no chance to cover Pollard or there is something wrong with Jaylon.

Sidenote: If somebody sees this play and focuses on the throw then they might be clueless. Missed throws happen in practice but it looks like Pollard can beat defenders off the line with ease repeatedly. That should be exciting to Cowboys fans.

It's always that double edged sword. Should we be excited about the O player or concerned about the D player?

Remember all that "no one can cover Rico"?

Considering the type back Pollard was at Memphis and his measurables coupled with Young Kellen's need to crank up the passing game, he could be the Cowboys best pick in this draft and a player that a lot of teams wished they'd looked at closer. Moves and speed in space are a real challenge for D.

I am probably being overly optimistic but I think when he was picked, Young Kellen had some input on how he could help his O. Couple that with the Elliott holdout and Pollard will get more looksees.

Did we (fans) ever see the "no one cover Rico"?

There always seem to be reports about players, especially in this time before the 1st preseason game that don't match what we see in the preseason games.
- That seems even more exaggerated when Broaddus is doing the reporting.

The Cowboys (since McClay became the top Player Personnel Guy) like to draft players that were not used to the fullest extent of their abilities due to scheme or other personnel.

Maliek Collins:
Was used as 1-tech or 0-tech type player. He should be a 3-tech all the way.

Pollard:
- Memphis had 3 future NFL RBs and Darrell Henderson might have been the best RB in the 2019 draft.
- Pollard likely could have played either RB or WR full time in some other schemes/teams.

Nobody would focus on the throw if they had not sen it a few times in games last year!
People can focus all they want on the throw in other threads that are about Dak. There are plenty of them. There are other threads with this video posted in them.

Vander Esch put him on skates the other day in practice, against the blitz pick up. I agree, it's encouraging to see Pollard beat guys off the line like that but he won't see the field if he can't pick up a blitz.

And for the record, I agree with a lot of posters, Dak's pass was horrible. I don't get it either and yes X, I know I am clueless. It's just hard to ignore that.

Agree, Henderson's a hell of a back and I watched a couple of their games just to watch him. With the RB's they had on that team, Pollard getting as many touches as he did tells me they couldn't keep him on the bench.

His true potential hasn't been tapped yet, I've just got a feeling about him. He reminds me of the old Auburn backs and lately UGA backs that they're so deep, the backup isn't really the back up. Hell, Michell played behind Chubb and got picked in the 1st round.

Gallup saw that same throw last season.

But the Daksters will tell you Pollard was too slow.

Are you serious? Tom Brady, or Peyton Manning or freaking Pat Mahommes never missed a throw like that? Of course they have. Give Dak a chance for christs sake! He has the added weapon in his legs and he has proven that he is clutch and a great leader. Why can't anyone see that?
That’s there agenda.

Henderson was picked at #70.

I definitely would have taken him if he had made it to the Cowboys pick; although, I'm surprised he didn't go much earlier.

If they had drafted both Henderson and Pollard, I would have loved it.

They could then just announce that they don't expect Zeke to return but they'll keep his rights indefinitely.
