Morning Pops and fellow members. Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Am I the only one that despises having black Friday sales starting on Thanksgiving Day?

Was (and still is) my favorite holiday because the holiday was all about family.

Afternoon Pops and everyone.

Short and sweet... I hate shopping (sorry Xel).

I went today to pick up a grave blanket for my dad's plot at the Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery. Since he passed away that is one tradition I've maintained, even if most of the siblings don't come along for whatever reason. Whoever is going this year will meet up tomorrow and we'll go have a few laughs 'with him'.

Beyond that I plan to stay hold up in my apartment for the rest of the day.

Happy Friday everyone.
Jan, if I were shopping for that, I wouldn't be into it either.

Doesn't bother me because that gives the wimmenfolk something to do while their menfolk watch football. Then, they can spend more time in the kitchen doing what wimmenfolk do best, breakfast table sex.

Truth? I'm a tightwad like my grandpa, tho that goes out the window when it comes to my grandkids. I do shop for Christmas, but mostly online because I generally find other people's public habits questionable at best and disgusting. Not a germaphobe, I just choose not to be in the middle of all those Kleenex-lacking parents with runny-nosed sick kids that insist on touching everything in the store with their snotty fingers.

Also, I did the Black Friday shopping experience ONE time when my kids were little and that was more than enough. People are friggin rude and I choose not to be subjected to it.

Morning, Pops, morning gang. I decided to log on and greet everyone while I'm finishing my 2nd cup of coffee. Okay, it's finished so I have to go get my 3rd cup. Y'all have a great day.
Y'all get the idea that no one in Leon's family has a photo of him without a cup of coffee? And he's getting a little more relaxed with us because this is the first time I've seen him mention a third cup. However, I have seen him mention having a cup really early in the morning, I mean really early, and I think he secretly sets the alarm to beat anyone else in the house to the pot of coffee. A good day to Leon is measured in post, not cups.

And speaking of cups, and I was, I got two new cups to use during these festive holidays. I got a Starbucks cup for weekdays and ordered a Grinch cup for the weekends and am having coffee in that now but I did not read the description at Amazon and this thing is huge. I could raise a family of fish in this thing but then I'd have to name them and I couldn't dine on them. Anyway, it's bright green, the color of the Grinch and I am assuming that's on purpose, and has Nice Grinch on one side and Naughty Grinch on the other. I am glad the Naughty Grinch is on the right handed drinker side because I think people who are nice at this time of year just to get presents suck.

Morning Pops and all my little reindeer. Hey, y'all get the chance, watch that ET ad Xfinity did, it's really special. I was hoping he was going to show up on The Mandalorian but I think itty bitty Yoda is going to be it.

Got some good games on today, Rivalry Weekend they call it. I am hoping Michigan can upset Ohio State, OK State can beat OU and that Bama-Auburn game could be more than the Tide wants. I like anarchy and I want 8 teams in the playoffs. That's only 2 more Saturdays of games and they have the openings.

Also got some good games on Sunday. BAL-SF, HOU-NE, CLE-PIT and MIN-SEA on MNF. But the most interesting matchup is with two of the worst teams fighting for the #1 pick, CIN-NYJ. They could be throwing nothing but backward passes.

Afternoon Pops and friends. While I was driving to momma's for Thanksgiving, I passed a huge blow up Grinch in front of a neatly manicured home. He was right up against the 2 story and could see all that's going on the upper level. I had to laugh. This morning we were under a severe weather alert with 90% chance of rain, a Torcon of 4 and temperatures dropping 30 degrees today. That's a very bad sign and I was preparing for it. I checked a little while ago and it was down to a 60% chance of rain and less than 20 degree drop. I'm sure the sky will be clear shortly. The Weather Channel is just like Jerry Jones, no one is apologizing for ANY THING!

I'm sorry y'all had to see that. I don't normally lose my temper two days after a bad game (yes, I do) but I'm seriously irked. I just saw a college team frolic in and out of the end zone and my professional team can't find it with both hands, a scouting team and the #1 offense in the league. Is everyone else really that bad? I see the great Patriots showing signs of humanity for which I'm grateful. I wish those insurance commercials would use Tom Brady instead of AR.

Apparently, I'm on a rant today and should get off my computer before I break something. Have a good Saturday all!

Morning, Pops and pen pals. The Alabama/Auburn game yesterday was a barn burner. It was much more fun to watch that the blow outs we usually see. Today will be a sit-back-and-relax day for me. I hope all Y'all enjoy this back to work day eve.

Actually, Coach, I rarely have a 3rd cup of coffee, but I needed it yesterday. I start each morning with about 20 oz. of water to get the insides charged up, then I get my first cup of coffee. I do look forward to that 1st cup, though.

Xelda, I've been to numb to enjoy the Cowboys since the playoff loss last year. I put my season tickets up for sale during the summer. Of course not one wants them. Why would they. Garrett football has sucked the life out of me. Win, lose, tie; it doesn't matter to me. I hate the feeling because I love the Cowboys, but I can't help it. I will say that it is a lot quieter around my house this year when the game is on.

Good morning Pops and all those that sashay by this thread.

I am not a coffee drinker, but I do love a cup of hot tea in the morning and, in fact, am on my second cup of Lady Earl Grey. Coffee is one of those items that falls into the category of "smells good, taste bad". I love the smell of freshly roasted coffee beans being ground. Unfortunately for me, there is a big gap between that smell and the taste.

We dutifully avoided Black Friday but did venture to the outlet mall yesterday for a little Christmas shopping. Like most men, I treat shopping like a hostage rescue scenario - get in, get out and minimize collateral damage. You can probably guess where this is going. My wife, on the other hand, views shopping as competitive event in which must place in the top 3.

At one shop, the very discerning store manager approached me with a question, "are you shopping today or merely along for the entertainment value? If strictly for entertainment, we have chairs in the corner with excellent WiFi coverage". Bless her heart!

The Christmas decorations are going up at our house. The cats have that thousand yard stare on their furry little faces. You can almost hear them thinking, "Ronan, the Accuser, has returned to earth to complete the destruction of the ornaments".

Have a great Sunday as we count down to Christmas.

Takes a real man, all comfortable in his own skin, to admit drinking tea named "Lady Earl Grey". The official beverage of the Lifetime Channel. You might need to balance that out with a Samuel Adams just to keep that knuckle hair from receding.

Nordstrum's, in the Galleria in Dallas, has a bar with tv's. I used to accompany my wife with a warning "this bar does not have a 4 drink maximum, shop at your own risk". When she was shopping for clothes, I really did like to go with her and watch her try on things and ask my opinion. I like a life filled with danger and risk, never knowing which moment might be my last. The sales ladies always enjoyed my "more cleavage" comments, no matter what she was trying on.

LMAO at the cats and decorations.

Morning Pops and those lamenting the last day of your 4 day weekend. I won't lie, these are my favorite days, the ones where the majority of people have to go to work and the kiddies have to return to school. Why else be retired if I am not getting out of something?

Well, my football plans, except for LSU romping over the Aggies, went awry yesterday and it looks like I am down to Baylor and Wisconsin keeping OU and OSU out of the playoffs and I am not sure a loss would do that to OSU, that is one excellent football team as much as I don't like to admit it. At least it is a very balanced team instead of a one sided team like OU. Can't figure out why so many here want their HC as the next DC one. He's not a HC.

Morning Pops and friends.

Sunday morning already. Even 4 day weekends flash by. I wonder if they go by slower in jail. Maybe next year I'll get arrested on Wednesday night, just to prolong the holiday. Tomorrow looks like a "make my way into work at 5 a.m., just to refuse to drive in the snow" kind of day, because if I don't go in, I don't get paid for the holiday.

Hopefully we don't get nearly as much snow as they're predicting.........I hate snow.

Have a fantastic day everyone, and bask in the knowledge the the Cowboys can't lose today!

LMAO at the cats and decorations.

A manly man, doing manly things in a manly way... Besides, Lady Earl Grey has lovely floral notes on the nose.

The cats read your comment and are not amused.

Morning Pops and friends. I understand and agree, Leon. Our team is being held hostage by idjit galoots. Nothing I can say that hasn't been said a thousand times this week. Runny brought the reality that we're not what some would call playing today, so we can enjoy this day just like the off season. DAD BLAST IT! < That's polite cussing for company. Don't get yourself arrested, Runny. We're not close enough to bail you out and we'd all laugh harder at your confinement than we should. Coach might write poetry about it.

On Thanksgiving, my email account was hacked and they sent me 4 emails from my account. I've had enough of this hacker, so I put myself on ignore and changed the password to something infinitely harder than a code for nuclear weapons. I think I used all the symbols on the keyboard that I've never used before. It's a shame this is how they choose to make a living.

I'm debating what I will accomplish today. Maybe put the tree up, I'm just not sure where to put it yet. Rearrangement of the furniture complicates matters. I plan to bake some bread and/or cookies. I have to make some without chocolate and nuts for my brother which has suffered kidney stones. That will be the pre-gussied up bread and cookies. I have my eyes set on some blueberry bread among other things. I promised to bake some bread for a coworker and his family. I should get on that.

Have a peaceful and joyful first day of December everyone.
