He did nothing but show pride , emotion and call this organization and most importantly coaching staff out on there BS
And that is why he is gone, a 12 cent head makes life tough.

Yes, but Dez did mail it in after he got paid (and even admitted that he mailed it in). So it's not like he's some paragon of "I was wronged." He's as guilty as Garrett. Granted that at that point if I was playing under Garrett, I'd probably be beaten down by the incompetence enough to mail it in.

But Dez definitely took too much heat for calling it like it is....but he's not innocent.
I don’t remember reading Dez admitting to not trying to play well.

What's funnier is JG didn't even let Romo compete to get his starting role back yet Witten, who's been out of football for a year, gets his starting role handed to him. Talk about double standards.
I never thought about it that way, very good post!

They had a competition, Romo handed rah his butt. Romo in his last drive, showed what a real probowler looked like. They made sure he didn't see the field again. Romo put on a clinic in that last drive he played
And that's the reason they only gave him one drive.

It would have been even clearer if he was allowed to finish out the game. Garrett knew it too so he took him out to avoid being questioned on who should start.

if Lincoln Riley and Urban Meyer are smart, and I think they are, STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM COACHING THIS TEAM. It would be coaching suicide to quit the sweet gig Urban enjoys in the studio and for Riley to walk away from that job. Dallas isn't the plum coaching job it use to be. Jerry and Stevie are reasons A AND B.

Witten controlled Garrett and still does. that's the point I was making..cooper played great for those games.. no doubt.. I SAID TODAY. not for the season. cooper been playing like raiders cooper for 6 weeks.
So let me get this straight. Jerry controls Garrett and Witten controls Garrett. Garrett controls Moore and Garret controls Marinelli and Richard? Is that the pecking order?

Who makes the ultimate decisions with personnel, Jerry or Witten?

A good example of what we went through happened just this year. Look at this season, you didn't see New Orleans benching Drew Brees for Teddy Bridgewater, just because Bridgewater got hot.

Can you imagine, New Orleans, a team playing for super bowls, going... well we're going to bench Drew Brees because the team is really getting behind Teddy. "He's the hot hand right now".

The Saints do the correct thing, and Drew Brees comes back, and a team that was already good.. becomes elite.

in 2016, Dallas had the same opportunity. We could have become elite by reinserting Romo into the offense. Dak had a great year that year, but it is fact that he was not running a full offense.

What could we have done, if we had the full playbook at our disposal?

And that's the problem with the JG era, too many what if's.. or shoulda.. or situations where the chemistry isn't right, etc... We've squandered 2 title runs, and countless careers, and that really is the heart of Dez's message. Garrett is a good guy, and a high intelligence mind prob, but he's had his 10 years. It's time to try something else.
Not a bad example but Romo had played 5 games in over a year due to injury and then got injured in pre season. Dak had more mobility which gave the offense more options as well. I’m not saying it was the greatest decision but I didn’t have a problem with it and very few here did when we were winning. It’s only after that fact that it’s looked backed upon and criticized and that is based on “what if”. That’s pretty easy to do with a lot of decisions from all coaches.

Idiots and crybabies....you dumb-down your argument with the name calling. You seem to have an anger issue or cannot express yourself in a well mannered way.

Give to Dez over Amari everyday. Amari is so amazing that when it's cold and rainy he quits only to be amazingly healed to play the next Thursday at home in the cozy Jerry dome.

I'll be awaiting your angered retort. But don't expect another reply, I can live with the name calling without having to do the same back.
If you read the post I was responding to perhaps you would understand, I don’t see you calling that poster out. I can live without your response so keep it and yourself and block me to save is you the headache.

Dez wasted his own career.

He was a creation of Romo only. Otherwise, he was a liability.

No honor in kicking a man when he’s down. That weak sauce.

Kicking a man when he's down? Last time I checked, Garrett was getting paid millions and held a HC job for almost a decade and was not even close to being qualified.

Are you kidding me I wish this team had somebody on it that was fiery amd had heart. Who would NOT have been on the sidelines on 3 and 8 and 4th and 8 with the game on the line. Get out of here with that. Dez was REAL
